Manager hired me knowing I didn't have all the skills for the job, that I would have to learn, and then fired me because I didn't have the skills he wanted. After 6 weeks.  He did absolutely nothing to help me ramp up and acquire the skills I needed to learn.  He ignored learning opportunities. I was told that if I struggled figuring something out for more than 30 minutes I should get with him and ask for help.  When I asked for help after a full day of trying to figure out part of a project he accused me of not doing any problem solving myself and coming to him for the solution.  Which was in no way true and contradicted what he said at the beginning.  He was an awful communicator and I wonder if he had ever been a manager before. Changed instructions on projects, contradicted himself etc..  No proof of course but I started getting a feeling something was fishy after about two weeks on the job.  Something didn't feel right.  When i was terminated the HR rep and my manager kept talking about a performance plan that I apparently never saw.  I repeatedly asked them what document they were talking about, that the only document I ever received showed that I was right on track.  They completely ignored this question.  Something wasn't right about this position.

The amount of mis information passed during training  to when you reach the floor is insane. Extremely disorganized, management tells you to reach out if you need help but chastises you if you ask for help. Don’t feel like I can go to anyone about anything, constant system issues that they try to pin on the user  .  Higher ups never want to take an escalation  when customer asks for them , no real guidance or team motivation from Unit managers , sometimes you get a response on important issues from UMs sometimes you don’t . They make you feel replaceable even with hard work, no occurrences and meeting all goals. You are just a number to them

Also if you have doctor’s appointments, health issues  or are sick good luck with that. There’s no excuses even with a doctor’s note but during training they say medical stuff is covered. It’s not. If it’s anything other than Covid you are getting a point for it. Point system is strict with no wiggle room. 

When I started this company was fun responsive and open to feedback from the bottom to the top, After the pandemic hit it started to change. Management is not engaged in employee success, entry workers are given a bare minimum of knowledge to get the job done, and problems and suggestions to improve things are not welcome even though management knows there is a problem. Entry level wages were raised without giving established persons a raise commensurate to match so rather than make considerably more than the entry level person for my position I make  a modest amount more even though I know I am worth more than that so I am looking to leave. You should do yourself a favor and work somewhere else too. This company needs a year or two to figure out how to be a good company again assuming they actually retain enough good people to figure it out.

The company is still new, and recently tripled its work force last holiday season (2017) which results in a lot of growing pains. Recent changes in leadership are less than ideal, putting people with tempers, control issues, or people who just don't care in positions of power. Hard to maintain work-life balance with poor scheduling. In addition, systems required to do the job are horribly outdated, unreliable, and difficult to navigate. Training is lacking, most of it done on the job resulting in many mistakes that affect the customers and the company adversely. 

Despite all of the negative there are some quality people working here despite the company's many issues. They can help you get through the most difficult days.

The work is slow paced outside of peak season (perhaps too slow paced. Often times sitting there for 30 minutes at a time waiting for something to happen).

Working at Genesis Financial Solutions has given me the entry level experience after graduating from college that I needed to expand my knowledge in a financial institution/ office environment. My typical day is 8:30 am to 5:00 Mon-Fri, I love this schedule! I enjoy my my co workers and management, everyone here is very friendly. I like the customer service aspect of the position, and the satisfaction of helping a consumer settle and resolve their debt. I also like the fact that working here has given me experience with lending, working with credit. The hardest part of this job is making outbound calls for collections. It takes thick skin for the job which I have, and our compensation is a good benefit, however I would like to implement my education and work experience into a career with a more enjoyable position.

Stay away. Management is horrible. Especially in the back office. Frontline at least seems to care a little more. They cant keep managers, they quit all the time. No one knows whats going on. And the compassion for the employees is 0. They care only about numbers. If you have questions on anything, you could ask at 9am and not get an answer until 4pm if at all. Then you get in trouble for not meeting quota. Then a department that knows nothing about your job grades your work, will fail you, and management doesnt do anything to fight for the employee. Probably their way of getting rid of people and writing them up. I cant list specific examples without being found out. If I had the ability to leave I would.  HR is just as incompetent. And the pay is not worth the stress this place brings. Guarantee the same job somewhere else gets paid dollars more on the hour. Go somewhere else. 

This company is horrible to work for. You are penalized for everything. If you are on a call assisting  a customer and go pass break time, you get penalized. Your breaks and lunch will change everyday and maybe even during the day.  Your breaks and lunches are so close together.  They find every excuse not to give you a bonus. Nothing is ever consistent as far as instructions. If you call off sick, you get penalized. If you sign into the system early being them system always having issues, you get penalized. Your pay is minimum wages and they work you really hard for that pay.  They micromanage everything but don’t put money into making sure the system is running properly, how sad.   You make one mistake and there goes your bonus for the month. I can’t even afford to invest in 401.

This company use to be a good company to work for. Super laid back, fun, and you felt valued as an employee. Unfortunately, things have drastically changed since 2020. 
-Communication is terrible all around, leadership has absolutely no sense of direction on anything. 
-Employees are not provided with the tools that are needed to succeed or meet expectations, yet, are still expected to meet unrealistic daily quotas. 
-Micromanagement has become a HUGE focus to this company.
- Constant stress of having to go into office for "punishment" being hung over your head daily if production or OM scores do not meet expectations.
-Sense of job security, no matter how well you do or how much you do, is very low.

Working from home was nice, but not worth all the stress in the end. 

The only positive thing I can say about this company is WFH. This company will absolutely destroy your mental state of mind. The leadership micromanagement is out of this world. Every single thing you do on a daily basis will be under a microscope. Employees are not supported nor are they empowered to make decisions. Leadership with extensive tenure are leaving the company. The senior leaders will make you terrified for your job. Advancement opportunities are riddled with nepotism & entire departments are unhappy with the toxic culture. The leaders do not communicate effectively and the company is undergoing a rebranding to try and repair a tarnished reputation. 0 out of 5 stars do not recommend! Do yourself a favor and do not apply for anything with Genesis Financial/Concora Credit.

Management wants to see people succeed and builds a culture that helps with growth.  Growth opportunities seem to cap out after moving so far up, as higher level positions don't open frequently.  Lot of long-time employees in management show stability.  Company continues to grow, but some areas still feel bottlenecks for growth.

Pay and benefits are alright.  Pay could be more competitive for some positions, but many departments have performance bonuses that are monthly.
