Typical day for my position was slow. The manager openly admitted often that she was sorry there wasnt enough work for me and the other member of the department. Then why did I get hired then? There was no empathy with management which is surprising because they would gloat about how long they'd been in the industry. Professional experience doesnt necessarily make you a leader- how you use that experience and how you interact/treat people does. It always felt like there was an unspoken clique and no matter what you said or did, you would never fit in. In my department if someone asked you a question that didnt involve your exact job, you were supposed to tell them you cant help them even if you could assist. You could actually get in trouble for that which is unheard of for me. It didnt seem like people cared about the overall mission, just what they could do for themselves to make themselves look good. You do get a decent amount of pto but you cant use it for the first 90 days. My department closed for federal holidays so depending on when in the year you start, youll end up with a lot of unpaid holidays. 

A typical day at Catholic Care Center as a CNA, first thing to do is waking people up, helping them look nice or take a bath( what ever they need, to get ready in the morning) , feed everybody, take them to chapel and then chart. Hopefully their will be a neighborhood activity like bingo or the residents can take a nap after chapel,but not before we take everyone to the bathroom and feed them a snack. You can expect "screamers", "yellers", "biters", "fighters", and "runners" to throw you some unexpected excitement for the day, which will bring you to the hardest part of the day when administration or management will check with your work on the floor to see how well (or not so well) you are doing your job. You'll learn about team work and you'll also learn what its like to work short staffed! Sometimes, as a CNA you will take the fall for other people's mistakes, but I wouldn't worry about that too much because you become so busy, people stop noticing who did what! So cancel your gym membership because you're getting your moneys worth right at work!This job is not always rewarding but I can say it provides enough excitement for a life time.

This review Shouldn't be a 1 and shouldn't be a zero. If you are a good patient, staff, and family advocate then don't work here! They don't like their staff telling the truth to anyone. Let alone they can't accept the truth.

If you want a job that allows you to advocate and do it ethically and to be the best then please save yourself the headache and DO NOT APPLY.... As medical professionals we are trained to do things ethically and morally and the 2 mgmt below the CEO are the biggest hypocrites, and they don't like families knowing the truth, and if you bring up the issues to them.. it is not addressed appropriately and furthermore they hold certain people to higher standards than others.. which means those held to a higher standard eventually get in trouble for stuff that others on the same level or higher are doing and the others don't get in trouble at all.  VERY Clicky.  

Unfortunately, some of the staff that is employed at catholic care is not working there to give their 100% care to the patients, they are there to collect their checks and leave. They do not have love, care, compassion and the patient as their first priority! I felt like the patients care was the last on their list for priorities. Many patients suffered when it came to their care. Some of the nurses neglected the needs of the patients and were very rough when it came to handling them. They talked inappropriately in front of the patients. The environment was always negative. I do not want to be a part of a disrespectful, sad, and neglectful environment when these patients need us the most. Some of the patients had. I other family except for us! I want to give my all to every patient I am assigned to and show them love compassion and care. We are there to make them feel safe and take care of their needs to the fullest.

I started working at Catholic during first shift. My main job was to pass medication to the residents and help them with their activities of daily living(ADLs). We would get them up and ready for the day. Serve them breakfast and lunch and do activities with them. 
I had to change to third shift because I needed to be home to take my daughter to school in the morning. My duties on third shift includes light housekeeping, doing laundry, toileting the residents and passing medication. I get a long well with my co-workers because I am a team player and always put the residents first. The hardest part of the job is losing one of my residents. You get to know them and they become like family. The most enjoyable part of my job is when the residents appreciate and say thank you to me. when they smile at me and tell me they love me. This means a lot to me because I work in a memory care unit and the residents have dementia. so when they appreciate me I know its because I have taken good care of them.

Once within the Memory Care unit, my time belongs to the residents. I am in charge of coordinating care given within the unit. Staffing usually includes four CNA's and four CMA's plus myself. There is forty residents plus adult day care visits throughout shifts. I collaborate with physicians, speech therapists, PT/OT and other health care team members in order to give the quality care needed. I understand the needs of our residents, their families and staff and am blessed with this position. I enjoy observing staff and resident interactions within the compassionate and loving environment. I enjoy giving care and spending time with residents' and their families. It is a challenge daily due to our residents' cognitive deficiencies. The most beautiful part of this position is being present during a clear moment displayed by a resident, and meeting a true piece of their heart.

Working at Catholic care center has been a huge blessing in my life. Strangers that turned family. Residents I love like their my own family. I first started going to CCC when I was working through an agency. They recognized my hard work and dedication and bought my contact from the agency and hired me full time as an CNA . Since then I've been promoted twice within one year. People have their own opinions about Catholic Care Center. But I'll tell y'all this. If you come and do the job your hired for you will be noticed. And if you come just to "Get a check" and don't have the love and  passion for the field you picked you will also be noticed.!

I worked the day shift, the only things that I remember is that I worked a lot of my days off due to low salaries and no benefits. I did get to know a lot of the residents, and became very close, they knew that they could depend on me to help them at any time.Most of the staff was very helpful. I worked well with the Nuns there, and we became friends.As for anything else I really don't remember.My typical day was getting patient's up, dressed, breakfast, some baths, some patient,s back to bed, made beds in between taking patient's to restroom, up for lunch, back to bed for naps. Taking some vitals and weights. Interacting with the patient's was the most enjoyable part of my job. I don't remember any thing else.

there are some great people that work there, but sometimes they expect a lot from the managers and supervisors. They  expect myself to do two job positions and have enough time to completely redo activity planning for 35 rooms. plus be able to do every activity 6 times a day while working around the CNA's that don't help with activities. I wish it was better and better training for certain postitions. also they do have a mother's room that is great for a nursing mom. the time clock situation could be better because for some of the halls its on clear oppistie ends of the facitily. the nurse managers change every few months so its hard to get things done for the program they want.

The workplace culture is highly unprofessional and disruptive. Rather than prioritizing patient care and quality outcomes, management and staff frequently focus on employees’ personal matters. The environment resembles a poorly managed organization where professionalism and collaboration are lacking. Staff members often form cliques and appear to target new employees perceived as competition, with little to no intervention from management. Additionally, employees should exercise caution when accruing PTO, as there have been instances where staff were terminated before having the opportunity to use or cash out earned time.
