This company (mainly Walk-in Care) exhibits significant shortcomings in terms of supervision, and leadership, making it a less than ideal choice for potential employees.

There are notable issues with the work environment, which is perceived as extremely toxic and hostile. Additionally, some healthcare providers demonstrate a lack of competence, which can have serious implications for medical care.

Furthermore, the presence of backstabbing and contradicting behavior among coworkers, as well as the incompetence of certain supervisors in effectively managing their teams, contributes to a negative work atmosphere. The company appears to foster cliques and favoritism (mainly from management - “Abbey Rhodes”), leading to concerns about impartiality and fairness.

Moreover, employees feel hesitant to voice their concerns or complaints due to fears of termination or being subjected to isolation and becoming targeted. These factors should be taken into consideration by individuals contemplating applying for positions within this organization.

During my tenure at the company, I observed instances where certain employees were singled out and subjected to undue scrutiny by members of the management team (“Abbey Rhodes”), resulting in termination for minor infractions.
The scheduling process appears to lack fairness and consistency. There is a discernible discrepancy between how "favorite" employees are treated compared to others by management, with a perceived lack of accountability for the former, while the latter are expected to exert significant effort in their roles.

These observations raise concerns about the company's commitment to equitable treatment of its employees and adherence to fair and transparent management practices. It is crucial for organizations to foster an inclusive and supportive work environment that promotes equal opportunities for all team members, irrespective of personal preferences or affiliations.

Prospective employees are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and thoroughly evaluate the workplace culture and management practices before considering employment here!  

This job was prime example of what I will never allow myself into again. Extremely oppressive environment with SEVERE bullying and horrible management. Unfair pay. New employees got paid more than people that have worked for years. Employee got laid off due to closing a practice yet a year and a half later they suddenly had enough money to open a brand new practice. Favoritism at its finest here. Management listens to the employee who lie and intentionally cause drama and issues with other employee they don’t like others for NO reason. Training is awful but you’re blamed for not knowing. There are very few rational people. Your job is always at risk- if they want you gone, they’ll find any way and it will be done. I wasn’t fired personally but I’ve definitely seen it happen. If you try to make a positive difference by correcting these oppressive behaviors and sharing with management, NOTHING gets done. If you don’t have mental health issues, you will by the time they’re through with you. I have no idea why I stayed but please don’t do what I did. Don’t even get started here. The business won’t change. Honestly, trust these reviews. I’ve read all and I’ve personally seen the truth in every one of them. They have high turnover for a reason. People don’t even stay 2 weeks before they’re out the door. They are the wise ones...

Working for C.V.F.P. was a good experience over all. I enjoyed my job very much and actually looked forward to going to work. The pay was well below average and management often over looked situations that were brought to their attention. I learned a great deal outside of my training as a radiology technologist, which I value. Learning skills such as injections, lab testing, and how to assist in various procedures was the best part about my time there. I enjoyed getting to know my patients and their families. The hardest part about my job was seeing patients diagnosed with a terminal illness and/or that the patient had passed. Unfortunately the work load was not always shared by all and nothing was ever done about that. I over looked this often because I enjoyed what I was doing and prefer to be busy vs sitting and seeing things pile up. However, this did not work in my favor in the end.

The work environment was very stressful. Things were not implemented properly. When something new was introduced it was just thrown at the employees and then expected perfection without proper training or allowance to learn what was new. They were inadequately staffed because they could never keep enough employees to fill the slots due to high turnover rates. A typical work day would include opening our doors at 8 am with 15+ patients waiting outside the door with only 2 opening nurses and 1 opening provider. Our system would crash suddenly and often. The IT Dept was horrible to work with, with an exception of may 3  employees. The most enjoyable part of the job was the patient flow. Although we had these set backs, if we had a good team we got it done without a issue.

It is a very unpleasant place to work. There are a lot of things that could have been done differently but I am not there anymore and couldn't be more happier. I run into patients when I am out and they have nothing good to say about CVFP-IM. I am just so thankful I am not a part of that organization anymore. I miss the patients and caring for them but that is it and I do not recommend this place for employment. When I first started there it was Medical Associates of Central Virginia which was awesome but then we merged with CVFP in 2018 and that's when it began to all change and for the bad. We were never fully staffed due to management. Some worked harder than others but it didn't matter because management would still find fault in the good work you were doing. It's a very toxic work environment. Do not waste your time. 

Its a good start to work if your looking for a transitional job to make dividends. I enjoyed my coworkers however the upper corporate management was not the best at communicating and really made it not possible to be transparent with other workers. It was great to learn the process and help patients however at times could be cut throat and cliquish ( of other employees).  When the company came to a point where it was merging and letting employees go, they didn't ever give a week notice. So as far as respect from dealings on such events was handled poorly to make someone else new in management position do all the termination work which I found very unprofessional. I took this as a learning experience from the skills developed.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Benefits were amazing, great end of the year/Christmas/AWV bonus, wonderful providers to work for.

I honestly have no negative remarks to make about my employment experience there. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Workload was achievable, teamwork was good, providers were willing to help out where needed. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Triaging scheduled patients, assisting provider with procedures and tests as needed.

This is absolutely one of the worst companies when it comes to healthcare, supervision, and leadership. Not only do you have a toxic and hostile work environment, but almost incompetent medical care by some providers. Some co workers are backstabbing and contradicting and some supervisors are completely incompetent and incapable of managing employees. This company is extremely click-ish and plays favorites very well. Employees are afraid to speak up due to termination or being black boxed. Be VERY aware when applying here. 

New employees have to make older employees comfortable. Should be the other way around, trainers watch orientation class and make judgments off a glimpse. Never try to actually get to know employees. Claim to be better than Centra Health, way worse. Lots of favoritism, backstabbing and gossip. Once you disagree with a “favorite” count your days. They get away with it because VA is an at-will state and they’re an at-will employer.

If you're not part of the " snob squad " at admin then you can forget about it. Racist managers at the walk in. Gossips openly about staff. No confidentiality in any of the offices. Highly frowned upon to have your own opinion.  Hard work makes no difference ,  only being in a clique and who you're friends in admin. No wonder nobody stays. 










in taking the surveys once you so you can guarantee they're not kept secret. If you confide in admin they are making sure management is privy to that supposed provate conversation.
