Firstly; if you are a person of high spiritual, moral and ethical standards, don't bother to apply. You will soon be required to lose them all, because the hype of "We love the people we serve." is just that, hype.
The payscale was pretty good for my area. Pto is reasonable, but if you leave you won't get any balance of it. Insurance is practically worthless for the hourly employee. Premiums and deductibles are so high, you're better off taking the penalty and paying OO pocket. 
I worked for these so-called professionals for a year. The only real professionals within their walls are the hourly employees who haven't had their Monarch awakening yet.
There are no real standard procedures, because upper and middle management trades places so often the ink on the last procedure isn't cold before the next manager sends down another.
And if you expect to get appreciated for what you do, forget it. Management is constantly shooting emails around, blowing each others' horn, while doing absolutely nothing for the hourly employee.
Be careful. Don't make anyone above you angry. The managers will lie collectively to justify your reprimand, or even termination. Remember, HR is in the group with them. You'll have no advocate there. What you say to them comes back to your boss.
Oooh. Word to the wise. You will have no friends. Everyone you work with is a rat in the wood pile.
A typical day at work: Loving the patients served, and the shame is they have no continuity with care givers because the caregivers are always leaving or getting fired. 
It was always rush, rush, rush, but I loved it. I did it for the patients, and those people know it.
What I learned: Read the first five or six paragraphs.

Coworkers: I liked them, loved several, but most will gang up on you with gossip.
 Hardest part of the job: Having to accept the fact I allowed myself to be snow jobbed by catty, gossipy, unqualified petty managers.

I have been working for Monarch for going on 5 years now & I absolutely LOVE this company. For the first time in my career I feel like I'm working for a company that truly cares about people, both employees and clients. You really feel that the company and management believe in their mission statement and seem to be working hard to create a positive work culture for everyone. I am frequently told to "do what is right" for our clients and our staff. I have been given ample opportunity to move up within the company and there are always opportunities to be had in various areas of the agency. The benefits here are very competitive compared to other companies in the Mental health field and the company is working to improve benefits for staff...they have added different benefits at least twice since I've been here. My supervisor is extremely supportive and cares about me as a person, not just a number or my productivity. 

      My days are busy and fast paced, but my work schedule is somewhat flexible, which is nice. The hardest part of my job is prioritizing tasks and getting everything done that I need/want to in a day. One thing I would say could improve is the organization/structure of training as an agency....it is somewhat unorganized and ineffective at times in providing the right training/support needed for staff. Also, Sometimes it doesn't feel like we quite have what we need (resources) to get the job done to the standard of excellence that I would like to; however, I feel that this is the same as most non-profit companies and is kind of a hazard of working in this field. 

     The most enjoyable part of my job is that no two days are the same, there is always something new and interesting and I feel like I get to help people on some level all day long....the flexibility of my schedule is also very nice. I have seen many people leave Monarch & more times than not it is because they have a negative attitude and/or limited work ethic to do things the right way. Overall, if you are a good worker that has passion about what they do, this is a great place to work if you want to make a difference.

I absolutely love my job at Monarch! It is a GREAT company to work for! First and foremost, families come first! I love that about Monarch! If I need a day off work, I have never had an issue in getting the time approved, whether it be for a doctor appointment, sickness, or vacation time. My office manager and bosses above her have always expressed how important our families are and that family comes first. I also love the fact that our patients are so well taken care of! Our patient's needs, no matter how big or small, always comes first. Our providers and therapist go above and beyond to help our patients! I see firsthand every day what a difference our services make for people with mental health diagnosis. 
The management at Monarch is some of the best "bosses" I have worked for, even though I consider most of them family instead of looking at them as bosses. I know I can go to either one of them and talk to them about anything and not be judged and my issues will be resolved in a timely manner. My office administer is the best! Instead of sitting in her office behind her desk, she is right up front helping me when I need it. The atmosphere in our office is professional but laid back. I enjoy that. There is no stress (well, very little. Working in health care sometimes is stressful in itself) and No drama! It is important to be at a job that you feel good about coming into every day and enjoy! Also, there is plenty of opportunity for career advancement at Monarch, if that is something you want. 
Overall, just know that every job has its good days and bad days. Any job is what YOU put into it. But having a GREAT team makes it that much easier and that is exactly what I have at Monarch. If you are considering a job in the healthcare field, I would highly recommend considering Monarch.  

I have truly enjoyed working at Monarch for the last 5+ years. I have grown my career and my skills exponentially while working here. Their benefits for clinicians (license reimbursement, supervision/CEU reimbursement, freee CEUs/trainings) have helped me to develop as a clinician. I have had supervisors that have helped me to grow my skills as a leader and a professional in this field. The agency has a lot of opportunity to offer. It is a larger stable agency that is always changing and so there are always opportunities for advancement/change etc. I enjoy the flexiblility of my current position. I work HARD and sometimes the work/life balance is difficult (as it is with any position/agency in this field) but the fleixbility afforded to me makes the job feasible. I feel like the overall culture of the agency is positive and team oriented. I have always felt supported. For the most part, it is easy to see that the agency truly cares about the clients supported and the employees. Like with any agency, there is room for improvement on some things....internal communication, decision making processes at times, transparency in decision making, benefits. However, overall the positives of this agency far outweigh the areas where they need to improve a bit. Love this agency & Love the work that we do!!!

What is the best part of working at the company?
This is the worst company I have ever worked for in my entire life. They take advantage of their employees kindness to stay despite their very poor treatment and complete lack of concern or understanding. If you really want to feel like a souless robot pumping numbers in their bank account at the cost of patients lack of treatment and no one position to take the employees side in pay, support, training, ligation and appreciation, work for this company. It is all about bank and nothing about patients and staff. You will be worked to the ground, stressed out to the point you’ll have major health issues,  and no one will help or care. If something happens it’s all on front line staff with no support. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Impossible workloads, very stressful patients and lack of training across the board from lower to upper positions will get staff in bad situations where they will regret not leaving sooner. And any response to this review or any concerns while working for them are superficial and empty.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
No culture. No money for that. No regulation of employee’s workload or quality of work life. All about the positive books while ruining people’s work life and careers. Don’t ask them for a raise. Even 25 cent is “too much”. Very rarely employees get raises on annual reviews.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It’s like having a nightmare where there is too much work and you’ll never get everything done. Then you’ll lose your career over the work you didn’t get to.

Initially I thought Monarch was  a great place to work with a lot of team work and support provided. That was not the case. The responsibilities of the job are appropriate, however in larger cities and rural areas, I do think the pay compensation and gas reimbursement is not sufficient. Trainings are great. I observed that immediate supervisors are not supportive. They pass on work that they do not want to complete, however they sign off on treatment plans that they themselves did not complete. There is definitely a lack of communication in higher management. There was not a good transition of management. I had no one to report to for 3-4 months (I had only started a month and a half before I no longer had an immediate supervisor). There is lack of support when voicing concerns especially ethical ones. Unfortunately I became a target when I voiced concerns to immediate supervisor (no change came about) addressed concerns with their supervisor, which was a bad idea because in turn I became a target and was fired. It was really unfortunate because I was dedicated to getting the families the services they needed. There was no cohesiveness in the team approach, because some counselors would do things that another counselor was not comfortable doing and caused an issue of lack of client participation and parents thinking that "that's how it is supposed to be"

Assists in reporting of data to the Local Mental Entity (LME), reviewing medical records for quantitative accuracy and completeness, and ensuring records are prepared for billing. 
Checks for insurance status of people receiving services and assists in the downloading of psychiatric evaluations and maintaining data bases. Works with other clerical support staff to ensure that telephone and reception functions are done. Provide care to individuals receiving services in a manner that ensures safety, clients rights, confidentiality, comfort, dignity and a therapeutic environment. Carry out functions that contribute to the effectiveness and safety of the unit including crisis intervention, taking vital signs, observation of individuals receiving services. Responsible for maintaining inventory supplies and make appropriate requisitions. Ensure an environment conducive to recovery consistent with and Crisis Services philosophy and best practice. Respect the rights of individuals receiving services to make choices within the available parameters and make every effort to follow the individuals receiving services crisis plan. Work with clients and families and other team members to ensure the crisis stabilization unit provides individuals receiving services with a safe and supportive environment consistent with recovery concepts and person centered planning.

Work is very routine. Very very few opportunities to move up unless in leadership. Low pay. The main issue is the lack of benefits. The health insurance is medcost (iykyk) vision is eye med. For hourly pto is 8 hrs a month. No sick time. When there is inclement weather or clinic closures, you have to use your pto which is already a slow accrual. Also, if your schedule is 10hrs or more, and there is a holiday, Monarch will only pay 8hrs. Meaning you will be short hours until you have pto to cover the gap. There is no paid leave for hourly. Best you can do is fmla which is federal and unpaid. No maternity leave. No mental health days. I can not stress enough no paid leave for hourly (I know nothing about salary). No short term disability. It’s a stable job but it’s not going to grow with you. This is not somewhere you’d stay when starting a family or if you’re older and having health issues. There is no promotion in certain roles. If you do go on medical leave they will switch you to prn and list your job with no guarantee it will still be there. Certain roles have very high turnover due to the issues above. Coworkers are great, duties are very routine. It’s not a bad job just not a long term job. If you’re young or don’t care at all about benefits, go for it.

I have worked in this field since 2001, in NY and in NC. Monarch is a person centered company. This does not only apply to the people we support, but to staff also. My experience has been that management takes into account that we all have families and obligations other than work that sometimes need our attention. 
I have been an hourly employee and now am in management and have felt appreciated as both. My opinion and suggestions are welcomed and valued. I also like that the CEO posts a memo each Monday with pertinent info regarding policies and procedures, important news and updates, as well as success stories of the people we support and employees. It helps me feel connected to the upper levels of management, which is not always the case within a large company. Overall, I have been happy at this company for the last 4+ years- I never wake up thinking, "Ugh, i have to go to work.". I like my job, my supervisors, my coworkers and the people we support. I recommend this company as an employer, and I recommend it to people looking for placement for their loved ones. 

I was hired for one job as a therapist and moved into a different therapist position. They open your schedule to potentially see 8 clients per day, which could include assessments or one hour therapy sessions.  I would not even attempt to see that many clients if I were doing private practice and making way more money!  They offered almost no training even after I repeatedly complained about not being trained, and I was asked to work on a Saturday to get even minimal training as senior staff did not have time to do it during my work hours.  I was also asked to recommend services for programs for which I was never even given the criteria!   They just expected me to recommend whatever they directed me to recommend, which is risky and unethical. They place clients on your schedule from around the state with zero communication about the clients' needs or why they may have been transitioned from another therapist.  Management seemed to take no initiative or responsibility in preparing you to be successful in the job and will try to work you to death in the name if productivity standards and billing.  Just a horrible experience!
