Used to be a strong company with kind HR/management that encouraged and inspired employees, and lead with trust and integrity. New HR and supervisors no longer represent these values. Leaders are inconsistent with instructions, and when asked for clarification about the changing instructions, they deny that they ever changed anything, even when there are emails/paper trails proving that what they said on Monday is different from what they are telling you on Wednesday. They did not make time to learn the intricacies of the roles they are supposed to be overseeing, so they did not learn how to be helpful, and at the same time are blaming and aggressively confronting the employees who followed their changed instructions for any resulting confusion. They refuse to take accountability for their actions and are frequently unavailable for discussion. New leadership is disrespectful, aggressive, and condescending to employees that have been with the company for years, they share screenshots of private conversations with the team, gossip openly, and seem to be actively working to pit employees against each other. You cannot even go to HR for help, because HR is close friends with the new supervisors and seems to prioritize their personal relationships in spite of multiple employees expressing the same concerns and discomfort. Workplace culture became toxic and feels like a high school clique, the most enjoyable part of the job is leaving. I learned that unfortunately, not all corporate leadership is mature or trustworthy, and your personal connections matter more than how effective you are as a leader.

While working as a Quality Inspector Technician, I witnessed an unprofessional environment. I was spoken to inappropriately by a senior team member over an issue that wasn’t my fault. After reporting it, I was laid off. Another coworker was also let go after a difficult interaction with the same individual. I also observed production leads yelling at employees on multiple occasions.

Management did not appear to address these issues, and favoritism seemed to play a role in decision-making. A few years back, the company laid off nearly half the staff, including upper-level positions. While I was employed there, one of my coworkers in quality, and one of the production leads left the job without giving notice, which says a lot.

There is little job security, poor working conditions (such as no air conditioning in the warehouse), and high health insurance costs. I would not recommend this company to those seeking a stable or respectful work environment. 

Work-life balance
People complain about this or that, but work is what you make it. You want to make more money, then work for it because there is room for advancement here. Most of the time we laugh and joke while working to get the job done. I have learned a lot here and plan on staying. I've worked for places that don't do half of what this company does for their employees.The bad reviews you read on here, I'm pretty sure it's from those that were probably let go because of their own doings. I absolutely love this place and love my teammates!

This company is a very good company to work for. They really care what their workers think. They resolve issues quickly and fairly. I am so blessed to work for such a great place.

typical workday requires you to work in many different areas.  Pay is competitive but if you reach cap, they will terminate you when convenient to accommodate lower salaried workers.  Management uses reported numbers through a new system that is not flawless to determine progress of work and work of employees. Also, management does not take into count that those numbers will be manipulated by shady management and that those system vulnerabilities are used for personal gain. Workplace culture will prove you will need to have thick skin and no hair on your tongue to work here.  No nice guys allowed! and no support if you like to do the right thing.  you will be outed and left to fend for yourself...that may be the hardest part of your job.  If this is sounds good to you then good luck & Godspeed.

This used to be an amazing place to work.  The customer service department was a great place to be employed.  The company used to care about the customers and making a great impression.  Since Champion took over and the management was replaced, it is all about the dollar.  The "family company" went right out the window and now you are a number that earns a paycheck and can be fired for anything.  If you are looking for a paycheck and that is it, this is your place.  If you are looking for a company where you can grow, learn and be appreciated, look elsewhere.  If you do decide to try Champion, be sure that you get all in writing and take LOTS of notes to refer back to.

Not a good place to work for. The place is a complete mess. Management has no idea what they’re doing but try to put on a good show. At first it was nice, they used to plan a lot of company events, they used to cater us food quite frequently but the company has gone down hill. They let go over 20+ employees because “sales are down” and mainly got rid of employees that were getting paid the highest in each department, some that were long time employees. There is no place for advancement within this company, they have no idea what they’re actually doing. Benefits are not the best, there are no cost of living increases, no sick days, no vacation days. Low hourly wages. They pile on more work but do not give out raises. Warehouse machinery is very outdated, and mostly broken.

Your not just a number here, everyone knows your name.  

The company is very community and family oriented.  They do allot for the Marion County Kidney Foundation.  We do allot of fun fundraisers and lunches to raise money for them.  Also the Marine Corps toys for tots is supported here along with food drives for the less fortunate. 

We also have company wide holiday lunches catered and free lunch days for great sales months.  They also provide flavored ice truck catering throughout the hot summer months to show appreciation for the work we do in the heat.

The work environment is laid back but fast paced with some goal driven inspiration thrown in.  It's definitely a team effort that makes us successful here.

This company doesn't want to pay it's employees a decent wage or provide team members where needed. The work is hard. There is a large amount of lifting involved. They promised for an entire year to hire help, because the position I worked in was actually for a two person team, but never did so. The job wore me down and stressed me out to the point that my health was at risk. You will work a job for two for the hourly wage of one and it will not matter because you will be so worn out physically that you can barely walk. Then you get to work the weekends too. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The support staff who were in place when I worked there for 18 years. And the quality of products that you could count on.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When new ownership came in and started cutting commissions and firing long time reps.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Haven't worked for them the past four years. No comment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Not applicable. As an Independent Contractor I repped several companies at once, so there were days I spent time on other lines.
