The City of High Point is a great place to work for.  I enjoy my employment here, but feel is it time for me to take the necessary steps to advance my career.  A typical day of work consists of me attending crime scenes with officers, and fingerprinting prisoners.  I learned so much at this job it is hard to pinpoint one thing.  I would say the few big things I learned were the ability to work together and true hard work, putting my mind to test and pushing myself to be a better employee.  The hardest part of the job was working multiple large scenes at a time, and getting every detail from every scene, which is very hard to do for one technician by themselves.  Overall, this was a great place to work, with great people.

I worked in customer service on the phone. The customer would call in for new service, or pay a late fee for reconnection. They also would be moving and want to transfer their service. Also contractors would call for meters to be put in. We took all calls for garbage pickup, dead dogs, etc. It was never dull. I really liked the job. I guess the hardest part was when people would call and want you to extend their service because they didn't have the money, and would tell you all the desperate stories. You could tell if it was true usually by just looking at their account and how they had been paying before. We had a good group of ladies that their, and it made it more enjoyable to go to work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is no best part working in the finance dept.  They don’t look out for you if you are not one of the managers favored employees and expect those unfavored employees to do double work while the favored employees do as little as possible.  Rules are different for each employee

The managers and HR department are rude and don’t give a flip about their employees 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful and very discriminatory 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and dealing with coworkers who don’t know how to do the job they were hired for

What is the best part of working at the company?
Being able to be a part of providing a safe, reliable public transportation for the public, and working alongside some of the most amazing people

Just knowing that you are under paid for the type of work that you are doing

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is a pretty relaxed and outgoing environment for the most part

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Pretty much every day is a joyful blissful day not hard very easy not complicated so not too much stress but that also depends on which supervisor you’re dealing with some light to overstep their boundaries

Posted payments to customers utility accounts, accepted payments for other City Departments, balanced 2 cash drawers on a daily basis. I learned about the City's policies and procedures for taking care of customers requests from many different economic statuses.
My co-workers were always helpful and willing to help in stressful situations. The hardest part of my job was having to deny a customer in need who didn't qualify for not having to pay a deposit when applying for new services. The most enjoyable part was assisting customers who came in on a regular basis.

older generation of workers, resistant to change and most everyone works at their own pace rather than the pace of the workload.  0 potential for advancement due to very low turnover rates as well as the department structures.  to advance past management you must live or be willing to relocate inside the city limits.
for someone satisfied with doing the same job for 20 years with little to no change in the process of that job then it would be perfect

A typical day at work was busy but pleasant.  My supervisor made the job a fun place to work.  Management was great.  Workplace culture was fair.  The hardest part of the job was that I was not paid very much money and I could never make more money in the position that I had.  I applied for another position on two occasions because I wanted more money and I was qualified, but I was not given the opportunity.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the good rapport that I had with the supervisor.

The pay was decent. PTO was good.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The plant upper management. Little to no communication.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, A lot of cliques nice to your face but will talk about you behind your back. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Boring. A lot of what I did was moved to others.

working here was the very first job in a long time,and I would said that it was also a learning job,a typical day  would be a fast pace day,Learning was somewhat easier,but it had it up and down,the manager was younger  than me and at times I think he did"t know what he was doing,I never had no hard with the co-worker they was fun to work with,nothing hard about the job because like I said it a learning job,and last but not least, going home,closeing time

What is the best part of working at the company?
I left them about 3 years ago.

The management, they really doesn't care about  their people.
