CFCU tailors to Chevron and Bechtel employees. In a fast paced environment, the days are time sensitive and can be overwhelming, therefore a lot of self-care and breaks are recommended. Working in the real estate department, we cater to mostly out of state loans. This requires us to coordinate and accommodate to time zones, other than PST. This can be challenging with high volume and minimal staff.  I learned that sacrifice is required, in order to meet personal and departmental goals. Management is supportive, and challenge staff to perform on continuous higher levels to meet goals. There is a  high regard for those who work over and beyond their duties. Co-workers are supportive and can work in a team environment. The hardest part of the job is the challenge to gain more closings month after month, without change to increase staff. The most enjoyable of the job, is the impact that you have to the client/member, knowing that you helped them achieve their home and that you did so, with the help of your colleagues.

This company has a toxic work environment driven by poor leadership and a lack of genuine support for employees. Management bullies those they dislike and retaliates against anyone who dares to speak up, creating a culture of fear and intimidation. HR claims to conduct “investigations,” but nothing is ever done to prevent further retaliation. Employees are subjected to constant micromanagement, leaving little room for autonomy or professional growth. The overwhelming workload and lack of work-life balance make it an unsustainable place to work, contributing to an alarmingly high turnover rate. If you value a healthy and supportive workplace, look elsewhere.

While a credit union employee is typically assigned more work than non-credit union employees are accustomed to, this CU pays much better than most CUs.

There is a great leadership training program for those who wish to train for advancement in any department.  Management is friendly and approachable.

My job in particular is rather stressful due to working with upset borrowers who are suffering from hardship,or are in default and in litigation.

What makes my job enjoyable is the staff, my manager, and the occasional events that CU has for its staff.

CLUELESS!!!!  management has no idea what is going on , on the front lines. these managers who leave at 2pm have all these bright ideas but have know idea what is working or more so not working. no communication between departments. no training. no teamwork. low morale. environment is very 8th grade. disproportionate number of female and same sex employees create an almost reverse sexism environment. large number of employees simply dont want to be bothered even when their communication is vital. many employees in the vital positions are either bullies or just flat out creepy.

I described the culture as both relaxed and fast-paced, which sounds like an oxymoron.  But "relaxed" is how I'd describe the vibe - it's an informal, casual workplace, which I love.  Fast-paced is how I'd describe the work itself.  There is a lot going on, and I have never been bored here as I have at prior jobs - which is a plus from my perspective.

The size is perfect.  At about 300 employees, the company is big enough to have great tools and resources (like SalesForce), but small enough that everyone gets face time with the CEO.  If you do good work, you WILL be noticed (and the flip side is if you don't, that will be noticed too).

At Chevron FCU our management team was great; our leader always listened to us and we could speak freely and she listened!!. As a manager, they were always resources for you to utilize. I loved my job there and really loved the membership; it was the best place that I worked thus far. My most enjoyable part of the job was helping staff to grow to their potential and loved to help the members financially.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My team was awesome. My direct manager was cool. I learned something’s from her. I felt good there.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Too much going on, seemed chaotic at times.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Open communication, a lot of collaboration. High expectations. Diversity and inclusion was priority along with the employees well being.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Reports. Meetings. Team concerns. Laughter. Fun. Problem solving. Some irritation. Long. So much to do.

I enjoyed working here mainly because of the credit union members. Longtime employee so I pretty much knew all the members that came into the office. Management is absolutly terrible! They expect you to learn everything on your own and get upset when you ask for help and thats usually because they themselves don't know the answers. Marketing and sales are getting pushed on the employees as well and is getting worse as time goes by. They push their empoyees to give financial advice when they really aren't trained to do so.

Supervisor very in consistent and misleading. Managers is not knowledgeable on larger group leadership. Company need more management training for a successful and positive secure work environment. I learned that its not how hard you work or the knowledge you bring to the table, its if they like you as a person and if you are a fit to there group environment is what keep you in their work place.

Lending manager was a nightmare, she played favorites and would bully her employees as well as intimidate them. She exppected miracles to take place. The processing and temporary UW managers are great as help you get the job done. 
Its terrible to watch good employees leave over dishonest practices of management.
