The staffers- the people who you talk/text weekly or even daily to schedule shifts are awesome. Most of them have good attitude and are understanding, though like all work places have a few rotten eggs. I would give them a 8/10 for organization and communication because that's most of their job but there were noticeable times where they mixed up schedules or did not communicate the shift time or location or cancellation properly and occasionally led to the worker (myself) being reprimanded by HR assumingly since CNAs are more replaceable than staffers. 

Payroll- They work with you if you are missing a paystub and will allow you to turn them in late or allow corrections so long as you call and speak to them on the phone. The handbook and payroll managers both poorly explained "advanced pay" which resulted in a smaller paycheck than anticipated which then caused some budgeting issues for myself.

HR- The person who interviewed me was wonderful. Unfortunately with this being such a large company, there's multiple people in the HR department and there's a particular few who seem to constantly have a bad day no matter the day and have a lack of compassion for the company's workers. My personal suggestion that should be thrown into a "suggestion box" is for the employees/ managers at headquarters to have a weekly morality review where they each discuss the hard decisions they had to make and whether they handled them with empathy for the workers or with sole interest of making their job easier.

Things I wish I knew: If you show up on time but are clocking in 15 minutes late or so due to the facility's workers'  disorganization- then I suggest you make sure that in the comments of your FSMobile app you have written "Showed up at _ _ : _ _am/pm  " Just to be sure HR can't attempt to reprimand you for 'always being late'. As well as if a facility worker attempts to scold you for any reason whether it was deserved or not, then request to be put on the DNR list yourself(you can always request it be lifted later). Else wise the facility employee that scolded you will more than likely come up with more false accusations to make you look bad and ensure a DNR looks bad on Cascade's end and not the Facility's end.
One last piece of advice is to always ask the staffers questions and talk to fellow agency members when you meet them. You should discuss pay with your fellow members to be assured you are getting paid what you deserve. Write down the facility's pay rate, and confirm with the staffer when they schedule you there.

I would work for Cascade again but cautiously.

Being an office staff employee for Cascade is not the "easiest" job one could have, but I can assure you it is rewarding. Most of all, the service we provide to hundreds of hospitals/nursing homes in KS and MO is above average. The service we provide to our employees is above average. It is a great place to have a very long career and be successful, well compensated, part of a devoted team & so much more. The reason I say it is not "easy" is because the expectations are very high. The expectations are high, because those of us who want a great career and want to work for the best healthcare staffing agency in KS or MO  want nothing less than to be the best. There have been office staff working here that were dishonest, troublemakers, not interested in being team oriented but instead self serving, etc. and they were discharged for cause or quit because they could not handle the work. Most people who have resigned left on great terms and most of us still speak. That is the majority of ex office staff for the past 20 years. Many of us have worked for Cascade for 4-15 years in fact most of us of 20 total have. The business began in 1988 and contrary to one of the "disgruntled" employee reviews, the company is highly stable and growing still. Each of us chuckled upon reading some of the negative (untrue) reviews because we could tell pretty well which ex office staff member wrote them. The expectations for working here whether it is the hours, pay (which is great by the way), benefits, etc. are very clearly stated prior to hire and ongoing and the policies are clear. Again---high expectations and people are held to standards. People who are dishonest are quickly unwelcome. People who don't care about their work or who have no integrity will hate working here. If you don't like to follow the rules, you'll hate it too. Staffing agencies often have a high turner rate and huge burnout rate with regard to office staff. Cascade offers an atmosphere that fosters long term relationships and affords the staff opportunities to feel engaged, rewarded, responsible for the success of the company, etc.

Working in the corporate office, lunch breaks are no longer a thing,  in fact, you will be getting off 30 minutes early because the company does not want to pay lunch breaks anymore or give you the option to take a lunch if you wish. Overtime? No longer an option as they cut that out too. New roles were assigned and the workload increased. In fact, everyday new changes are made, and you receive word in an email in the middle of the day, “Effective Immediately “ things will be done a certain way. Change can be good, but there is no stability. They will not increase your pay, the turn over rate is insane, and they will do everything they can to get over on you. When I first started, I enjoyed this company and felt appreciated. Now it seems they are expanding too quickly and no appreciation to employees, and you will feel it there. I thought this would be me making a career, instead it was a dead end job, and no appreciation.

The managers will talk about you behind your back to other team members, and openly discuss things to the entire office. They will attempt to show empathy, but do not know how, in fact, they will suck you in that they have high hopes for you and then they will completely disregard you being a valuable employee. You will not enjoy working here.  

I've worked at Cascade for many years, and I can't really imagine being anywhere else.  I make a good living and work with people I both respect and admire.  It can be hard work and stressful at times, and it truly takes a certain kind of person to enjoy it and thrive in it, but that's what healthcare staffing is.  You have to enjoy a challenge.  Personally, I like that.

I have noticed a few negative reviews have been posted recently by a couple of disgruntled ex-office staff employees who were terminated not long ago.  The truth is, they deserved to be let go.  Plain and simple.  No I wasn't their boss, but I did work side by side with them, and I got to see firsthand the problems they caused for everyone else.  They didn't last long, and ultimately got what they deserved.  I'll leave it at that.

Cascade expects a lot of you, no doubt.  I work hard, but I know my work is appreciated, and I have the respect of my fellow team members, awesome clients and amazing field staff.  I have enjoyed my time here, and hope to be at Cascade for years to come.  I have developed some of my closest friendships here, with people I work with on a daily basis.

Cascade is a great place to work.

I was apprehensive at first, not knowing if I'd get enough hours, if I'd get stuck with all the worst assignments, etc. Working for the company full time for about 15 months now has made me overcome those concerns. They work with so many hospitals if you're willing to drive 20 minutes to 3+ hours away to work. It allows flexibility in my life like I didn't have as a staff nurse in a local hospital. If I get tired of one particular place, I don't have to go back if I don't want to. I don't get caught up in the drama of management vs staff, and I have made a lot of new friends! The management and staff of Cascade have always been friendly and easy to work with. My only concerns are how expensive insurance is if you have to support a family. It's not bad if you're by yourself. The compensation in pay helps offset the cost of insurance. Also, there's barely any PTO accrual. Maybe 1 hour every  week where I was getting over 4 hours a week as a regular staff nurse (but now I'm getting paid a lot better than I was)! If I could change anything it would be more PTO and maybe more insurance coverage options.

I struggled to join agency for many years as I have been an aide for ten, I am currently attending nursing school a 2 year program and cascade is very convenient in regard to my extensive life schedule, my hesitation for agency was due to the understanding that the facilities in need were to be assumed low staffed & a heavy load & most likely filled with facilities infested with bad management, neglect/abuse due to unpaid, unappreciated & overworked staff members, and although EVERYTHING I listed is true, these factors are only continuing to get worse- now affecting everywhere and agency is the main reason aides have gotten an increase in wages as well deserved with the understanding of the importance of this role in healthcare specifically in the elderly. so I encourage everyone to not only join agency for the benefit in the fight for higher wages but join agency with pride when accepting a higher wage be sure to display that in the care you take of your patients, not everyday will you get everything done and you will be overwhelmed but not many people get the honor to be an everyday hero. 

This is a company that is based on "Family".  We have a very diverse group of people who work here and they are all family to us!  This company treats us to many things that make everyday a pleasure to work here!  Where else would you get a "Casino Month" to win cool prizes?  Over the years we have grown so much and I have had the pleasure to be apart of this phenomenal growth!!  If you are able to adapt to change as the company grows and grows then this is the place for you!  I have been through more changes than I can count and they all have been positive for myself and the company.  Many years ago I had to make a life changing decision to move and it was a very long way from the company.  I submitted my resignation several months ahead of time knowing this was going to be the end.  Instead I was met with "NO" we are not accepting this and accommodations were made for me to work from home (where I was moving)!!  That was the best thing that could have happened for me.  Any other company would have said okay thanks and goodbye!  I will forever be indebted for this. If you want to work for a company that does care this is the one!  

We may have an extensive field staff but our corporate offices keep a staff of no more than 15 at this point in time. We're a tight knit group of people who work side by side day in and day out. 

The company and management are great - I have nothing negative to say about Jonna (CEO) or Kellan (COO). I find them to be a brother/sister duo who truly care not only about the success of their business, but also the success of their employees. There isn't a ton of room for advancement here, but it's an good/steady place to work with decent benefits if you choose to take them. 

Our field staff are a great group of healthcare providers who have been screened thoroughly (work history, background, drug screening, etc) prior to being hired. We strive to find them the best fit within the facilities we work with. If you love communicating, scheduling, and managing people - this would be a good fit for you.

The management at Cascade goes above and beyond to create a welcoming and friendly work culture. Days are filled with laughs between calls, talk of football and the freedom to add your opinion when important matters are being discussed. No one is made to feel lesser than or like they are an outsider. Cascade truly welcomes every new employee with open arms and all the training they need to learn their position. While Cascade is a fast paced environment where changes are frequent they also make a point to show their appreciation for your hard work in many ways. You get to draw out of a bunch of giftcards to pick one for your birthday, extra days off around some holidays to be with your family and even a quarterly reward program where you win prizes just for doing your job! Prizes include everything from giftcards, airpods or even a Flat screen tv! 
I come to work excited to conquer our daily goals and leave work free of stress ready to focus on my family. What more could you ask for? 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Make your own schedule. Pick where you wanna go, and you don't hate working anymore. Sure you walk into the unknown, and normally get the cruddy assignments, but if you absolutely hate a place, you don't have to go back! Staffing managers are amazing ppl and really look after you. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You are always going somewhere new with no orientation. So you're always looking for things. Super verifying residents/pts. So if you can't handle always looking confused, then ya it can be stressful. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment differs since it's agency. However, the staffers, managers and HR are all AMAZING people. They always have your back. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Pick up and shift, show up, and go ok where is my essentials stuff, figure out how to login to the systems, and do the best you can!
