As office manager, I formed a term environment and we all worked together and helped one another. I had revenue goals and order count goals every month. I included the entire office each month and set out our goal and we over achieved each month. Fast pace work flow with strong emphasis on turn around and customer service.
I learned real estate law, insurability issues, reviewed surveys, worked on commercial transactions, handled escrow, talked to attorneys and paralegals throughout the day. My management style is to take the time to think about an issue and how the out come would most benefit our office, the employee and find resolutions that worked out the best for everyone. I am direct. I make decisions all day regarding underwriting, office work flow, employee performance. I like a team atmosphere. I loved my job. I enjoyed gong to work everyday. Each transactions was new and gave me the ability to learn and grow in my field. I represented my company and my office with the upmost professional standards. I am fair and I always consider both sides of a conflict. I am a go to person who handles any situations. I value my career and my reputation. I am professional. I am outgoing and friendly. I developed a large customer base and maintained excellent relationships with my customers. I enjoyed everything about my job. I was/am a great team leader and motivator. I can multi-task with ease. I can work in a team environment or individually.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Benefits, bonus. Nothing more beyond that. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
High volume stress, micro-managing, low pay, depressing environment, management talks down to employees, management takes personal issue out on personnel, absolutely no fraternizing allowed, employees have nobody to back them, upper management’s ego creates work problems. Upper management creates false reasons to dispose of employees. It’s just a horrible place to work. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Miserable environment. No fraternizing allowed. Employees are expected to stay in their offices working and nothing else. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The work is never ending. Answering one email after another, opening new jobs, working on current jobs. Management has no technical skills and operates as if it’s 1995 utilizing outdated work methods and expects everyone else to do the same. Management micromanages employees with one or two exceptions. If employees attempt to talk at all she will find reasons to bust it up. You end the day with more work on your desk than you started with and all management will do is complain.

I learned something new everyday. When I worked customer service In the Title Department, I would have to pull up various plot maps for realtors so they can start a radius search specifically piece out certain areas they were interested in Finding eager homeowners that wanted to sell their properties. 
   I learned there can be a lo5 of different things that can be attached to a property. There are liens, judgements, they can be in tax default or be in foreclosure, they can be put under trusts, LLC’s (Limited Liability Company) as ownership, there are land easements, companies working and installing things on that property that have to be filed and recorded with the accessors office, there are grant deeds, inter-spousal transfers, homestead declarations, CC&R’s (Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions), there are HOA’s to go through, property management companies that act on the owner’s part, the Deed of Trust (Trust Deed) Is the financial responsibility of one’s real property. There is an example of all the different documents I never knew even existed before, that is what I have learned new everyday for 3 years o4 so

This place would be decent with the removal of certain management. They really should make them check their egos at the door. There is no regard for personnel and management will talk down and condescendingly to subordinates. They pile work on you without any appreciation for the hard work you give them. If you’re looking to receive kudos for a job well-done, you will only hear complaints with a lot of micromanaging as more work is dumped on you. Upper management swears and drops F-bombs like a badge of honor and in-office management is self-serving and expects personnel to be her personal assistants. The only time that differs is when upper management is around. Employees are miserable at this location and there is no fraternization allowed or management will break it up. The stress of this place is a constant and many good employees have left to move on to greener employment pastures. You will receive no raises for the stress of this place and the environment resembles nothing but an office of silos.  There are too many places out there that still treat employees with respect. Save yourself the misery and keep looking. 

Formally a residential escrow officer, I was placed in a commercial position with no experience. My manager was at a different branch in Orange County most of the time. I did a very accurate job (even she was surprised) but being in charge of (2) other junior escrow officers was not easy.  They did what they wanted or didn't want to do. (like shopping on line when I needed help with processing) I closed quite a few escrows and was promised commission but never received any because my manager said she had to "look good" because it was a new office. I learned a lot about commercial (leased property) escrows and developmental properties for sub-divisions, but was left on my own. I developed migraines and was seeing a doctor but was laid off right before being employed 1 year (at that branch) without notice. Shortly after that they closed the office.
My previous experience with working in other Chicago Title branch offices were very satisfying and successful and I enjoyed the people I worked with and satisfied with their system and how I was treated by corporate.

I was considered a part-time employee so my instances were slightly different but the atmosphere was work-oriented, coworkers were polite and professional. Management was effective and understanding. My work hours were flexible so long as my work was completed on time and properly. I was asked to work no more than 25 hours a week, but those 25 hours were mine to schedule as long as I kept my meetings and duties and within the county offices on time and efficient. There was always a very little bit of drama going on in the office, but it was easily avoided by those of us who chose to do so. The hardest part of the job would be working with the county to correct mistakes that had been made in the document preparation process. The most enjoyable part of the job would be the experience in general. Even as an entry-level employee I was taught so much and learned so much. It was a great place to gain experience for a real career.

Great place to work! Supportive, character building, the environment overall can be high volume or stagnant contingent on the season, economy fluctuation which can be tough/rewarding in a commission based career that being said, it's ever changing, each transaction is something new so there is always room to grow and further yourself in knowledge of the field.

 I love my team, boss is very generous in bonuses, salary, & benefits, understanding and supportive. We work hard when there is work, and office party hard when celebration/break time is due. 

There's a lot of room for opportunity, growth, promotion, and security; we are a family...Not a single lay-off in '08! 

My only reason for leaving a great environment like Chicago Title is that I want to travel and excel/grow as a person in something I haven't done before and/or somewhere I've never need.

Worked up to 90 hours a week for this company. Brought in many large accounts. When I had to take a break and slow the hours the management began to look for a way to get rid of me. Cut my salary when work first got slow, for three months, then when I asked for it to be restored. I was told it would never be restored. I was given the opportunity to begin a new department that would build Commercial Business. Once I made the transition the County Manager took the ability to market and meet with people away. I was told I was needed in the office full time to answer questions from coworkers. When business did not pick up I was laid off. Shortly after the regional manager contacted me and offered me contract work because my abilities are excellent.

A typical day at Chicago Title is very routine for a Property Searcher like myself.  My main duty is to research residential and commercial properties for open liens, taxes, judgments, etc.  I have searches for our regular clients which steadily flow in at all times and keep me busy for the majority of the day.  I would say the most difficult part of the job would be keeping up with the quota of orders for the day but overall, the job is pretty secure in the Home Equity department.  I have seen several lay off's in other departments but there have been none in my department since I have been there.  Management seems to be wrapped up in their own business for the majority of the day so we really don't see much of them but most of our positions do not require direct supervision of the manager.

Chicago Title was a great place to work. I enjoyed going out in the field everyday and meeting new clients as well as existing clients. I was proud to represent such a wonderful company with great Products & Services to offer clients. This kind of job is very competitive and can have its ups & downs. Its a number game and you have to be very consistent and stay on your offices and clients to earn the business and keeping it. It can be very rewarding when your numbers are up but very disappointing when they go down. I have met a lot great people and build very strong relationship through my job. The co-workers and management team were very supportive and all team players which made our job a little easier. The company also had great incentives as far as Award Ceremonies,
Christmas Parties, benefits, etc...
