Since this project started I really learned alot and I had the best team to have the honor of working with for the first phase of the project.  I started off as a quality control tech and a laborer at the same time.  We all work as a team and help each other out in order to complete daily goals.  Every employee and management for this site, even management for this site was great in helping us complete the first phase in this project.  I learned how to test white liner for it's durability and it's classification.  I also learned how to clean white liner, lister, grind, and use the extrusion gun, wedge welder.  We just basically weld white liner together, and do air tests on the white liner welds to make sure it's a good weld.  If in case it's a bad weld then there is a patch and repair work to be done.  There were alot of trenches at the top of base where the top of the white liner gets buried about 2ft then get buried by sand and dirt.  There is another trench at every 66 ft side slopes.  Then liner gets buried with sand and dirt for about 2ft of the side trenches.  Then there are caps of white liner that covers the trenches on the side slopes.  There is also alot of pvc methane pipe welding.  Then it gets covered by a protective cloth sheet, gravel, sand and white liner.  As per pvc methane pipes also get there pipe boots covered with white liner.  It's alot of grunt work, but come prepared with your physical agility and endurance.  I also wanted to mention in order to get heat acclamated you will need at least 4 weeks for your body to adjust to environment and climate.  I called this site my gym workout without paying for gym membership.   If your site has slopes please be aware of your surroundings as per trips and falls. If you see any of your team employee needs help please be sure to help them out.  Always make sure you have and wear your personal protective equipment.  You always make sure all generators are fueled up at the start of the day, and make sure you load all of the equipment that you will use for the day onto the atv cart.  Then unload all equipment onsite.  At the end of your shift gather all equipment and write down hours of equipment for generators, pumps, wedge welders, extrusion gun.  Then make sure you store all equipment back on utility trailer.  If your working within the summer months please make sure you are hydrated all the time.  Make sure you have a lite breakfast and lunch so you can overcome the work day more easily.  Please make sure you bring your food for breakfast and lunch.I also learned how to operate the skidster, and haul truck.  Overall it's a great job, great people and team.  You will definitely gain skills in order complete any project that the company offers.  It took at least eight months to complete this project.  I wanted to thank the people of Raiford, Florida; McClenny, Florida, and Comanco for the opportunity of working with them.

Upper management here is completely devoid of any social skills, making them incredibly difficult to work with. It’s a small company, and every tiny detail is micromanaged. Be prepared to feel like you're back in high school. 

Presentations are due every Friday, along with random ones a few times a month to present to the Owners.

The training is practically nonexistent. The software is a nightmare to use, and you’ll be expected to learn everything from outdated, poorly written PDF documents. Forget about proper training—you’re basically left to fend for yourself.

Your daily tasks consist mainly of organizing a never-ending pile of emails, documents, and other random files across five different software systems. You won’t gain any meaningful skills or career development here. The pay is abysmally low, and don’t even think about a raise unless you’ve been here for at least three years. The company is a revolving door except for the few in leadership positions that shouldn’t be there.

I was young when I first started and didn’t bother reading reviews, but after spending time at Comanco, I can confirm that every negative review about this place is 100% accurate.

I started out at Comanco as a laborer over 10 years ago. I have learned just about everything I know about construction from them. I was able to work from a Laborer to the position of Project Superintendent. It is a fast paced environment where you will always have a chance to advance your career if you chose to. Hard work really pays off here and is recognized often. The safety program is top notch and safety is rewarded on a regular basis. The heavy equipment is top of the line and they are always on the look out for the latest and greatest tech to implement in the field. As far as the company as a whole, It would be hard to find a more well oiled machine with the way everything is ran. Overall, Comanco is a great place to work if you are either just starting out, or have been in the business for 30 years.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Comanco promotes from within and really cares about thier employees. They will give you extensive training to be successful at your job as well as opportunities to move up in the company. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You have to be willing to work in outside environments. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good work environment. Comanco will give you everything needed to further your skills.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day would be doing liner work / repairs if in the field. Loading  or repairing equipment, filling recs, and painting if working at the shop.

It is difficult to find a company that checks all of the boxes. COMANCO invests heavily in each employee when it comes to safety, recognition, bonuses, training, self development, benefits and promotion from within.

Overall, they mean well but during my months reviews with upper management, I got nothing but praise. However, when I was laid off, they claimed I was not progressing like they wanted even though they told me I was doing great in all of my reviews. They don't care about their employees, only about making money.

They want engineers but refuse to pay engineer money. Depending who you work for, it can be a decent environment.  I was remote and the only time my manager offered help was when he wanted to tell you how bad you are and how great he is and how he can do it better. They want project engineers to do project manager work without paying you. They will offer lots of overtime then take it away. Turnover rate is extremely high for that reason. With a management change,  it would be a great place.

I enjoyed working at Comanco this company gave me more knowledges about the safety that other companies that I been worked .learn more about how to handle the jobs properly, learn to care and get along with different coworkers from different cultures and I will sent the message to all the new employees if you show Comanco how you work and stay focused what you do you will get the promotion at no time.
