Please Do Not Work for this company!!!!! It's the most and awfull place I have EVER worked for. You will feel like you are in an uncertain Roller Coster. You work so hard for nothing. The stores managers don't take responsibility for what they told you to do when its becomes a danger for their Managing Position.
The General and Assistant managers, after seen you working SOoooooo hard they promess you a position but they are just manipulators!!!!! They just want you to work double hard so they can make their commision and look good for their bosses. Yes, they are paying you for what you need to do, but they should not promess what they are not planning to give you. I will like to clarify that I allways show dedication, profesionalism and try to do my best at work and promising a position is not adults game but kids game.
There is not a sense of who is running what.
All the rules this company has are broken every day, for example you do personal shores for your boss ( taking their kids to school and piking them up, go to your boss house and wait for that person that is going to fix something at their house to show up), pick up your boss when his/ her car brakes so they don't look bad by getting late at the office, specially when the District Manager is visiting the store. Your store boss records every one by using recording pens, thumb drive; racism and manipulation is very common, belitten is often used, most of the time your boss talks bad about you to the customers just because your relationship with the customers are positively high, the managers most of the time ignored the good things you do for the office and customers specially if your district manager and regional manager talks to you when they visit the stores, talking to the district managers or regional managers are a sin! Your General Manager will put you in a bucket!
The managers can make your productivity look poor too by sending most of the customer to certain co-worker that he/she likes at the moment or is on their side ( you always will look good by the high amount of job shown in the computer each month done by you but also it will show as well the mistakes or errors you had done, this both can be manipulated also by your manager. How? Well, about the amount or cuantity of good job.....the store manager or assistant manager can send, like I mentioned before, most of the customers to one co-worker, and about errors or mistakes , yor boss can help you in differents ways to fix it but some of them choose not to, they will tell you they can't fix it, but later on you'll see them making the same mistake and then you see them fixing it), human relationship is very poor and so much more.
I'm a very positive person, but in the stores there is always a negative assumption about your coworker and this is more than anything encorraged by your immediate boss, wish is very sad because it cause distrust between coworkers and a very unplasant atmosphere.
The negative misconception created by your General Managers, Assistant Manager about others is sooo poor that it will make you go like " what in the world this person has in their mind and even what kind of a person this is?" I personal think that the less you think about people been bad more positive things you can receive from that person and the most productivity you can get from your business.
You have to be very, very carefull also to who you can trust, but actually this is imposible, you can't even trust your immediate boss. For instance, if you become good or even better than your own boss (General Manager) he or she will try to get rid of you or any one in the same position by talking bad to others General Managers, Ofice Team,District and Regional managers; this will happens most of the time when you are not in the office.
I also noticed that the worse your boss can make someone look the most friend they can make, the most people they manipulate and even makes themself look credible, this psicology is used most of the time by General Managers and assistant managers. The most friends someone has its good for that individual but the most enemy someone has the awful your days will be and believe me your enemies can be created for your own boss and about something that you have not done or said just lies but the worse of everything will be that you won't even know this is hapening on your back. Yes, so gossiping about others and even about your Regional and District Managers you are exposed by some Generals and assistant managers, but if you don't become part of it or agree, you are put in the black list, wich to me is very unprofessional.

Another issue is that If you report someone that steals, being racist, and others, but this individual happens to be an Regional Manager in trainee you eventually can lose your job and have not support from anyone, in fact it can be use by your immediate boss to target youself were he or she will tell everyone so you can be shame and she or he can win more people.

I'm sorry if this is too much information but I don't want you to waist your time by thinking you will be respected, treated fairly, forget it if you think you will received suport fronm your boss, or you will get a manager position soon, it's just a game to make money for others because your manager will end up bringing his/her friend to work for them. Lies, gossiping, manipulation, quick to negative assumptions and bad treatment populates in each store, like I said Unprofessionalism populates in most of the stores.

I was a Store manager for four years getting to open a new location.  My General manager and I worked well together, He was very numbers oriented and I was very customer service oriented.  We grew our store to almost 900,000 in total accounts and were profiting more than stores that had been around for ten or more years before they got rid of us both. Our store was ran quite different than most others.  We would teach our customers on how to pay back the loan based on how often they got paid.  This made a huge difference in the amount the customers actually paid back and cut the loan in half if they were able to make weekly installments as opposed to bringing in the same total amount of payment in a lump sum on their contractual due date.  Weekly was better than bi-weekly and bi-weekly was better than monthly Now, did every customer follow these recommendations?  Of course not, but you see, every one got told how to "Get their Title back with Titlemax" by following these steps and when the ones who didn't follow the recommended payment plan would begin to complain that most if not all of their monthly payment would go to paying interest, we could calmly sit with them and actually calculate where they would be if they broke the same amount of money into weekly or bi-weekly installments and remind them of how we recommended this plan to them for their benefit.  We would hear countless times "Oh my goodness, yea you did show me that", or "Yea I need to start doing that".   Now whether or not again they stuck to it?  Well, some did and some didn't, but the point was that IT WAS ALL UP TO THEM. You see all the angst building up toward me, or my coworkers or even the company itself was squashed by taking the time to show the customer genuine concern in paying the loan off as quick as they could and when they needed it again, they would come back to see US because we treated them with respect and care, encouraging them to actually pay as little as possible and retain their title. Now the as the industry goes, most people who pay off a title loan do not return to the same location when they need it again.  Mostly due to a mix of a feeling of shame for having to need it again after paying back more than 2 1/2x the loan amount borrowed and in most cases being hounded and treated as a payment instead of a person.  This was not the case with our location. We would have more repeat business than most of the other locations, often times taking customers from other locations just because of the way we treated people. 

I was blessed to have a District manager that allowed us to run the store and trusted our judgment.  Our 3rd year from opening the location we were a huge part of him winning the company wide "District of the Year" award, by which he well deserved.  

Our Regional Manger was also very good at her position, She allowed us to run the store and trusted the District Manager even though how we were conducting business was very much against how the upper management of the company wanted us to do it.  As the saying goes though, "The numbers don't lie".  Our Profits were larger than several stores that had over one million in total accounts, our charge offs were practically non existent, our collection issues were minimal at best and we were retaining and bringing in new customers. This was all because we treated people with respect and conducted the business the right way, looking into the future of retaining and growing a customer base rather than looking at what was right in front of us and trying to cash grab as much as possible from anyone we could.  

If you want to work for TMX Finance, I wish you the best and highly recommend you do your research of what location best fits you. I also sincerely recommend that you search yourself to know what kind of person you are, what kind of spirit you have and your level of care of the individual.  Remember first that your customers are approaching you because there is a problem. Will you do your best not to have made the problem bigger when they walk out of your store?  Will you look for a solution rather than hounding someone when they fail to make a payment? Are you a person of integrity? are you willing to work hard to grow your store by providing solutions to your neighbors problems? Remember, you will more than likely see your customers outside of work.  Don't be that person they don't want to run into. Do your best to create an inviting and unashamed relationship with your customers.  Having compassion for their lives and family, after all, it could be you one day who are in their shoes.

I would also recommend that you STUDY YOUR PRODUCT! This is so important to you and your customers success.  Know your options! In most states you can renew a loan if the accrued interest is paid up to date.  This is a vital tool in helping a customer if they are having a rough month, in some cases basically allowing them to skip a month while either lowering the monthly payment or giving them the option of keeping the same terms by them bringing in the same amount they were paying even though the renewal lowered the payment.  

The best part of the job by far were the customer interactions and developing a customer base built on trust and care.

The hardest part of the job was getting to a point where we were left with no choice but to repossess a vehicle, but it was honestly rare in our location.

I also find great satisfaction in solving operational challenges, improving processes, and seeing measurable results from those efforts. Moments when the district comes together—whether to celebrate wins, support one another, or achieve ambitious goals—are the most fulfilling.

A typical day at work consists primarily of outbound collection calls. Though this is a task facilitated to supporting staff, there is often so many calls to make that it takes the entire staff to get through them. After the first round of calls, field visits and marketing routes are delegated and executed. The GM and SM visit vendors and merchants to build and maintain partnerships in acquisition of growth through customer referrals and distribution of marketing material. File, title, expense, and employee time card audits are completed regularly. Recovery agents must be contacted regularly for status updates. Inventory, minimum bids, condition reports, and run dates are closely tracked with auto auctions. There is a second round of calls in the afternoon, and throughout the day customers are coming in to make payments, take out new or increase current loans, discuss past due accounts, make arrangements for late payments, say hello and chit chat, or give tips on how to contact hard to reach customers. At the end of the day, customers who were due that day get a field visit and the next days activities get planned and mapped out. It is a lot of work and not uncommon for GM's to find themselves working 8am-8pm several times a week.

What I learned working for TitleMax, is that competitors are not your enemies. The market is big enough for everyone to get a piece, and with the right approach your competitors can become your best resource. 

Management is where it falls a part in this company. There is so much movement taking place with upper-management. In one year my region went through six Regional Mangers; my district went through four District Managers, and almost all executive positions changed hands at least once. Every time one of these positions changed hands employees were moved or terminated and policies and procedures were modified, discontinued, replaced, or invented. This was the hardest part of the job. In one month alone the loan process was changed more than four times which resulted in an increase of approval time two to three times longer than the original process. The constant changes make it extremely challenging to train and retain new hires, and complicate the flow in time management to complete to vast amount of tasks that need to be completed in a day. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is the multifaceted structure. There is a freedom in being able to leave the store to meet with vendors, conduct field visits, and interact with the local business community. I also enjoy employee development. It is very easy for entry-level employees to move up in this company, and those who do well get a lot of praise and attention. Overall, this is a great place to get your foot in the door, but not the best place to plant roots for a career.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The tasks are generally easy,  I feel like I can always turn to a member of the team with questions, I enjoy talking to my co-workers and I feel like I have a great team. I appreciate that all of our systems work well, we are getting consistent upgrades and IT is always working out the bugs.  I am excited to try the new tablets that we received yesterday. I like the company and the work,  and I am looking forward to growing here.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
We are constantly so busy and short handed that I have been unable to finish many of my training modules.  The rate of pay for ASM isn't enough to afford my rent and utilities as a single woman in an apartment.  I was offered an SM position in Knox to start but chose to stay in Morristown to see if like the company, in the position of ASM.  I have been anxiously awaiting info on an SM position. I have been striving for the SM role and yet have not completed my training because our store is so busy.  Our current SM is covering a maternity leave in another store and will be gone for the next couple months. Our store is spread thin; we don't even make it through calls everyday. We are a million dollar store. We are supposed to be a team of 4, yet only have 2 in my store currently, and Morristown doesn't even have the employment referral listed for our store,  or a job listing available to apply for although we are actively looking for a CSR. I've had three DDO's since I started. My current DDO hasn't responded to me in over a week although I have reached out 3 times about my training and a potential SM role.  

Its frustrating to not be finishing our daily tasks, cannot do overtime to get them completed, and I don't feel accomplished when I leave work for the day.  If I can't get my daily work completed,  my learning and growth are stunted because I am unable to spend time learning the tasks to improve and be eligible to promote within the company.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Rigid, but lighthearted usually. Our shout outs are supposed to be encouraging, but I have been told its actually a bragging contest. Sometimes it's so busy that I am pulled in many directions and cannot complete tasks.  I will often revisit a simple task multiple times before being able to complete it. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come in, clock in, get outgoing titles to be sent to clerk's office completed, start collection calls, get distracted by a loan or two, try to jump back into calls, complete a few payments or inquiries, store errands (bank, post office, clerks office), hopefully somewhere before 3 pm is a lunch break, finish collection calls, do another loan, process some of the new loans, start the 100 paid out calls if time allows.

TMX is a growing company that offers great rewards at taking great risk.  I co-ran a location in Fenton, MO for 4 years, had great leadership that allowed us to run the location with the vision of putting the customer first, knowing that profit would follow.  Our numbers proved our beliefs, we made a lot of income and developed relationships with our customers. I am thankful to my district and regional manager for their patients in allowing our methods to grow a customer base over those 4 years, I learned a lot.  We ran our location quite different than other locations.  We understood that everyone walking through the door had a problem and we did everything we could to be a solution to the problem, not make it a bigger one by the time they walked out of the office.  We treated every person with respect, and showed them how they could, within their own means,  shorten the term of the loan and not have to pay back all the interest.  Now did everyone implement those plans?  of course not, but when anyone complained about the interest we were able to sit them down and show them what we went over at the beginning and explain to them the benefits of implementing the plan.  I can't tell you how many times I heard the exact phrase "Yea you are right, you did show me that, I need to start doing that." all of the angst toward us, my employees or the company itself was vanquished and the responsibility was placed in their hands.  Over that four years I developed a great relationship with our customers, and to this day still see some of them out in public.  Many explain how the location has changed dramatically, and they refuse to do business there anymore after my general manager and myself were let go.  I think if TMX would take more of a stance on how they treat their customers they would grow even more.  The owners are very intelligent however in mass producing locations.  We thrived on repeat customers in Fenton because of they way we treated people, but I know each location is very different as far as the population, household income, types of vehicles ect.. Inner city locations have different issues than suburban areas and visa versa.  Each location is different, but I believe if you come to a level of respect for the individual, genuinely caring about the individuals situation and genuinely want to help them and not just see them as a way of getting better numbers, each location could have that in common as a driving force for success.  You can have a lot of fun with TMX or it can be the worst position you've ever taken, but 99% of it depends on you.  You will get out of it what you put in.   Be blessed in your decision.

I worked for this company almost two years and at first it wasn't that bad. Yes it did consist of mostly collections but that's the name of the game if your not selling your collecting.

I have children so it was very rough as a single mother working open to close everyday day except Sunday only sure day off because we were closed.

I started in a different state and I found after working in 3 states that the companies home state was the worst.

There is no job security unless you personally know one of the higher ups. 

I saw way to many deceitful actions while working there and the sad part about it is that upper management was OK with it. I had to back up a co-worker who showed up to work "not in the right frame of mind" and made a costly mistake.

When I could not take it anymore I called the employee hotline against my gut feeling to just suck it up as I had been doing for almost 2yrs, well two weeks to the day I called I was let go and the reason was unexcussed absences which was mind blowing to me because I never had one. 

They claim integrity as a main core value for this company but that is not the case at all. 

If you are a person who believes in morals and standards then stay away from TMX.  

This company has no real business plan for growth they love popping out stores in areas where they are not needed then blame the GM for not making the store grow. Well growth is hard when you have three stores within 3miles of each other. Now don't get me wrong you can see growth I know my store in the  previous state I was in experienced it but unfortunately that is only the case when they first start up in a new state, soon greed overwhelms judgement and they want to attempt to corner the market but end up hanging themselves. 

God forbid you be placed in a store where competition is just way overwhelming and not just from actual competitors but from your own company it is and will always be your fault your store is failing.  

No matter if a store is doing well or not the company will not cut it's losses and close the location and if you make that suggestion you will be promoted to customer as it has happen to a few VPs. 

Be very mindful of what you are getting into with this company,  read up on your states regulations before applying because in some states the law will make your job even more stressful then it already is and the state law is not an excuse for poor profit.

I did meet wonderful customers and a few decent individuals.

But at the end of the day my previous employer was a much better company with actual realistic goals and a true work/life balance. I was definitely fooled my the recruiter and the possibility of making a huge income, the money was not worth the headache.

Do not work for this company, if you wish to keep your life. A typical day for a GM consisted of driving all over Houston conducting field visits (visiting customers at home or work) Imagine the traffic! My DM expected us to be in the store as much as possible but also expected us to do all the outside field work. From what I understand, being in two places at once is almost nearly impossible. My DM was the worst. He was previously a GM at the store in the Heights and received a promotion. This guy didn't even run a successful store (no track record to prove he was capable to manage 10 other stores!) All this guy would do was go to your store, perform an audit based off of compliance, performance, etc., leave, THEN he'd go to other stores and talk about you to other General Managers. This guy had no sense. He wouldn't even review our audits with us. Just email, print, sign and file. After awhile I just stopped printing them. He didn't even notice. Instead of building teams within the work place he would just put everyone against each other. Working for this guy, I learned all things NOT to do when I'm running my own business one day. He never did any coaching or training. Just talked about how all the GM's in his district were sorry (which we weren't, he was a lousy manager.) Some people were great to work with. You could tell who had been with the company for awhile. They were the people who were always in a bad mood.  The most difficult part of the job was dealing with management. The most enjoyable- meeting new people every day. That was great. And I'll miss it. But do yourself a favor, don't work for this company. Pay is ok. But it doesn't amount to the time you'll be spending away from home. I had to have a social life during lunch! Not only that, our recent RM was let go. This company brought in a guy who talks about nothing but "Kansas this and Kansas that. " We had a meeting about a week ago and it was the most confusing meeting I've ever attended. This guy was telling us not to follow some policies and procedures and to not let corporate find out we weren't, but two minutes later he'd reprimand us for supposedly not following polices and procedures. I hope that this review has assisted you in making the right choice and saves your life as well. Good luck!  Gathered requirements from the business users, created technical specification documents. Designed and reviewed the new report standards in order to ensure optimized performance under the new reporting service SSRS 2005/2008.
 Planned, designed and documented the optimum usage of space requirements and distribution of space for the Data Warehouse.

Title Max was a great place to work for. I met so many different customers that were in need of borrowing cash, and were willing to put their car up for collateral to do so. Title Max was a place that really showed your heart and emotions for a customer because of the situation and all you could do was reach out and help them in their situation. Things I learned while working with Title Max, account management, collections, achieving goals for different areas than what I was familiar with, state repossession process, state title process, title audits, closing loans, different ways to do marketing so that we could exceed our goals,  and how to work with those types of customers versus cell phone customers. The management their was all about growing the stores and keeping up on collections. They were very caring, and definitely liked to help the employees succeed in the store. They were very detailed and strict when it came to auditing the store, because the state audit would cost us money if you failed items that were to be audited. Them being strict on us really helped. The co-workers all worked as a team on everything we did. We teamed up and did all the marketing together and they would help us while closing the loan with all the paperwork, appraisals, and talking to the customer while you are doing paperwork. Great employees overall they would go above and beyond for one another. The hardest part of the job was going out and field visiting customers do to their past due on the account. It was very dangerous you never knew what you would come in contact with. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with co-workers and marketing. Going out and marketing and enjoying the weather was really enjoyable as well.
