Sure, maybe Cirtec Medical isn't for everyone --- If you're not driven, passionate about making an impact, wanting to be a part of a team and make a difference, being leaned on as an individual contributor, engaging in the company, innovating with purpose (industry) we serve - then maybe Cirtec isn't for you? (I guess I'm not really sure who that is, though?)

At Cirtec, I've been thoroughly impressed above any other company I've worked for...and I have very high standards after working as a consultant in the Twin Cities market (med device alley) with a plethora of medical device companies as an agency consultant for almost 7 years. Cirtec Medical stands above the rest by the PEOPLE, the VALUES, the CULTURE, the FUN, the PURPOSE, the CHALLENGES. We're in it together and it feels like we have it all; the excitement of a startup, and the stability, support, and access of a large company.

[Insert HUMBLE bragging moment] I ALSO FEEL LIKE WE ARE THE BEST AND I JUST LIKE WORKING FOR THE BEST.

I'm not saying everything is perfect - how boring. But the great thing is, ears are open - doors are open. Communication is alive here and voices are heard. Progress and changes are made, because here, we are people!!! We embrace ideas and think about them, and problem solve then put them into action because we are informed, flexible, and adaptable. Respect is expected from all areas and positions, no matter who you are or what position you hold.  We are innovative in our business for our customers and for our people. I've been here less than one year and I've seen it happen very quickly and on multiple occasions.

Our CORE VALUES are actually at our core; they literally spell out who we are - C.ustomers, I.nnovation, R.espect, T.ransparency, E.mployees, C.ommunication. Boil down our purpose, our mission, and our vision, and we wouldn't be able to succeed without these fundamentals. These are livable and breathable, and that is why I love it here, every. single. day. I'm so proud to be a Cirtec Medical employee.

A typical day at work would be, make coffee, meet & greet co-workers and clients at the front desk with a friendly smile, answer phones, enter PO's, order food for mtgs, go for a walk at Vasona Park on my lunch, do deposits, enter invoices, match invoices w/checks, enter expense reports and leave for the day.

I learned to be discreet, fast and efficient with entries, I learned that everyone has their own way of doing things. I also learned how to work with many different personalities.

Management was great even through all the turn overs.

My Co-workers were all great to work with and for, we worked as a team for the first 5 yrs until the company was sold and all the many turn overs after that.

I felt like I didn't have a voice at times, my suggestions didn't matter until things got out of control.

Hardest part of the job was to see a huge turn over after selling the company and watching co-workers quit, or get laid off.  Other than that I loved my job.

The most enjoyable part about my job was greeting our Clients, and having them remember my by my name and sign, which read "Whatever the question, chocolate is the answer"  The other part that I thoroughly enjoyed was planning our Holiday parties, all the smiles and appreciation I received from all of my co-workers was well worth it.

The workplace was initially engaging but became less satisfying over time. There appears to be an uneven distribution of workload among engineers, with some consistently contributing less while others are expected to take on increasing responsibilities. Compensation is below market expectations and does not always seem aligned with effort or contribution.
Management was effective at one point; however, organizational changes—including layoffs, job title adjustments, and shifting responsibilities—have negatively impacted morale and clarity. In practice, higher performance often results in additional tasks, while lower engagement is met with fewer expectations.
There also seems to be inconsistency in managerial oversight, as some engineers are not required to spend time on the floor or actively support operations. Subject matter expertise is sometimes lacking, with engineers redirecting questions to operators or supervisors instead of providing guidance.
Documentation review is inefficient due to frequent errors and a general lack of accountability for maintaining accuracy. While upcoming changes may improve expectations and accountability, sustained imbalance in workload and standards risks leading to burnout and the loss of strong contributors.

Strong company with a meaningful mission and a good group of people. The environment is professional and quality-focused, but the company also does a solid job investing in good talent, improving processes, and giving employees opportunities to get involved in the community. The work is technical and there’s a real focus on doing things the right way while continuing to innovate.

The hardest part of the job is working across multiple plants and business units where everyone is pushing hard on their own priorities and production demands. Getting alignment can be challenging at times, but on the whole people are focused on doing the right things and working together to bridge those gaps when they do come up.

The best part is knowing the products being made are actually helping people and making a difference in the world. The facilities are clean, goal-oriented, and there’s a strong sense that the work matters. 

The only thing pleasant about Cirtec is the employees. The management team is lackluster and needs a re-haul. The work-life balance is atrocious. Project timelines are developed without the input of any engineering staff by individuals that have little to any knowledge of the work required to complete said project, or the time it takes to complete said tasks. Due to this engineers can be expected to put in 50+ hour weeks on a regular basis. This wouldn't be so bad if the company appreciated the work their employees put in and compensated them appropriately. Prepare for your yearly cost of living raise to become your "merit" raise. Bonuses...what are those? Professional development is essentially non-existent in the majority of the departments (excluding quality assurance), so don't expect any training that may help you grow as an employee and advance your career. At the end of the day it could be worse I suppose...I mean they do treat you to sweaty donuts and bagels every Friday.

As an engineer, day to day, I generally feel productive and challenged. There are opportunities here for me to make an impact. 

The company has systems and structure that is working to be uniform across all locations. The quality system is managed from corporate down, so there is consistency, and though locations can be smaller, there is an easier trade of knowledge.

The pay scale is a little bit less than average for the area, so we tend to have lesser experienced employees. Site could benefit from getting more senior level employees.  

It looks like most of the leadership team changed over a couple of years ago from a corporate response to mismanagement or other issues. This is a good sign to me, because it shows they pay attention to the overall operations enough to be aware of concerns, but not micromanage. As a results, there were a lot of site-level changes over the last several years to strengthen the team and leadership, and I hope they continue this trajectory to become more competitive. 

I worked 8-5.
Answered phones, greeted Doctors & Employees, scheduled conf. rooms, ordered lunch for meetings., data entry such as PO's, invoices and matched.  I learned organizational skills & how to party plan on a budget.  Management was great until CFO quit, it was like working with one big happy family.  When company sold they hired a FT HR person that was OK at best, not a lot of people felt comfortable talking to him when an issues arose.  Great culture of people to work with.  Hardest part of the job is when they sold.  When company sold it just wasn't the same, company moral was down, they started laying groups of people off, closed one bldg and shrunk company to try and get back on their feet. The most enjoyable part of the job was planning all the parties and working with such great engineers!!  After 7 1/2 yrs of working there, I still feel comfortable going back to visit the handful of people that are still there.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Some of the people that work there actually care about making a safe product. Working with these people was easily the best part of my time at Cirtec

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything was on me. No matter if I was hired to do something completely different. While I could see other parts of the company having all the down time they could ever want and no one would say a word. Management did not care about this when I brought this up to them.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is not very good. People are on pins and needles because the management group treats them poorly.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful. I have to hit my numbers no matter what. It didn't matter that the product had issues or that my machine was broken. All they cared about was making sure we were hitting their number at the end of the day. Even if the product we sent out was returned 2 months later because it was defective.

In what should be an exciting industry to work in, Cirtec is part of a big, venture capitalist conglomerate ( 3i ) where they try to squeeze maximum dollar out of a  poorly managed, terribly executed, medical device manufacturing/ R&D  business. Zero communication between upper management and front line technician. Lousy salesmanship, shoddy manufacturing of sub-assembly components that are supposed to be parts of some very intricate medical devices that are supposed to make life better for patients with special needs. They don't want to hear about continuous improvement ideas, especially from hands on technicians, and they are very top heavy with junior engineers fresh out of school. For some of them, this is their very first job! The Enfield site, in particular, has a propensity of perpetual nepotism. Out of the 20 or so recently laid off workers, not one of them are parts of the multiple family members that work there.

Cirtec Medical is a great company to work for! The work can be fast-paced and challenging, but it’s also meaningful and rewarding. Leadership is encouraging, and there are plenty of opportunities for learning and career growth. The company values teamwork and offers great engagement activities like recognition programs, team-building events, wellness initiatives, and holiday celebrations. Cirtec also gives back to the community through volunteer efforts and local support.
