I gave Choice this company 1 week. I’ve worked in insurance and billing for years, and appreciated being offered a good starting rate of pay but the benefits were minimal to say the least. With 2% matching one would never be able to retire, and low coverage high deductible insurance with optional HSA is offered. I was hired right after an office move, and tried to be understanding, but I was assigned a partially functioning computer with one screen, on a gross desk with a wonky chair in a small room with 3 other people that talked non stop. Since my access was limited, I was provided incomplete facesheets without necessary info in order to request authorizations making a 2.5 hour phone call pointless. And the facility felt like a pop up telemarketing center using random furniture found on the curb. 
I decided I wasn’t willing to wait until management got the facilities and work listing  in order and left the company. A week later I emailed HR being sure that I didn’t need to pick up the paycheck and was informed pay day would be the following week. They use ADP, and I was able see my logged hours. And to no surprise they somehow forgot to process my pay. With it being ADP I can’t see how it would’ve been missed. I wish it was possible to go into a company such as this that has so much potential and turn things around. But I didn’t get the vibe there was room for any more chiefs.

Never knowing where you  stand. Expected to do multiple positions- do more with less.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The organization promotes a set of cultural pillars, but those standards are not consistently upheld. Expectations are applied selectively, with some individuals held accountable while others are not. Additionally, advancement and influence within upper leadership often appear to be driven more by personal connections than by merit or alignment with the stated values.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at the office often begins with uncertainty, wondering what changes may have been made without prior notice. Communication about new expectations or process updates frequently comes after decisions have already been implemented. As a result, team members are left to react rather than prepare, and are sometimes reprimanded for not being aware of changes that were never clearly communicated. This creates confusion, frustration, and an environment where employees feel set up to fall short rather than supported to succeed.

A typical day involves connecting with referral sources, promoting services, and ensuring patients have access to quality home health care. I’ve learned a great deal about healthcare marketing, patient intake processes, and relationship management.

Management is supportive and responsive, giving me the autonomy to manage my schedule while offering guidance when needed. The culture is collaborative, professional, and patient-focused.

The hardest part of the job is juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, but the most rewarding part is knowing my work directly helps people receive the care they need at home.

The most enjoyable part of the job is building meaningful relationships with referral sources and knowing that your efforts directly help patients receive the home health care they need. There’s a strong sense of purpose and fulfillment that comes from making a real impact in people’s lives while enjoying autonomy and variety in your day-to-day work.


Want to work at a place where favoritism runs wild? Look no further! Want to work at a company where you are not listened to as an employee? Then this is the place for you! Choice has been buying out various hospices around the state and mismanaging them into a sharp census drop. You'll be given an arbitrary caseload that makes no sense based on your proximity to the patients. The investors of this company are upset they haven't received a return on their investment yet and that means they will increase your caseload and require billable visits to patients even if that frequency is inappropriate for them. They'll slash any ancillary benefits (they used to provide a timely charting bonus which was used as leverage when negotiating my salary then did away with that program shortly after I started there.) Their new employee handbook makes it look like you receive more PTO than the old companies structure but if you do the math they slashed around 8-12 hours of PTO per employee across the board. Management will ask for feedback from employees then say they disagree with any constructive criticism anyone provides. Really frustrating to see what Choice management did to a previously decently run organization. 

The workplace culture at this agency is extremely disappointing. Despite being a large, Texas-based corporation, leadership appears to have limited understanding of how home health operations function in Florida. Productivity expectations are very high, while the point system does not adequately reflect the time and effort required to provide quality patient care.

Employee benefits are also lacking. Paid time off is limited and difficult to utilize, and there is no dedicated sick leave. Compensation is competitive; however, many of the other aspects of employment significantly detract from the overall experience.

The agency utilizes HCHB, but ongoing issues within the system remain unresolved, creating additional frustration and inefficiencies for clinicians. Unfortunately, there appears to be a stronger emphasis on financial performance and productivity metrics than on supporting the clinicians who provide direct patient care. The expectation to remain productive every minute of the workday contributes to an unsustainable work environment.

I wouldn’t recommend this agency to anyone with a family. 

I honestly dont have the words to describe how negative I feel about my experience with Choice. 
This company cannot retain staff. The leadership is over abundant, yet no one leads. The only job culture I experienced was sales driven, not patient driven. The training for field staff is a joke. The onboarding is ridiculous. This is one of the most unorganized group of leaders that I've ever experienced. There is a complete lack of structural organization. There are lots of people with fancy titles, but very few worker bees, so the ones who are there are taken for granted and their concerns matter very little to management.
Marketing is their main focus. Regardless of whether there was sufficient staff, intake is pushed, pushed, pushed. The end result is patients wait. wait , wait to get their needs met. It was embarrassing. 
If you want to be overworked and unappreciated, then you're good to go. But if you think that being told to "you tube" how to learn a nursing process that you need further training on is the most utterly ridiculous things you have ever heard, then run away from this company.

Hostile work environment- COO  got involved without my asking and was going to handle things but I retaliated on- threatened on daily basis from the get go that my job was in jeopardy- walk lightly .  Very unprofessional-  I did love the work I was doing and was making headway in my territory. I firmly feel this company needs to regroup their management side before they lose what BDL's are left. They could be an awesome company- but a few bad apples can spoil the bunch.  Sad when you love a job and assisting the community  but with the  constant harassment and threats and picking you have to give it up - going to management get you absolutely NO where, except peace of mind once when you don't have to deal with that .   HR was pleasant and tried to assist but was out of their hands unfortunately- upper management was suppose to fix. 

By far the best working environment and team I’ve ever worked with. I’m unsure of how she does it but our regional manager hires people with heart and who truly love people. It makes such a difference. Great management, who truly cares and will jump in and help where it’s needed anytime. It’s a family environment. Schedules allow for extra time with patients and families and I’ve never had a better on call rotation. So well ran and organized. In 20 years of nursing this is the least stressful and most enjoyable job I’ve ever had. Hospice nursing is hard, but working for a company with such a great reputation and with a team that loves what they do makes it easier.

Above and beyond for our patients from field staff, office administrators and higher ups out of main office in Tyler are not afraid to step up and get involved if needed

Your team in the field can be amazing. However, leadership fails you repeatedly.

Lack of response. Lack of follow through. Poor leadership. Quite frankly if you like feeling invisible and unappreciated ….this is the company for you.

Very poor culture. You are replaceable. And the leadership of Chrissy Baugh leaves so much to be desired.

Disorganization from leadership. So you better be seasoned as you are on your own.
