The mission statement is good, and I believe that most of the employees generally do their best to do good for our members. It is an inclusive and diverse workplace. The progressive bona fides are definitely there. However, the management of the company seems to care more about image than the internal workings of the company. Our systems are outdated and slow. Things that could easily be automated are done manually instead, wasting time and money. It's not uncommon for departments to refuse to cooperate with each other, and in some cases, larger departments will actively bully smaller ones.  In fact, I'm not putting my actual position here because I'm terrified of another department head.  We are a not-for-profit MCO, yet we seem to be focusing heavily on marketing at the moment, so sales staff are lauded constantly by executives while worker bees go unnoticed.  My department is perennially understaffed, underpaid, overworked, and pushed around.  To be blunt, I want out. I love my coworkers and my boss is super cool...but I just can't deal with CHPW for much longer.  Please think twice before applying here. They'll talk a big game, but you'll grow to hate your job in a few years.

On the surface, this agency looks and sounds great.  The reality is management is so far removed from the people we work with and from the staff.  Caseloads are high, work flow constantly changing, different performance standards for different people depending on if supervisor likes you or not.  No concern for work life balance,  staff treated like robots with no autonomy, not valued for the incredible work they do.  Best part is working from home, serving members and helping them find healthcare, and an amazing team of case managers.  Don't work here unless you can thrive in a very tightly controlled job environment with high productivity goals, and don't ever speak your mind or ask questions or you will be micromanaged and treated poorly until you can find another job or are terminated.

Remote CSR for government entity operating in Health Insurance division overseeing clients who call in daily about their various benefits.  Learned to ask questions if did not know something.  In the interim management was tough and their initial communication unclear especially during time when there was a technology shift to VoIP but afterwards they made things more clear and coworkers knew what to expect.  Hardest part of the job is dealing is staying calm 
 with angry clients who yell and blatantly call you slurs or you are not good enough.  Most enjoyable part of job are the clients who understand being a CSR is not easy and verbally acknowledge your amazingness.

Great place to work, unfortunately the office was located in downtown Seattle and the commute was taking a toll on me.  I would recommend CHPW to anyone that live in the Seattle area or even in the Northend .  We all worked as a team and helped each other in a time of need.  We had great office parties and it almost felt like family.  Working hard  in a friendly environment, to be the best at the job you are assigned.  Always room to move up and encouraged to do so. A typical day is to get through as minimum of 120 calls explaining to members about their coverage or to help get on the Washington Healthplan finder in order to receive the ACA.  Taking surveys to be sure that all of the members questions where answered and they understood their coverage.

The job started out great.  I was actually proud to work there for about a year, and then things went south.  The micromanaging began, the case load went up as did the responsibilities.  I don't mind working hard, but when you have a quota to meet and they give you all these other tasks to complete that do not count toward the quota and also raise the quota you need to meet, this makes for a very stressful work life. They have a LPN with little experience in charge of several RNs, some with Masters degrees.  And I'm sure she was hired as a puppet to keep an eye on us. 
The last draw wasn't my choice though as they fired me the day I returned from medical leave. 
The bottom line is that it's a numbers game for them, and you are replaceable—no concern for you as a human being, or a professional. 

Community Health Plan is a growing state medicare provider. This company has the potential to provide needed medicare services to Washington Stare residents. While growth has been available, Community Health needs to provide adequate tools to service all clients that are available for services. Management needs to honestly address the employees needs to in turn properly address all clients requirements.The employees are wonderful to work with. But turnover is hampering the clients access to benefits and employee prospective career paths within the company.

Assisting members and providers with benefits.Making a difference, whether it be small, to help the members and providers.

Low morale, Pay is decent, but not worth it because they expect you to work 12 hour days M-F at a high rate of speed and push you out when you are on edge of burn out, no support from leadership, no sense of community, you will be asked to discuss race with coworkers in groups without proper support in place to protect one’s career. Members are the best thing at CHPW and other employees. Would not recommend unfortunately.

Dealing with management and 'caste-oriented' IT and BI managers

Unknown - work was 100% virtual, Americans were great, the "Caste Thinkers" were stressful to deal with.

Queries, business process, how the app or report meets the business needs.

-Processing Personal Health Information for members.
-Producing daily/weekly spreadsheets for Call Summary Reports, individual representative call intakes.
-Assisting Supervisors with KPI reports
-Processing daily incoming/outgoing mail.
-Excellent work environment/work culture.

-I have learned great time management skills along with organizational skills in conducting weekly meetings on department progress.
