What is the best part of working at the company?
Very friendly environment and all the workers are very helpful. They work above and beyond their duties.Once tou in your family and their is always someone around for you if you need anything ❤️. Best facility I've ever worked at.Last thing they have the best personal you've ever worked with, you're going ro feel right at home.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I didn't have any stressful part from the staff or residents. The only stress you will have I when you short staff, but that's any job.We have coworkers that will help no matter what. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's awesome because everyone there gets along with each other and they are very professional 😀. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typically, my first thing to do is to check my resident's ro make sure they have a smile on they face 😄 and to talk to my charge nurse of any changes. and I also make rounds with the other cna's to let them know if they need me I'm here ro help.Team playing is a big part of our job at Cascades.

Hands down the most toxic work environment ever! Building is run on cliques and favoritism, so those of us who actually act like adults and want to provide the best care possible are scorned and outcast for it. Census is low, so hours have been cut in all departments and morale is low. You get yelled at if you have to stay any amount of time past shift, whether it is to finish paperwork or because someone else was late. Forget being fully staffed because it will never happen, this facility has chronic daily call ins with no consequences. Nurses are expected to do everything in the nurse role plus half of a CNA role on a daily basis. Certain aides get treated better than everyone else and are allowed to sit around and do nothing, but if you bring it up you get in trouble. Residents have filed grievances here for neglect and their papers were disposed of and they were accused of lying. If you truly care about yourself, your family, your neighbor, do not ever let them work here, live here, rehab here!!

Orchard Park is gave me a lot of CNA experience but it is a tough job. I worked night shifts and PM shifts mostly. The night shifts are a little easier in some ways because there is not as much going on but you are still on your feet for the full 8 hours. The PM shifts were much busier with PT, getting the patients to dinner (feeding, delivering, and tracking food intake) and getting the patients dressed, to the bathroom, and ready for bed. 

As with any CNA job, there is a lot of changing briefs, taking people to the bathroom, and dealing with many other dirty jobs. I would take vital signs, measure blood glucose levels, give showers, transfer patients to and from bed, empty catheters, and much more. Usually, I was assigned 10-15 patients during my shift.

The most rewarding part is to be able to talk to the patients and help them feel loved. I liked the job for this reason, but it was hard work and not enough pay for all the work that we did.

The company didn't think the kitchen was worse getting us help through an agency like they do the nurses and the AIDS and the kitchen is what makes the big wheels go round and round if you think about it

Very outstanding I enjoyed my job you know I had to work a lot of overtime because it was only three of us in the kitchen because the company company wouldn't get us help in the kitchen from an agency when we asked cuz there was only three of us that ran a kitchen that needed at least five people to run it

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I worked 12 to 14 hours a day 5 days a week so imagine what my days were like there cooking doing my own dishes and answering the doorbell when the patients wanted something I was very very busy and then I got injured and now I'm on medical leave so I was a very very busy busy cook

I think ultimately the job I had was great and the people I worked with were awesome too. I have a lot of good memories from a personal stand point and I will always be happy to help those who needed it most. There were definitely some more intense moments with co-workers and staff but I think it overall was because everyone cared about their area of the building and their position. I do feel like the marketing/admissions position had many ups and downs and you could easily be scape goated for a low census (number of residents) while not getting a lot of credit for times of a higher census. It's a position that you can control a lot of things, but I don't think you have the ultimate control that corporate expects you to have.

the residents are what make it all worth it. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
no communication between management and staff. Management will sneak around and find ways to get rid of you if you do not fit in the "Click" that is the front office staff. They lie to the residents and staff and treat staff like lower class citizens.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
very "Clickish" like high school. Not professional at all. no respect for any staff lower than management. However, If you are related to a management staff, you are spared the drama and rude, disrespectful behaviors.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I do my job. I am not there to make friends or pretend I am in high school. I am there for the residents who deserve more than this company can give.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I enjoyed talking to the residents and taking their orders for meals. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Getting the dishes done on time was hard for me. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was good but there was tension in both the servers and the kitchen staff. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come in, get clocked in, check or set up salad bar if later in the day. Check drinks and desserts. Greet residents as they come and sit at their tables. Make sure there is coffee and water at all tables. Begin taking orders when chef is ready. When meals are completed and dishes have been cleared, cleaning the dining room and taking all the tablecloths and napkins to laundry to be done. Resetting the tables with silverware, glasses and napkins.

I would go to work at about 7:00 am and i would do a trash run for the entire building, and by the time i would finish with that there would be about 2 more employees and we would go and clean all the entrances, main bathrooms, and nurses stations, and then we would all go and clean the dining room once all the residents were done eating breakfast, then we would each go and clean the residents room we had been assigned for the day. 

I enjoyed working with the majority of my coworkers and i was able to keep busy so my days would go by fast. I also really enjoyed getting to know all the residents. 

The management was very good they were good with any help that any of their  employees. 

I think the only hard part about any of the job was whenever i would see any of the residents having a hard time or whenever any of them would pass away.

I loved working at Orchard Park, every day going to work was fun and exciting, I always went with a positive attitude and loved it so much I enjoyed working. I learned a lot about the right care to provide and the way to give it. I learned what not to do, from other co-workers or mistakes I made. The management is caring and willing to work with you. They love their employees and strive to make it a great place to work and as for the residents, live. The hardest part of the job for me was when we were short on CNA staff. Only because since we had so many residents, we had too many residents to one CNA. The most enjoyable part of the job was the interaction with the residents, and being that "angel" for them that is always there to help them in the every day needs that they can't do on their own anymore.

You typically had 2 floor nurses to cover 40+ patients. Most of these patients were post-acute. Mostly post joint replacement surgeries or like conditions. A few long-term care patients with occasional hospice relief patients. There was never enough time to do all of the "required" nursing cares. Most of your 20+ patients needed a full body assessment DAILY to satisfy medicare requirements in addition to all of their medications and other treatments, dressing changes, etc. This meant there was NO time to get to know your patients. There wasn't really a work culture because you never saw most of the other employees, including the CNAs. The people I did get to know where great to work with.
