This company says they are the best and help 100%… false they are no help at all. PCA workers go weeks without pay . No communication. Faxes for service requests are always delayed . Care partners are never available to answer calls or questions and what it all comes down to is the numbers they want you to take 50 calls everyday, they hate it when you get a moment of peace and are always freaking out about the call queue and maybe everyone is working. If you call out too much they get mad. They push for perfection in stats. MLK, Veterans Day, Columbus Day you work and don’t get it off even though “the back of the company “ gets it off. If you work the way they want you to work they “coach” you in things to improve on to be their vision of perfection. You don’t get bonuses. The only plus really are the heath benefits but other than that there are none. They keep a high expectation that is impossible to reach and those favored are the ones to advance. And to advance it’s either follow their rules or move to a different department. The contact center is really the center of wanting perfection in which you are expected to clock in and out at exactly the time you are scheduled otherwise they demand to know why you are 5 minutes late for lunch. The other bad part is the systems itself they run on wifi and if one bar goes down suddenly everything malfunctions really bad as in calls dropping, they can’t hear you , system putting you offline and even pushing a call through when you are still on lunch. They also expect you to have perfect wifi for this job. There are rude customers and constantly losing their medications like we are giving it away. Everyday there are IT issues at this company and for some reason we are still expected to take calls despite the system maybe not working . All they  are about are numbers that’s why they have a special department to grade the calls and if you do bad well you get “coaching”. This company although it’s made out to be perfect it’s actually not and are extremely bad at  providing service one way or another . Another bad thing are the “assessments” too little hours are assigned despite the member being in really bad shape they are always doing it wrong if an old lady can’t shower by herself why give her only 5 hrs (for example) and that is a constant complaint hrs taken away for pcas . The CEO doesn’t do much and really only sends newsletters of thanks and happy holidays other than that he doesn’t interact with the rest of the company I would imagine it’s meetings all day 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay is excellent and I love working from home.  My manager and other employees are very nice and helpful when needed. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company needs better structure to be able to offer continuity of care.  To many people calling the members around the same time. Is causing much confusion with the members. Need a more team approach so the case manager can manage the cases better and the member will know up front who is on there case and who to call for assist. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
My team is very layed back. This job can be very hectic, but if you have the right manager who doesn't mind helping where help is needed and other employees that on your team doesn't mind helping makes me want to come to work For the camaraderie.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start off with huddle, to discuss members that are in hospital, discharged from hospital or been to Ed. Discuss members that are tough and gets ideas from other team members on how to handle a situation. We call all the above members and offer assistance that may be needed in the home in oder to keep them from returning to the hospital. Make call to other members to find out how they are and if assistance or answer questions concerning care. Find out if the need any medical equipment, community assist or even behavioral assist at the home.

•Working in a busy call center for member services. Answering incoming calls. Helping members with questions regarding their insurance including authorizations, grievances, benefits, over the counter benefits, disenrollment etc 
•I've learned a lot regarding the insurance plan and also Medicaid and Medicare
•management is not that great they are never available when a member needs a supervisor forget it you will never get one to speak to them. The supervisor that I had she was out for 3 months straight and then a few months later she was out for 6 months and then we had no one to reach out to
 And then we found out that she was no longer with the company
•workplace culture is fine 
•the hardest part of the job is we do not get paid enough for  what member services does. Have not received a raise in 2 years, we now handle the durable medical equipment inquiries and repairs, they add additional things for us to do and we don't get compensated for it 
•the most enjoyable part about the job is I have some co-workers that I enjoy working with and it's nice to talk to some members who appreciate the work that you do but other than that I have not been happy here for a while

I've been here for years. It's a great place, good benefits, and generally easy going. it's not as stressful as some of my other jobs. That being said, one of the things I feel it struggles the most if understanding where best to allocate their resources.

My job is easy. I come in. I do what I'm required to for the day, and then I leave. I don't interact too often with my team as we're, in a word, anti-social, or maybe it's just me. I don't know. This environment is ideal for me. Honestly, since we're mostly remote, it might not be out of line to "schedule" a team meeting weekly just to see everyone's faces and not necessarily for the purpose of another work meeting since I don't feel like we know one another.

The straw that broke the camel's back wasn't a big deal in the end of the day, but that is the present act of waiting. Due to some situations which I'm sure I cannot disclose, we went on a hiring freeze and there was a recent downsizing to essential staff. Our leadership in our department was considered essential, and they left. There was no priority to fill these vacancies, which resulted in people being stretched too thin to find a replacement or promote from within. This isn't necessarily a management problem, but all the way down to recruiting.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good pay and benefits. Work from home, not micromanaged. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The week after  I started it became clear that the company was in financial distress. Several months we weren’t even sure if we would have jobs. Company was bought out by Care Source in April which was the best case scenario.. Things have stabilized but are still a little unclear and procedures change almost daily. (This was going on before Care Source came into the picture though.) You have to go with the flow and be open to change. For me that doesn’t outweigh the pros of the job but it does for others. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I’m lucky to work from home and my team is amazing. My supervisors are helpful and approachable and appreciate their employees. Higher up I’m not really sure do to the changes but the new company feels promising. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Meeting every morning to go over our assigned members. Work from home consists of speaking to members and resolving issues for them coordinating care, assessments, referrals, outreach etc. Trainings and meetings pop up throughout the day. They allow a flexible work schedule most work 4 10 hour shifts.

The management is absolutely terrible. They have no idea what they’re doing. They’re unbelievely unreliable. Don’t even bother asking higher ups for help because they don’t have a clue on how the system works or how to deal with people in general. The company itself is completely disorganized. The managers are not honest about dealing with peoples time sheets. There’s so much nepotism within the company that its so difficult to establish a healthy relationship with your supervisor/manager. The mangers and supervisor are utterly unprofessional and highly inappropriate. Because of the nepotism, you wont be able to report anything negative about the higher ups because HR will get you out of there before you even get the chance. Lastly the worst thing ever is the company not having a handbook so they literally make up rules as they go.

My typical day at work would be processing Minimum Data Set Applications for the elderly and persons with disabilities regarding their health.

I learned the urgency/importance of patients'/members' needs in regards to their healthcare.

I think the management there is awesome. My boss let's my team and I know what needs to be done and sends out emails on a regular basis when needed.

I love the workplace culture. It's a nice healthcare setting, spacious, and I love its location. I love how there's a café there as well. Also, the employees and bosses are cool.

The hardest part of the job would be submitting in as many applications in before the deadline (before the new month starts). Depended upon how many of those on the team are available that time.

The most enjoyable part of the job is when holidays come around, potlucks, birthdays, job anniversaries, etc. for time of celebration and showing appreciate for the hard work being done.

I don't even know where to begin with this company. This company is extremely disorganized. There is constant confusion which leads to frustration. It seems like nobody knows what they're doing. They recently made a change to who can speak on behalf of the member and it's been so messy. Care Partners never answer their phones and MSRs are the ones that have to deal with that outrage. We get complaints from members about their Care Team never calling them back and they have to leave so many messages for them. Whenever an MSR requests assistance for a supervisor or Senior, it always seems like NO ONE is ever available. We get little to no assistance. 

Training was extremely short and we were told that we would work in phases and then when the time came for the next training, we found out that we will be trained from Tier 2 to Tier 4 for about a week and a half. 

Fast past, innovative, flexible. I had a great manager that as long as my work was done she gave me the freedom to move as I needed, which was great for a hybrid flexible schedule. The only thing is CCA has lots of changes that don’t always make sense that can cause power struggles through the latter. Not everyone does well with changes and often times negativity would infuse the environment. Employees often get frustrated with not being heard about changes as upper management and CEO make unnecessary changes but causing havoc. But on the flip side…. U can’t be innovative without taking chances. It’s a catch 22 with this company. But there are a lot of great people who work there. And you will gain a lot of experience 

Under scrutiny and micromanagement 24/7. Inconsistent expectations throughout the whole company. Half the company is expected to be in members homes 5-6 times a week and see all of 250+ members a year(Western Mass), but the other half is still remote. Layoffs randomly and without any warning. Positions being canceled so you have to reinterview 3 times to keep your job at the same company.  Extremely stressful, inadequate trainings, and management  is incompetent, unprofessional, act like bullies, and lack empathy. All higher ups push toxic positivity onto their teams, all while destroying their mental health with unrealistic and inconsistent expectations every hour. Avoid if you enjoy your sanity. You will have PTSD from this company. Overworked is an understatement. This company has lost its spark.
