As a coach, you set your own availability, session/packaging-pricing, training locations, and distance you are willing to travel. Potential and current athletes can look at your credentials, what you specialize in, and reviews from previous athletes. CoachUp does much of the marketing for you, compensates you extremely well, and provides additional liability insurance (as a professional, you should also have your own). They provide a 100% money back guarantee which is an attractive selling-point to allow new athletes to give this one-on-one coaching experience a try to see if it's a good fit. As you can see, Coach Up does alot for you, and all you need to do is abide by their rules and regulations and respond to clients' requests within a reasonable 48 hours. Last thing, to be successful, I found that communication is key. Be honest to clients, express your passion and how you believe you can help them improve, be clear on the goals and expectations you have for one another, compromise with training locations, and offer slightly discounted single session packages initially. Show them value, be professional, and you will do well as a coach! I have helped many athletes improve on so many levels. It's very rewarding!!

What is the best part of working at the company?
I’ve been a Private Soccer & Running Coach with CoachUp for nearly a decade since 2015. I’ve logged over 55K hours coaching athletes of all levels (Beginner - Pro). CoachUp used to be great but they no longer respond to coaches or support us. I’ve reached out to CoachUp many times over the past 5 years on multiple platforms requesting new training shirts with CoachUp logo but never hear anything back.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As a longtime CoachUp coach, the lack of any support from CoachUp Headquarters in the past years.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Relationships with athletes and parents are great but CoachUp HQ no longer supports Coaches and do not respond.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Private Coaching - Daily interactions with athletes & parents

Management only cares about making money... at all costs unfortunately. They continue to price gauge their customers and their employees (full-time and part-time). They constantly raise their prices despite offering bs incentives, such as cheap merchandise. Coaches are much better off working solo or finding another way to coach/ find and retain clients. 
Overall, my experience with this company was well below average, and I was a part-time employee for over 5 years.

CoachUP does the marketing and handling of the finance, but the coach responds, schedules and works out with the player. Once the workout is completed, the coach completes it online and CoachUp pays you within a few days. So, the coach just needs to find a gym and establish their workout days and times. If you do a good job and the parents give you a good star rating, then you move up in the coaching ranking. The goal is to get to the top, so that you are the first coach they see. 

CoachUp sets its’ coaches up with a nice web page that looks very professional. You can add whatever appropriate content that you want to present yourself and your services however you wish. You make your own work schedule and CoachUp even gives you leads that you can convert into clients. There are coaching rankings that are updated daily to motivate you to be the best.

CoachUp makes it very easy to start and maintain your own personal coaching business. The website and app are very accessible, easy to use, and have a wide base of potential clients for almost any kind of coach. As with all companies such as these, they do take a sizeable cut of your revenue. However, once you have established your business, it becomes easier to charge enough per session to make up for that cut. Overall, great platform to work through.

One of the better companies for coaches to offer their services through. They take a good chunk of your fees, but they do handle the payment, provide liability insurance and allow you to edit your information on their site as you see fit. They require background checks. Some of the newer private coaching sites are not doing that yet.

CoachUp is great in that it helps get new coaches out in the field of coaching almlst immediately. They do all of the marketing and provide insurance coverage. My biggest issue is the payment set-up in regards to how CoachUp collects their fee. As a coach you'd simply have to take that lost for 5 sessions and hope to keep clients beyond the 5 in order to receive majority of your coaching fee. This isnt a deal breaker for me personally, but for some it is.

If you have a strong passion for helping athletes get to the next level, and achieve their goals and dreams this is an awesome opportunity which will prove to be a platform you will surely appreciate and grow to love and respect. Go CoachUp team! I am so proud to be able to be a part of this team.

Coachup is a good place to get connected with clients but the app takes away so much money from you until the third session, and getting to three sessions takes a lot of time. the key is to get a client, do one session with them and win them over. then in person you should continue the sessions over text (off the app) and get paid through venmo, cash or something of the sort. otherwise you are going to see +50% of your earnings taken away.
