- Culture of management by fear and high pressure in sales. All based on some unrealistic expectations.

- Extreme micromanaging. Sales reps required to clock in and out daily. Reprimanded if not done. 

- Work on Saturday also expected.

- Immediate managers have no input or authority and are directed by managers above them who constantly micromanage. 

- Managers often talk down to sales team or have demeaning/negative tone toward sales reps. 

- Some Sr. managers have never worked as field reps and/or out of touch with how dealers operate. Yet they set the expectations. 

- Expectation of visiting 5 dealers daily and 5 key contacts at each (ridiculous expectation as some don't have this many contacts). 

- Company has negative reputation in marketplace with some dealers due to past bad experiences. 

- Funding can be slow and reps are told to stay out of funding but send out daily funding communications from assigned rep.

- Heavy emphasis on administrative tasks including some time-consuming tasks that have limited if any real value. 

- Reps not always set up to succeed:
     * Company keeps some local dealers assigned to inside sales rep and won't reassign to local rep.
     * Volume goals often set at unrealistic levels.
     * Majority of approvals are payment calls which most dealers don't use. Actual approvals have to be reworked by phone when competitors offer much better approval with no rehash required.

On the plus side, there are minimal meetings; freedom of schedule (self-determined) and can make some decent money if the territory produces high volume. However, the company will terminate employees in as little as a few months with no prior warning/notice. 

CPS Inc was a pretty standard line of work for an entree position for a lender.  We did sub prime car loans.  I spent the whole day essentially spam calling insurance companies, employers, the customer them-self as well as other points of contact needed to fund the customers loan.  My job was basically to be a private investigator for our customers.  I confirmed who they were and that their information is accurate so we can proceed with helping them buy their car.  I learned about many different things at CPS such as how credit works, how the process for a loan works, how to achieve information in a quick and timely matter.  I learned about customer service and how to give customers a quick turn around.  The hardest part of the job for sure was keeping up during busy season or tax season.  luckily you work in teams and if you get ahead or behind someone is there to help you out.  I certainly learned how import it is to have people you can count on and how to be dependable for your other employees. My favorite part about the job was the endless knowledge about the industry that my manager would provide me.  She helped me learn so much about so many different parts of the finance industry and it really helped me move forward in my own life as well as an employee.  I have also worked for companies where everything is a secret and you aren't allowed to ask questions about your job or why things operate the way they do.  That seems to be a negative work environment for employees who want to understand the business to move forward. I am thankful for my time and knowledge i gained working for CPS Inc.

a typical day at the office would start with me taking a 40 mile journey to work. Once I entered the office the atmosphere was really dry and dead and made you not want to be there. I was one of the few young adults they had working at the office and the co-workers for the most part were really stand-offish. Some were really nice but others didn't speak at all or say a simple good morning. I believe to have happy employees you must have a happy environment for them to work in. When I got to the company in November of 2014 they had just implemented a new group of managers who were previously working from home and received promotions to become managers so they were called back into the office. Majority of management knew nothing at all and getting help from them was like talking to a wall. I didn't understand seeing how I came from a previous job where I was the management in charge of 10 employees. It was a eye opener for me and I think the company could have done a better job picking management because not everyone is fit to manage others. The hardest part of work was getting help from management. The most enjoyable part of work was going on my hour lunch.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The possibility of the bonus.  When I was there, my coworkers were like family. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything. Very stressful, as collections always is.  Lots of quick changes in policy.  Management ALWAYS plays favorite…come in to work reeking of marijuana, if they like you, you will be promoted. Work your butt off, more than likely not.   Lots and lots of stress.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Its very cliquish.  Watch your back.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Skip tracing, hurry up.  Calls, hurry up.  Contest, hurry up. Wait, no, we are changing it around. Was there six years, stress got too bad, had Covid several times. They wouldn’t tell you if someone got it,so if you have health problems, watch out. Got too stressful for me.  It was not all bad. I was going through it at the end.

have to be on your first call by 759am so when 8am hits you are calling accounts.l you have 3-47 auto dialer campaigns that you are on along with your 250 accounts assigned to you that have to be worked. we had call scripts that had to me read word for word or you would fail on that call and a % of your monthly bonus was deducted. Average monthly bonus payout was $150.00 a month only if you hit the average of 90%. The management and VP of collections were not approachable and they did not want to hear feed back from the staff. i did enjoy the employees and other department management allot. it was the collections dept management was the hardest part of the job.

In the beginning, it was great! The pay, the benefits (AFLAC, 401k, amazing health plans), company picnics, Christmas parties and random raffles/games with various prizes. However you’ll soon see, there’s a lot of in office relations. Most of the time you won’t get anywhere (promotion wise) unless you’re really buddy buddy with a manager. Depending on your position your workload vs worth of pay could vary. I’ve seen very tenured employees with pay ranges from both ends of the scale. If you’re looking for a normal call center job and you have experience in collections or marketing (or even other niches in the auto industry) this could be your go to, the pay is rewarding if you only focus on your job and don’t get caught up in any drama, which that there is plenty. 

one of the best place to work, good environment and the management make sure you are happy on your job. when I started working at CPS I thought I will have a hard time coping on the job but I was wrong. working back in the Philippines as a customer service representative servicing clients here in the U.S is a big factor I am already familiar with the system and how to deal with different kinds of people. CPS trusted me and hired me even though I am just new here in the U.S I think my credentials helps a lot too, that is why in return I am doing my very best to be one of their best employee. and in return they acknowledge my hard work they gave me an employee of the quarter award last 2016 and recently I got the above and beyond award and I am so proud of it, CPS knows how to appreciate the effort of their people,

The employees are pleasant to work with and are supportive. 

It is by far the worst company I have ever worked for. If I could give 0, I would. The lack of communication between management, the favoritism, the verbal abuse out on the floor- it’s such a toxic environment. It’s no wonder why they have a huge turnover rate. I think management needs to bring it down a notch, without the employees they are out of a job and when they continue to abuse their employees verbally, I’m pretty sure when someone Is fed up and have compiled evidence- they should sue the living out of this place. Favoritism is the worst with this Las Vegas site. Beware. 

I don’t care about the perks or the healthcare, my mental health is more important than being in this toxic environment. Not worth the pay! 

Working at CPS has been great. The management and my co-workers are friendly and encouraging. When I mess up, they consider it a "training opportunity" to help me become a better employee and, maybe, a better person.  Personal development seems to be as important, if not more important, than performance improvement. 

CPS challenges its employees to perform at their best and to continually improve. If you are looking for a "kick back and get paid" job, CPS probably isn't for you. But if you want a job that is challenging and will force you to grow, this is the place. 

Opportunity abounds at CPS. As CPS continues to grow, they are opening new positions.  They believe in promoting from within. So, you may have to start at/near the bottom, but with the right attitude, the sky is the limit.

Don’t work here if you have kids!!! Good pay if you get promoted. I got rushed into taking a promotion and it went downhill from there. The job itself was ok, but management was not understanding. During the 2nd wave of the pandemic I was in the credit department and had to use all of my PTO when I got COVID but could not use my vacation time (which I had over 40 hrs of). During this time management changed as well. My child kept getting sick and I was not allowed to work remotely due to the promotion. They would not allow me to go back to my old position so that I could work remotely. The old manager was great but the new one sucks! Probably only 2 good supervisors in each department.
