I literally don't know where to start. This is the most unprofessional place I've ever worked at. I'll try to keep everything brief because I have just that much to tell.

First off, the PFS department is a lie. Do NOT work for this dept. The good thing about it is that they don't do background checks so you can lie on your resume and they will offer you the job on the same day. 

When you start, you will be put in a training class. EVERYONE in PFS will be there: Nurse Auditors, Billers, Validators, Vendor Coordinators, Financial Analyst, everyone. You will be taught to do everyone's job but your own and then given a test to take at the end. Of course I failed it because I don't do their job. I was walking on eggshells for MONTHS thinking I was going to lose my job. 

Second, they gave us checks that wouldn't cash. Let me retype this: THEY GAVE US PAYCHECKS THAT WOULD NOT CASH. They messed up my direct deposit (along with everyone else's in my training class.) We had a girl in my training class quit in two weeks b/c she promised her landlord that she would have the money by our first payday. She lost her apartment b/c they gave her a false check. I have bounced more checks working for this company than I ever have IN MY LIFE. I have switched 3 banks in 6 months. I was at Bank of America for 3 hours on company time trying to get that check cashed. They ended up putting me on a pre-paid credit card w/ “associate” on it. I couldn’t pay my bills with that so I ended up having to cash it at the bank. By then, I was being charged for not having a direct deposit. Needless to say, I wasn’t reimbursed for it. 

Third, my benefits didn’t kick in until 3 or 4 months in. When they did, my check was $179 light. HR argued me up and down saying that it was correct. (Mind you, it’s just me on the insurance.) By the time they got it together, they gave me a check for the difference and – surprise – the check didn’t cash.

Third, you have the politics of it all. These reps are promised bonuses and then they won't give them to them. They pick on every small detail in the world. You will be called in the office for every little thing. (The entire CHRISTUS establishment is bad, but especially PFS.) No one follows the dress code, but only the non-favorites get pulled to the side to be talked to. Stuff like that.

Last, they can't keep anyone. Directors, managers and associates have left so much that they replaced the PFS director. They will bring in a new manager and 7 weeks later, she quits. We've lost (I think) 6 managers in the last 2 or 3 months alone. Because of this, the entire 3rd and 4th floors keep getting re-arranged. We’ve moved around so many times I’ve lost count. Because they can’t keep managers in here, they keep re-doing everything. Other departments have been completely replaced in the matter of months. 

My advice: Take the job if you can’t get anything else. Lie on your resume to you get paid better. Lie on your salary. The person who they pick behind you will make more than you so get as much as you can. Otherwise, skip over this one. This whole organization put many families out of work to move here to Dallas and the few that relocated here are getting paid less than we are. This company has screwed over countless families and please believe once they get you they will screw you too.

Prepares daily and monthly reconciliation of cash logs and reconciles any differences between the Business Office and Accounting

Prepares financial reports for financial analysis
Supports the staff with accounting journal entries, and review the completed entries
Coordinates and provide information to internal and external auditors
Prepare PO’s for our contractors
Analyzes and reviews financial transactions
Review and reconcile the general ledgers
Research and respond to customers’ posting inquiries by via phone/emails
Post payments received from Lease tenants to their respective account(s) and to appropriate general ledger account(s) 
Prepared billing statements and invoiced to our lease tenants
Required to post and research in checks that we received from our tenants and vendors in Meditech
Prepared daily deposits, including check copying, coordination of check screening, distribution and filing of attached paperwork
Recorded cash receipts balances and transactions on a daily basis and compiled a month end summary
Provided daily updates of cash receipts not posted to selected internal customers
Process and code invoices in Meditech/Banctec
Reconcile our monthly reports with month end accounts in Meditech and Excel
Prepare monthly close process including journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations in Meditech and Access
Handled customers call regarding their accounts 
Researched customers accounts and reconciled their accounts in Meditech, Access & Banctec
Updated AR collection procedures 
Prepare executive reports and other corporate reporting tasks, as needed 
Worked on additional assignments/projects as assigned by management
Call tenants for collection if payment has not been received by clients

I worked as a Mental Health Care Case Manager at Christus Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas, during the completion of my observation and practicum hours. A typical day involved conducting client assessments, coordinating care, maintaining documentation, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, and helping connect patients with appropriate mental health resources and community services.

During my time there, I gained valuable experience in case management, crisis intervention, interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and working within a hospital-based behavioral health environment. The experience strengthened my clinical skills and gave me a greater appreciation for the complexities of serving individuals with diverse mental health needs.

Management maintained clear expectations and emphasized professionalism, patient care, and adherence to organizational policies. I appreciated the opportunity to learn within a structured clinical setting.

The workplace culture was supportive of teamwork and patient care. However, I personally found that the overall environment reflected viewpoints and workplace dynamics that did not align with my own values and preferences. While others may have had a different experience, I ultimately decided that the setting was not the right long-term fit for me after completing my observation and practicum requirements.

The hardest part of the job was working with patients experiencing significant mental health crises while balancing documentation, coordination of care, and the emotional demands of the role.

The most enjoyable part of the job was building rapport with patients, advocating for their needs, and seeing the positive impact that compassionate, evidence-based mental health care can have on their recovery. Although I chose to pursue opportunities elsewhere after completing my practicum, I remain grateful for the clinical knowledge and experience I gained during my time there.

By far the WORST place I have ever worked in my working career. Management will treat you so bad until they need something from you then they will be friendly. Once they do not need you anymore they will give your work to other people, they will bad mouth you, they will gaslight you and try to get negative reactions out of you to back up the narrative they made up about you. Do not trust one single person at this establishment, they all talk about each other behind each others backs and smile in each others faces. Management will send email after email with screenshots being there "proof" copying everyone in the company they feel are important enough, to try and make you look bad instead of training you properly and leading by example. THERE IS NO TRAINING! People are so afraid of being replaced they will have you running in circles and twiddling your thumbs so they do not feel threatened that their job will be taken.This is justified with "You really have to pay your dues". Just TOXIC and an outdated way of thinking. If they are the only ones who know the information they are more valuable (so they think). Directors are disrespectful to their team and talk down to their managers and associates like peasants. They will treat contracted employees like the help and will end your contract without notice. The employees at this company (especially contractors) are not valued. People are so focused with gossip and giving hypocritical cynical "Reflections" at every meeting but do not hold themselves up to the same standard. Do not even think about promotions... Managers will block you from moving up so they can keep you under them. This company is supposed to be helping people who can barely help themselves but the people within have bad spirits. Once you walk into the building the energy is heavy. If you get a call to apply for this job RUN! There are so many other great places to work with far better work environments.

I worked through Sodexo here. They play games, create drama, turn things around on you - It was Honestly one of the worst places to work. I pulled a muscle and one of the nurses actually started making fun of me, as if being an old woman and laughing at an injured person wasn't embarrassing enough. My boss would not come to my help to defend or even confront her, and the harassment continued. My boss had told me very personal things, trying to relate to a certain situation and ended up making it seem like I had offended him with my words and I had never spoken of anything inappropriately while working there. All the shift leaders hate each other, will talk straight trash about each other but say YOU said it to take away your hours. No room for advancement, they falsely represent this family atmosphere which is also a load of BS. Everyone is completely fake, Boss's leave during the work day and go wherever, shift leaders hide in closed off waiting rooms while everyone else gets swamped with rooms with no help. Some of my friends had gotten pregnant while working here, they put so much pressure on them that one Miscarried, One was labeled High Risk, and the other began to experience complications. They sent them to highly contagious rooms, scabies, some sort of highly contagious flu virus, CDif, you name it! I had them switch the rooms over to me because I wasn't at the time. When I became pregnant, Oh You Bet I Quit. Even after I left, nothing but rumors as to why I did. 

Please, Do Not work here. When I tried reporting some of these things to the New Head of Housekeeping, he was just like them - And if you're not fake, phony, hypocritical and judgmental like them you won't last. And they don't care about you, or what you have going on. They will help you as long as it benefits them.

a typical day at work:
Arrive on PCU to 6 patients. You'll have some on a cardiac drip, some going to the cath lab and returning. They will not downgrade you for sheath removal. You will stay with six patients and still have to be in the room every 5 minutes to make sure that patient is not bleeding. Sometimes you will have two post-cath patients with the same goals. Charge nurses will discharge your patients if the orders are in without telling you. You will find out because they will call you with a new admission. The CNAs are underpaid and understaffed. Many times you will have to get your own vital signs and blood sugars.

what you believe you learned:
Tyler did the interview. They will tell you how much they want to support you but when you bring a request to them once you're on staff they sight network wide shortages on why supplies and personnel cannot be provided.

management:
This is a good old boy culture. And that goes for the girls. Most people moved up in the company because of who they knew and not because of their desire to care for their nurses and patients. And it shows. No matter how understaffed you are or how unsafe your assignment is, there is a make it work mentality. All the way up the ladder.

the hardest part of the job:
Seeing the turnover of good nurses and other support staff. And nurses being made to pay back sign on bonuses.

the most enjoyable part of the job:
Definitely taking care of the patients working with the physicians. The specialists are very good here. Internal medicine not so much. Depending on the day you could work with some really great nurses.

A typical work day is stressful, busy, multitasking with paperwork and phones all day, leaving with a pile of work to complete and coming in the next morning getting more work throughout the day to add onto stacks of accounts you already have. Environment is noisy depending on where you sit, not easy to focus with all the background noise. Training isn’t great…you get just enough information and then you have to figure the rest out in your own. Everyone is breathing down you neck as it draws closer to 4-5 oclock to see how much work is left..b/c that work could possibly hold them up from leaving work at the time they want to leave. I always feel in a panic /rush to get work finished and its a very uncomfortable feeling. I just feel nowadays companies/managers really don’t take the time to properly train employees b/c they want to get the employees in as fast as they can so they can start working heavy loads of work because they’re already understaffed. I’m overwhelmed most of the time working here. I come in early, stay later, work on my weekend off and still you can never can get ahead here. Getting a day off is ok but It’s like a punishment b/c your suppose to have 3 days of work completed before you leave and that’s impossible in most cases. I regret coming here, I never wanted another job that stressed me to a point of leaving in tears or sitting in my car in the mornings wondering if I should go into this place. My advice is to make a very informed decision no matter what is said in the interview. The interview can sound great but you actually don’t know what it will be like until you start working. Weigh your options please. 

A typical day at work starts with report and ends with report. between reports is 12 hours of everything from passing medication to running a code. I learned how to lead a group of nurses, how to manage a busy telemetry floor, how to mediate between multiple personalities of staff and patients, and how to ensure that at the end of every shift, patients and staff feel like we have done everything possible to ensure an optimal visit to our unit. I absolutely love my coworkers. We have become a type of family, with disagreements, laughter, teamwork, and cooperation. The hardest part of my job has been taking care of people and realizing that no matter how badly we want to help them and teach them to manage their diseases, w can only do what we can do, and at some point they have to make a decision to take charge of their health and be responsible for their well being once they leave our care. There is nothing more frustrating than readmiting the same patient three times in two months because of noncompliance with diet, medications, follow up appointments, and discharge education. The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing that every single day, I am doing something to improve someones life at a time when they need help. Whether it's educating on diseases, teaching new diabetics how to manage their blood glucose, offering comfort to a 40 year old with no significant medical history who suddenly has to have open heart surgery or any of the other million little things we do as nurses without consciously thinking about it. I absolutely love being a nurse. I could not imagine doing anything else with my life.

Rude, obnoxious staff with poor communication skills is not held accountable for her bad behavior. She makes everyone in the access center and transfer center dread working with her. Her behavior remains unchecked and escalates because she believes she can get away with anything. She recently made working conditions so bad for a new hire that she left after 2 months on the job. The new employee was constantly undermined, called out for mistakes in front of other staff, belittled and was never properly trained. Everyone in the access center/ transfer center gets along with the exception of the one rude, obnoxious employee. Because of her departure, all staff is having to pick up the slack to provide coverage (except for the person responsible for her departure).
Before a new person is hired, a proper training program needs to be in place. This is not a "learn as you go" position. And a new employee should never be hired for the lead position.  Hiring a person without providing proper training leads to high employee turnover and workplace conflict. Management needs to step up and actually manage staff ( all staff). They also need to hire more than one person to cover for vacations, sick time, etc. Employees should not be responsible for finding a replacement when they are sick or on vacation.

This place does not value its employees at all. It’s a 17 year CNA I have never ran across such a company I worked here as a prn employee and during my orientation I ran across of a lot of negative things day me. Rehab/Ortho the nurses were friendly when we done our walk around during new employee orientation ,but when we got to the floors to be checked off they were like vultures. They couldn’t wait to sit on their phones and go to Starbucks as a group to get food and drinks. Whenever a patient needed something they sat there and ignored the call lights and asked another CNA to do it. As a PCT you will remove IV’s, Foley catheters, do dressing changes, change colostomy bags, take bp even after you’ve told the nurse that it was high numerous times, chart, vital signs, baths, and incontinent care. The role that you have plays both a CNA and nurse role without the nurse pay. You will carry a tracker on you so the nurses can track your every move like your a kid needing guidance. They say that they delegate the extra NURSE task to lighten the load of the nurses. “well if they playing on the phones and doing they make up at the nurses station they ain’t that busy.” My advice run and don’t look back!! The food sucks, and so do the hours. Oh yeah don’t be prn because they will staff you like your full time regardless to what your hire status is and try to talk down if you don’t work when they want you to!!
