The work itself is rewarding. In the beginning everything and everyone was wonderful. Management was there for you; they were always friendly and helpful. Now all I see is favoritism on management side. New people are able to advance faster than the OG's. Management always has the door closed from the office, very rarely do you see the door open and when you do you never know if they are in a good or bad mood because of the look on their face. You only get called to their office if they feel you have done something wrong but never is there a word of encouragement, nor are people recognized for their hard work and/or going up and beyond their work scope. Instead of teaching when something isn't done the "right way" you get fired. Some new people who are in your same roll have way more access to everywhere in the building but when they are needed so something can be retrieved no one is around. Although eating is not allowed in the nurse's station it's done all the time even by supervisors but if you do it, they run to management to tell on you. Techs, floor supervisors and case managers have access to the med room which is totally inappropriate because it should only be nurses. You get reprimanded for the dumbest things, written up when it's not your fault. One person can do and undo in here and never get told anything and others for the smallest things get fired or may do the same as the others, but you will get in trouble but not others. You can't use your phone on the floor (which is understandable) but others are using their Meta glasses to talk on the phone, and nothing is done. Get this another person can be in your same roll and get paid way more than what others do, and this happens even though you can have mor experience then that one making more, so pay is not based on experience it based on whether you are liked or not. Careful with getting on the bad side of management because they don't ever let it go, and you will forever know that you are on their bad side, they show it with looks, condescending comments or treat you like you are plain stupid .You are seen for your personality not how good of a job you are doing. One employee practically uses to live in this place did everything she was asked to do, so basically a puppet, now they have them on the schedule for only 3 days and deny her when she tries to pick up shifts. Another employee cannot see if there are any available shifts because she got blocked. I could go on and on. If only headquarters new how things are really done here, 
So, if you decide to work here because of the mission then you are good. Oh, and always keep in mind that you will at some point get beat up by a pt.

I want to say this first - I was super excited to work here. I loved the schedule (12 hour shifts) and I loved that they worked with me to find the right schedule for me. My interview went really well and I left that interview feeling positive and pretty well prepared for what to expect from the job. 

Training was meh. There was a week of orientation in which you take certifications like Safe-Clinch and Therapeutic Options. My Safe Clinch instructor was fantastic and did a great job explaining all of the concepts. 

The job itself is absolutely exhausting. They are constantly understaffed and you're often doing the work of 2 people. At the end of a shift, I felt drained and run ragged. 

The support from management is basically non-existent. I initially started off with a great Lead that was supportive, kind, and willing to help always. You needed a break? He's there. You need extra training? He'll help you. You need time off? Say less, he'll find coverage. But then he was let go, and it fell apart completely. No guidance, no positive feedback, no feedback AT ALL. Getting help with anything was next to impossible and always felt like a bother. 

In the end, I left feeling really negative about the company. Very little support and next to ZERO feedback. The team is catty, cliquey, and mean. I literally heard an employee tell a patient, "get the F out of my face. Get your nasty face away from me." After that, I was ready to throw in the towel. 

If you want to work in this field, I highly recommend going elsewhere. Crisis work is difficult as it is, and you add bad leaders and even worse coworkers on top of it, it's just not worth it.  

I worked at Connections Health solutions for about 1.5yrs. Although my employment started out great and welcoming, it slowly turned to disappointment. I know my self worth and how hard of a worker I am- however the management at connections does not acknowledge anyone’s hard work. According to employees I worked with..they got a .40 CENT raise after their performance review. I was constantly torn down by my coworkers and even when I thought I could confide in someone, they would always turn their back on me and talk smack. It is VERY VERY VERY clique-y here. I wish I knew early on that no matter how hard you work to try and advance in this company it would never happen. I ended up working myself to the bone and instead of being promoted, my position was eliminated. My boss would walk by my office several times a day and not once did they ever acknowledge me, ask if I needed help, asked how things were going, or stopped to say hello. The culture at this company really needs to change. It is a fast paced environment and no one is in the mental health field for the pay, but employees here tear each other down constantly and it’s not right at all. Honestly, I do want to thank this company for eliminating my position and pushing me in the right direction to find a different company that actually values how much I care for these patients, how much I want to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling with mental health, and how my extensive/unique skills and abilities make me a valuable employee.

A typical day at Connections Kirkland is busy and fast-paced but also rewarding. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a difference, and no two days are exactly the same. I’ve learned so much here about collaboration, problem-solving, and the importance of meeting people where they’re at.

Management is approachable, responsive, and genuinely invested in both staff and the people we serve. The workplace culture is one of teamwork and support and on the harder days, we rally around each other to get through, and on the good days, we celebrate our wins together.

The hardest part of the job can be navigating the fast pace and the occasional high-pressure situations, but those moments are balanced by the most enjoyable part of working alongside a dedicated team that truly cares about their work.

Connections Kirkland is growing and thriving in the community thanks to the combined efforts of employees, leadership, stakeholders, and community partners. While it’s not always easy, it is a place where people support each other and where the work genuinely matters. Connections Health Solutions plays an important role in behavioral health, and many frontline employees are deeply committed to the mission. However, my experience as an HR leader was significantly impacted by structural and leadership challenges that made the work far more difficult than it needed to be.
HR reported directly to Finance and Legal, which created conflicting priorities and limited our ability to operate as a true people‑focused partner. Leadership decisions were often inconsistent, communication lacked clarity, and I frequently found myself unable to trust the direction being set.
Following multiple layoffs within the department, I was responsible for the work of four different roles without additional support, resources, or realistic expectations. This resulted in an unsustainable workload and made it difficult to implement long‑term solutions or provide the level of strategic partnership the organization needed.
The mission is meaningful, but the internal structure, leadership alignment, and staffing approach require significant improvement for employees to succeed and for HR to function effectively.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part was actually being able to help someone in need

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You get hostile patients and providers will not medicate until someone gets physically assaulted and if you are on a "walkdown" of a PT you will get fired if the the "walkdown" does not look good or if it looks like you are too physical.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very TOXIC managers will say that they will support you and when the time comes they leave out to dry. leadership is extremely two faced and very much a good ol boys club they put YES individuals in leadership positions rather then people who will both support the employees and what is best for the PT. I was with the company before it went corporate and they had really good PT care since going corporate they will only treat symptoms and then kick the individual out to the public.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
extremely stressful did not know if I was going to have a job day to day.

The Providers are constantly making terrible decisions and/or not giving out correct medications. The BHS staff are in cliques and your promotion is determined on if a certain amount of people like you-- not your experience. Most lower level management does not care about your mental wellbeing. It's still a work in progress but seems like Noone wants to change some things (or add activities)to help patients more. 

Will (and can)change your schedule whenever they want so get ready for that. They promote straight up bullies. Security thinks they're above BHS and will not help you on the floor. 30 min strict lunch breaks in a 12-13 hour shift. 

If youre highly likable and pretty I guess give it a try. But if you actually care about the patients abd the rules and progression. Do not take this job. 

The work environment was fast-paced and unpredictable, especially during shifts with inconsistent staffing. Many team members lacked prior behavioral health experience, which contributed to frequent escalations and placed additional strain on those trying to maintain a safe environment.

Training was minimal, and support from management was limited. Concerns regarding professionalism and conduct were often not addressed, which impacted workplace culture and morale. Team collaboration was inconsistent, and some employees seemed unmotivated and disconnected from the organization's mission.

While supporting individuals in crisis was meaningful, the overall lack of structure, accountability, and leadership made it a difficult and unsustainable place to work.


I enjoyed worked at the CRC in the beginning when I felt like we were actually doing RSS work, but with COVID that all changed. We then became assistants. Always being called to take temps at the front lobby, even if we were currently with a patient in crisis. A lot the time I was standing in for Behavioral Health Techs, but I am not trained to handle a physical outburst/takedown,  which makes it highly dangerous for myself and other individuals. I requested this training but was denied due to not officially being a BHT, company policy.

 Emotionally taxing so self awareness and self care are a must. 

As I approach my five-year anniversary with Connections, I find myself reflecting on how grateful I am to be part of such a meaningful organization. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow through four different roles—each one challenging me, teaching me, and helping me become a stronger leader.
