What is the best part of working at the company?
The regular nursing staff is awesome. Unfortunately, Charlene Manor treats them very poorly. The agency people they have brought in have taken over. Agency comes in when they want(if they want), leave when they want, and do whatever they want while they are there(mostly sitting around staring at their phones all day. These agency staff lack any compassion, empathy, and any accountability for their actions, and Charlene Manor management accepts and even encourages this behavior.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Trying to work with agency staff who refuse to do anything which requires physical work, and are rude and demeaning to residents and lack any basic compassion to work in the health care field.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Completely negative and disgusting.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Miserable, having to do the work of 2 or 3 people because of staff shortages or agency staff refusing to do any actual work that requires them to get up off their chairs and away from their phones.

At the start of my job at this facility, I enjoyed working there. there was a feeling of care, there were managers that gave us CNAs a fair share of patients, a number of people that you could actually  care for without running from one patient to the other. Slowly  there were never enough staff and if there were callouts, there would not be a replacement, instead one CNA would be pulled from one unit to cover the other leaving their unit short.  Finally you were left to your own devices. I  walked after the 4th day that I was to work by myself in a Dementia unit with3 potentially unsafe patients to look after. These pts could not be left alone.

I worked third shift and it was always a wonderful caring facility. The coworkers where always friendly and willing to help in a time of need. We did rounds which consisted of checking, changing and re-positioning the residents, if they got up to make sure they stayed safe.

Very nice facility. Under all new management and the teamwork is really showing.
Always hiring from within the building and great opportunities for advancement. 
Can be hard at time as ALL medical fields are but definitely worth your while and always getting encouraged.

I always felt like the coworkers were very click-y even though most of the aides were older and had been working there for a while. They took advantage of me because I was new and it was my first job. Management is nice.

Always short staffed. Management smiles and nods if you speak up, but nothing changes.
Chandelier in the lobby and diapers in the wards. Just another day in Long Term Care.

Not my favorite, it’s like working at a jail with all of our new unfair rules. They aren’t very nice to staff and bribe you into working shifts with barley any help
