DO NOT WORK HEAR!!! They do not appreciate their employees at all. You will be worked to death and have no time to spend with your family and friends. They don't take care of their equipment everything is from the stone age. Management will lie about everything and stab you in the back in a heart beat. You will work 50 hours a week or more. Most of the time it's more like 60 to 70 hours a week and they pay you in there own words "Chinese overtime" which is like $5 a hour if you're lucky for every hour you work over 40 hours!! Yeah RIP OFF and in the summer no a/c in the building or in any of their hundred year old fleet of delivery trucks or company cars. Which it doesn't matter because you're on the side of the road broke down most of the time anyways. They don't buy anything new it's all auction equipment that's barley alive and expect you to risk you're life just so they can stick the saved money in there pocket. When i quit they didn't even pay me my last week's pay. If you're looking for a soft drink company to work for i would highly recomend going to a real place like PepsiCo or Coke.

Piedmont Cheerwine Bottling company is a family owned company that produces, bottles and distributes beverages within the trade. This is a cut throat job in a stressful work enviornemnt within the company. Good is never good enough and bad is always worse. They have continued to overload employees while cutting and capping pay growth as well as promotional opportunities. They continue to take advantage of their sales and driving teams. One of the absolute worst places you can apply to if you have your CDL. If you are looking for a career, this is not the place for you. They want people that can come in an work hard without investing in their profit management programs. they don't want to invest in their employees. if you are looking for a handful of paychecks over a 3-6 month period, this is the perfect place for you.

I started as a part time merchandiser and then became a full time merchandiser shortly after. When you first start training, it takes longer to learn the stores and days are longer, but once you get used to it you get a good system going and are done earlier. My favorite things about the job are using a company car, having great benefits that are not expensive to me, getting to know my customers, and having potential to move up when a position opens. The managers have been really good to me and there was no issue when I needed to take time off for my grandmother's funeral even though I had just started. They are also quick to help if I ever have any issues with a store. Overall, if you're lazy and just like to complain this isn't the place for you, but if you are willing to work and have a good work ethic, you'll enjoy working for Cheerwine. Plus, you get an employee discount on all the products we distribute.

Routes include roughly 7-15 stores per day depending on location, chain, and how short staffed the company is from day to day (which is is a lot of the time due to high turnover). Most merchandisers drive their own cars (with mileage at 31 cents). There are company vehicles but it's a hodgepodge of old, busted rattletraps that probably aren't legally roadworthy. Even if you can reasonably finish your route in less than ten hours, management gets on you to 'slow down' or come back to the warehouse to help stack pallets. If you're paid hourly, nbd until you hit 40 hours at which point they pay half time, which seems kind of illegal to me. But if paid by piecework, you're putting in more hours for the same money. If you want to do merchandising, go to the other soda companies or that one big chip company. Don't even bother with this place.

Cheerwine of Asheville is a pretty good place to work. Let's be honest, you can find things that you don't like or would like to change no matter where you work.

The good things about Cheerwine are that if you learn how to do you job, they do not stand over you or breathe down your neck about it. They just expect you to go out and do your job. It's that simple and that's pretty nice.

The hours are a bit longer than most traditional jobs but probably no more, if not a little less than most other businesses in this type of industry.

I started as a merchandiser at Carolina Bottling Co. I trained and worked my way up to a driver. I delivered soft drinks to grocery stores, gas and convenient stores here in the Greenville and Mauldin area. Very fast paced, I had a lot of stops each day and so much ground to cover. The hardest part of the job was actually the impossible which is to make everyone perfectly happy. Not everyone at that particular day or moment is having the best day as you may be. The best and really only solution to that is to show people you do care. Give people you full attention and do the best job you can

Cheerwine gives employees the opportunity for engagement and promotion from within.  Cheerwine has been a career plan I hope to stay with until retirement.  The benefits are awesome, they even pay every employee a yearly bonus based off of years of service in December yearly.  Management does not micro-manage me. I have been here for 15 years now...the longest I have ever stayed working for one organization.  You are respected and recognized for your contributions.

We've been through a lot of positive changes over the last several weeks and I can see an improvement in the overall morale and atmosphere.  The type of business we work in is very physically demanding and can be stressful, but the support to help you be successful is definitely in place. We often see managers out, helping our drivers, merchandisers and sales reps, get through their days. I've worked for a few different companies in this type of business and Cheerwine in Raeford is definitely heading in a great direction!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Its not a pleasure at all , they don't communicate what so ever. The higher ups are all on different pages and your the last one to find out anything. Don't waste your time trust me.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Communication isn't key , they expect you to stay out doing stores when in fact other people are doing the same stores you were told to go to. Waste of time. But hey you get paid right?!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
No one is on the same page , and the managers all think there better.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long and full of disappointment

start by driving to your first location out of many and go to the shelves and coolers and see what's needed. Head to back room and put everything on a float to take to the shelves. After failing shelves, make sure product in back room is rotated and organized. If no delivery was made to the store, thats pretty much about all there is to it. Not a bad job at all, just low pay and lots of weekends. Management was great and co-workers were awesome.
