Out of all the places I have worked this is one of the worst places to be employed at.Lets start with the staff:The nurse isn’t even a real nurse,nurses are supposed to be caring and actually want to help people meanwhile this nurse lets patients die without ever giving them the proper care they need.She is worried about leaving to get her eyelashes done and etc instead of staying her whole shift.She lies about being there all the time when she’s not.Nurses aren’t also supposed to show up work drunk but hey I guess when you’re that specific nurse you can. The rn that works there is really awesome and sweet I feel bad because she has no clue what’s actually going on in that place since the Lpn is constantly lying to her face the rn was more helpful then the fake lpn or whatever you want to call her.Lets talk about the office administrator she needs to be the one that runs that place.I loved her out of all the staff that works there.She was always so helpful whenever we had problems is always constantly working off and not getting paid for it because the Lpn is to worried about being at the bars and getting drunk instead of taking care of her residents.The Lpn has no clue how to do her job what so ever.The director I’m not sure what to say about her but if she only knew what was going in there she wouldn’t be to happy.All in all I wish the office administrator would take over and run that place a lot of the current employees who work there now would be so much happier. The higher ups at corporate wouldn’t be to happy either if they knew what was actually happening day to day

There were several times where there were problems in the building such as having no clean sheets in the entire building at one point and instead of fixing said problem management would flip it on the employees telling us to make it work. The main manager always looked at the cameras to make sure people were on task, but almost everytime I walked past his office he and the management team were laughing and playing and never doing work. Most of them are qualified to help on the floor, but when the team was short and the PCAs and RMAs were scrambling to take care of clients they wouldn't do anything. I am a person the lives by the saying "lead by example," and the management team did not live by that. The workers were very nice and were always willing to help. The management team also had favoritism and it would show over who would be able to get away with certain things such as calling out or leaving the floor. The work environment was just very mentally and ohysically taxing. Especially when they would try and force people to stay longer than they had to to be adequately staffed. The only way this will be a positive work environment is if the management team learns some empathy and gets their hands dirty with helping the employees there.

I highly would not recommend working here, especially in housekeeping. You are paid 14/hr as the starting pay and you are stuck with all these high expectations, but the management do not care about you and your concerns about work. Management sticks together and cover up for their mistakes so don't expect for them to fix their issues. You only get a small increase in pay every 6-7 months and its about 0.50 which isn't even worth it. I worked my butt off for this job and received many compliments about my work ethic, but those compliments are not worth the pay and the issues that arose with the maintenance manager there. I first was going to stay a bit longer until I secured a job because the employees and residents there provided a positive enough environment when I don't think about the dismissive treatment of some of the higher management there.  Employees can't even get more of what we need like uniforms, chemicals, and other supplies without management saying that its not in the budget. I only had 2 shirts like other housekeepers and we work 8 hr per day every week so It does not make sense for us not to receive more shirts. We don't even have aprons in case some chemical spills on us. This job is not worth it unless the issues with management is corrected. 

do yourself a favor and don't work here.constantly short staffed and always wanting you to come in.First off the "nurse" isn't a real nurse whatever alot of residents dying under her care.she doesn't send people out when they fall and need to be sent out some have had serious injuries and should of been sent out.She also comes to work drunk with wine in her cup.I wouldn't want any of my family member living there what so ever.Everyone who works there is in fear for their job if they go to corporate to say something.i was never disrespected so bad before by a boss if she doesn't like you she will make it known.Alot of favoritism happens give some employees extra cash to come in and etc while they don't do the same for others who come in and help.they love to overwork employees they don't care if you are sick or injured they want you there.The turn over rate is so high because of the way they treat people.The last time I checked the nurse is supposed to work her entire shift not leave an hour after coming in then having corporate believing her lying self.Some employees that work there abuse the residents and nothing gets done about it.Also not appropriate to show up to work with your husband and the guy that your cheating on him with thats really unprofessional especially around residents family members.

Over the past two years, this senior living community has grown, thanks to the assistance of our new Executive Director. She is fair, respectful and is always looking out for her residents and staff (not to mention she on call almost every day, 24/7).

Some of the negative reviews you see on The Landing page are from those who have been given many second chances to work at our building and could not follow the rules & regulations that they had agreed to follow on the first day of orientation.

Reviews do not reflect the family we have built among our residents and staff. We get the chance take our residents to see live theater shows, celebrate each holiday with fun activities for residents & employees alike (our Halloween costume contests are a delight!) and have an enjoyable, dance-filled End-of-the-Year party.

Yes, sometimes the hours are long and the work is hard. But, with clear communication and perseverance, we - as a team - have accomplished so much in these past two years. We are still learning and growing, which only means our team can grow stronger and wiser. Our building will flourish for all who work & live here.

We are here for the residents - to love & support them. And this team is doing just that.

My duties include:
Setting up the dining room for service for breakfast lunch and dinner, preparing specialty meals ordered by the residents, plating and serving prepared food, washing dishes, preparing and plating deserts, cleaning tables, refilling sweeteners,straws, salt, pepper, butter packets and creamer for all tables. Taking residents orders for lunch and dinner.  Writing up a list of which prepared meals the residents would like for the chef daily for lunch and dinner. Refilling table menus and taking out each day as it is necessary. Folding cloth napkins, Cleaning food areas, trays and carts. Preparing cereal bowls, juices and coffee for the carts to Cottage and Sweet Memories as well as the tables for the Residents in AL. Serving Table side salad or soups when prepared by the chef. Breaking down boxes and taking out trash as necessary. Maintaining a clean environment within the kitchen and food service areas. Cleaning coffee pots, coffee station and juice station.  Organizing the storage room areas and maintain cleanliness.  Making note of Refrigerator and freezer temperatures at certain times of the day.

A typical work day at the landing is usually one that is short staffed.  I learned how to fully meet the needs of my residents and learned that everyone is unique in their own way. It's best to make the most of the rest of their lives because most have lived fairly long and they deserve it. The downside is management absolutely sucks. They do not take pride in the Aides and the "break room" is a joke. It sits in a cold basement with leaky pipes and sometimes hold old furnitures and TRASH. Most of my co-workers were pleasant and work together to keep things a float. Sometimes we have been so short that it has forced the Nurse to become an aide while doing their assigned duties as well. Overworked and underpaid is an understatement. I'm sure you've heard to never judge a book by its cover, the place looks amazing, all the effort is put into decor. They don't value their aides. They hire on the spot so if you really need the money Go for it because they're desperate.

I did enjoy the flexibility of working here. There was very poor management... I watched as we went through 5 administrators in 2 years (at some periods we didn't have one). There were good workers of course but there were a lot of coworkers who indulged in gossip or who did not work well with others. Job security is a plus, they offer PCA and Medication Technician classes that they will pay for but you have to sign a contract of course. They would take money from my paycheck and force us to work off the clock at times. I also got in trouble (formally) for coming in early to help when we were short staffed. Some times they would have one aid on the floor taking care for 40 patients! I felt bad for the residents because I was not able to help them and assist them like I should.. Overall okay starting out but MOVE ON. I would never take my family member here.

There is an extremely high turn over here. Staff are very unprofessional, do much drama, and putting one another down. I've been here a month, and I'm looking to leave. Your mind, and body will be affected by the stress in this environment. Not enough staff. I come home crying, and exhausted. People dont work together as a team. Management think they are running a concentration camp there. People are overworking themselves. I wouldn't put my love ones in there. They cant get proper care. One reason is: insufficient staff. They give staff si much responsibilities. Staff is doing some dining service, and housekeeping. It's terrible in the Danville facility. They have a free meal for employees, but you don't have time to get it, because you're working so much. They dont even make enough food for the residents at times. You have to go to the kitchen, and ask for more food to be made.
