There were no concrete and focused plans delivered by corporate or management to market in such an oversaturated, competitive, and complex DFW marketplace. It seemed that on the onset, leaders in the company thought both Mansfield and Waxahachie locations would be an automatic business boomers, but they were quite wrong, especially for Mansfield. There was so much pressure from top down to drive business but the best advice we were given was to show up with candy, but your card at the bottom with a note saying "Call me for refills." 

There was no delineation between work life and non-work life. People would except to answer texts and calls from 7 AM to sometimes 8/9 PM and sometimes even 11PM. And forget about a complete break during vacation. The company has you use your own phone for business activities, so every case manager, etc will call and text on your time off. Even colleagues would text, "I know your off, but..." You're better off turning off your phone.

Local leadership allowed and even happily participated in internal employees bad mouthing the liaison team directly and indirectly.

I can say that I'm thankful for the experience to know what I will never put up with again and that it's ok to walk away from a toxic environment even without a job lined up.

I genuinely enjoyed the core aspects of the job and worked alongside some incredibly talented and dedicated teammates. The work itself was rewarding, and I appreciated being part of a team that cared about what we were doing.

However, there were significant issues with how management operated. There was a clear pattern of favoritism, which led to growing resentment among the team. Those who were not part of the favored group were often overlooked or unfairly burdened with additional responsibilities — including being pulled away from our own roles to cover tasks that should have been handled by management.

When concerns were raised about this behavior, including instances of bullying and harassment from leadership, they were met with retaliation rather than resolution. Despite formal investigations, nothing was ever addressed or acknowledged. The toxic dynamics continued, creating a difficult environment for those who spoke up.

There’s a lot of potential in the role and among the team, but serious improvements are needed in leadership accountability and workplace culture.


While there are some positive aspects of the workplace, particularly the outstanding performance and professionalism of the therapy department, there are several areas that need significant improvement.

Employee support and satisfaction often seem to take a back seat to patient satisfaction, and staff members may feel undervalued or unsupported. Leadership, including executive and management roles, can come across as inconsistent—professional in appearance but lacking in follow-through or transparency. Some leadership behaviors have been perceived as inappropriate or passive-aggressive, and managerial presence is often limited despite their central role in oversight.

The work schedule lacks flexibility, which poses challenges for staff work-life balance. Additionally, accountability is a concern; mistakes are often deflected rather than addressed constructively, leading to a culture of blame.

The organization also faces internal challenges such as poor interdepartmental communication, frequent and unclear changes to policies or procedures, and ongoing instability in operations. This has created a workplace environment that can be stressful and unpredictable.

One of the biggest takeaways from my time here has been personal and professional growth. I’ve learned valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership that will benefit me throughout my career.

Management is supportive and approachable, always willing to provide guidance and constructive feedback. They foster an environment where employees feel heard and valued.

The workplace culture is one of the best aspects of the job—team-oriented, inclusive, and motivating. Everyone works together to achieve common goals, and there’s a genuine sense of camaraderie.

The hardest part of the job can be balancing multiple priorities at once, but the challenges help strengthen time management and adaptability.

The most enjoyable part is seeing the positive impact of my work, whether it's helping a colleague, achieving a major milestone, or contributing to the company’s success. The sense of fulfillment makes it all worthwhile!

This company makes a good claim that they are "different" and "put the patient first", but all they are really only concerned with making money.  The consistently fail to follow CMS criteria for admitting patients and a high number of patients return to the ER/Acute Hospital within 24 hours of being admitted.  If you do speak up about critical issues in the facility regarding patient and staff safety, Management does their best to silence you by writing you up for speaking up.  Patient and Staff Safety is not a priority here and, most of the time, Leadership turns a blind eye to safety issues.  Therapy Staff are consistently directed to change and lie on their documentation, to score Patients at a higher level of independence than what they are, so the facility gets a higher reimbursement.  If CMS or Joint Commission actually knew what was going on here, they would close it down.  There is a high turnover rate.  The business has not even been open a year and is already on their 3rd CEO.  Several staff that opened the doors here have already left due to the poor operational standards.  If you value your professional license, do not work here!

A typical workday involved frequent micromanagement, with nursing staff often finding that therapy providers had more authority in patient care decisions. The position was initially offered as self-scheduling but transitioned to a mandatory block schedule within five months. Staff frequently arrived late to shifts—often by 15 minutes or more—without accountability.

Within a short timeframe, significant leadership turnover occurred, including the termination of the Director of Nursing Operations, Director of Marketing, CEO, and HR Director. This left remaining staff struggling to manage operations while being promised professional advancement that never materialized. Ultimately, many felt compelled to resign in order to preserve their dignity.

The nursing department’s operations resembled those of a nursing home rather than a collaborative healthcare environment. While a few dedicated individuals remained committed to driving change, the overall environment was unsustainable. I genuinely wish those colleagues the best as they continue their efforts.

From day one, ClearSky Kenosha has offered a supportive environment. I felt welcomed and supported by both my colleagues and management. The teamwork here is exceptional. We genuinely look out for each other, which is crucial in our high-pressure environment.

The hospital offers many opportunities for professional growth through their online courses, tuition reimbursement, and loan assistance. Their career advancement programs allow you to make extra money per hour.

Management actively encourage us to pursue our interests and they celebrate the staff with employee of the month and kudos with opportunities to use those kudos to purchase ClearSky swag. Their engagement with the staff happens throughout the entire year with national day celebrations and parties!

The hospital prioritizes patient safety and satisfaction. It’s awards to work in an environment that shares these values!

This really is a great place to work, and I'm not pulling your leg!  I've been in similar hospital HR positions for 30 years. By far these are the best employees and leadership I've had the privilege to work with. Patients receive patient-centered care-- those words have definite meaning here and are not just a phrase coined in conversation! I'm proud to work here, too. We are well known in our community for the care our teams provide to patients. Our hospital is managed well, and leadership is supportive of each other, and the teams they manage. In our culture, we are all committed to following the ClearSky Core Values, every day and not just once in a while. This includes our CEO who is very visible and knows the names of employees. He leads by example and wheels patients back to their rooms after meals and even plays the guitar during patient mealtimes in our Cafeteria. The best part of my workday is when reflect on the events of the day, and know I made a difference.
No employer is perfect, but then as humans, neither are we!
 

Working at Cleasky Rehabilitation Hospital of Rio Rancho was a disheartening experience. The nursing staff was friendly, but the hospital was chronically understaffed, leading to immense stress and burnout. People were constantly quitting, which only exacerbated the workload.

The real nightmare, however, was the upper management. Their behavior was nothing short of dishonest and oppressive. They promised one thing but consistently did another. Their lack of transparency and disregard for staff well-being created a toxic work environment.

Pay was abysmal compared to other nursing jobs. It felt like they valued profits over patient care and staff satisfaction. The hospital’s priorities were clearly misplaced, and the staff paid the price.

In summary, Clearsky Rehabilitation Hospital of Rio Rancho is a place where upper management harasses the staff, morale is low, and patient care takes a backseat to financial gains. I would strongly advise against working there if you value your well-being and professional integrity.
