Home Care and Adult Day Service are both client focused jobs. High value is placed on pleasing and appeasing the client and their family. 

Management is perceived to be controlling and not open to input and collaboration from the employee. Very focused on leadership that demonstrates a "my way or the highway" approach. 

Management often says one thing and lives out the other. The manager is on salary and works long hours both at home and on site. Hourly employees that use time at home to go the extra mile developing a project to better serve clients are disciplined rather than celebrated for their creativity and passion. 

Co-workers demonstrate loyalty to the leadership for self-promotion in meetings, but often complain afterward about lack of support, long hours and no compensation for shared ideas. 

Training opportunities are very high quality and are designed to provide professional understanding of the care of the elderly. CLC offered specific training to lead to certification with the Colorado Alzheimer's Association. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is serving the clients. It is most often quite easy to develop a caring relationship that benefits the client in their emotional, spiritual and physical health at a fragile time of life. 

The hardest part of the job is the necessity of being available at hours that are contrary to healthy family life in most cases. This is the nature of Home Health Care. Secondary to availability is the emotional toll when a client passes away or moves on to the next stage of care in the continuum. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The residents and direct care staff.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The expectation that upper level leadership puts on mid level directors without providing any useful tools or assistance despite being requested multiple times. They fire people in mid level leadership left and right with no replacement or plan in place and just expect other people to figure it out and add those duties into their already impossible daily task list.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible from the top down. You have HR working remotely from home and they are never in the building except to fire people. There is a huge disconnect between upper management and boots on the ground staff. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, anxiety provoking, frustrating and exhausting.

Working with the residents was great IF you had enough time to do your job. Day shift is pounded with a bunch of responsibilities while evening and night shift don't do too much. The DON for AL at Clermont Park does not care about her employees and if you speak your mind you will be pushed out. I've heard great things about the other communities and SNF DON. The company has a great concept in mind and I love that they are Eden. Most of my co-workers are amazing. Hardest part of my job is not being able to do for my residents what they truly need and not being backed by your own manager. The turn over rate for this specific floor is terrible as well which makes it hard on our memory support residents. Beware the DON here.

On a typical day I start working on the duties assigned to me by my supervisor as well as taking responsibility on areas where there is need to offer help and assistance while working with my fellow workers as a team.
I have learned to be patient and more flexible while undertaking my duties.
The management is very considerate and always ready to solve upcoming issues before they get out of control.
The work place culture is intact because new employees are always welcomed aboard and assigned mentors to help them catch up with other workers.
The hardest part of my job is when we loose a client due to an abrupt illness.
The most enjoyable part of my job is when I play a role in a team that look for a solution to a problem affecting our community

The only good part of this job is the personal reward of caring for the residents—they deserve far better. Management does zero due diligence, and medical errors happen far too often without accountability. Lazy coworkers and supervisors create a toxic environment where cutting corners is the norm. Good work ethic isn’t appreciated—in fact, it’s often punished with heavier workloads. The lack of support and professionalism makes it hard to do your job safely or effectively. There were too many coworkers who routinely showed up to their shift late or called out an hour before their shift began as a direct result of favoritism. If you care about quality care and doing things right, this isn’t the place for you. 


I enjoyed my fifteen years with CLC and will always be grateful for the experience and opportunity to work with and for such qualified nurses and piers. Going to work every day was a pleasure because we would rotate floors and duties (never a dull moment). Lifting residents,after a fall, was probably the most difficult to deal with because of my concern for the resident and the possibility of injury. Getting to know the residents and their families over the years and bonding with my co-workers like an extended family.

Christian Living Communities  cares about us.  They give us Hero Pay to take care of COVID residents, they give us a bonus if we pick up an open shift and my manager give me praise on We Honor.  I feel special seeing my name thanked on the computer and my work friends see it too and tell me "good job".   It is like family to go to work.  Only bad thing is my phone don't always work because wifi no good.  I like residents but wish family could visit.  That is hard.  Executive Director is new and always smiles, so nice.  I like it.

I have worked for a many skilled nursing homes during my years.  I have also worked for companies who say they are part of  Eden, but they look and feel the same as everyone else.  
Clermont Park is part of  Eden, and you can really tell.  We are encouraged to have great relationships with our residents, and to give them choices with as much as they can choose.  When they can't choose, I can help them because I know and love them.
My team is my work family.  We have fun, lots in common, and always know that our residents come first.
Everyone should come and work with us.  I love it!

I worked for them as a float pool CNA, I was told I would know 2 weeks in advance what my schedule would be and usually I was calling them 2-3 days in advance to find out when I worked that week. I had a sick child at home and had to stay with them and they were very rude to me about it. I never took advantage of my sick time/pto and was a very responsible person. Also, most of the CNA's who were working on a regular basis were very rude and lazy. As a float pool CNA you will go to all of their locations, none of which are ran the same or have the same policies.

The housekeeping/ laundry management  seem to care about our wellbeing in general, but at the same time have favorites. Meaning, one team member may get talked to for calling in sick one day, and another will call in on a weekly basis and we all have to pick up th e slack consistently, and that seems to be just fine. We work as a team, but it gets hard. We are just expected to do it. Basically management is lacking in this department. We have set schedules and some are not held to that, they make their own.  The company is great otherwise!
