CBH is a wonderful place to work. My boss is always supportive of my ideas and is a great leader and role model for me and my coworkers 
He doesn’t micromanage, yet he is always available for any questions or concerns that I have and he allows me to give my opinions, ideas, and feedback. Our CEO is equally fantastic. He has gone above and beyond to ensure that we feel valued and respected. He works very hard and would never ask any of us to do something that he would not or has done done for our hospital. My job is very fulfilling she is never boring or mundane. I love the interaction I get to have with my referral sources and I love giving information about our services. A typical day for me is traveling to referral sources to give them information about our services and thankng them for recent referrals as well as encouraging new ones.  The hardest part of my job is the fact that we can’t take every patient and sometimes the referral sources are frustrated that we aren’t able to acccomodate all of their patients. Sometimes the traveling is tiresome, but it is nice to not be in an office all day. 

Administration does nothing but sit in their office and have no idea what the nursing staff goes through that is so short handed endures on the units. Piles in the patients and has no staff to take care of patients. 
You have certain nurses who work endlessly to make a difference in the hospital and their dedication goes unnoticed. There is a nurse who works who does it all from supervising, to working the floor, to staffing the hospital because of the trust, safety, and support she gives to fellow workers she succeeds. I would work for “RR” any day. 
The knowledge she has verses the others who are supervisors has no comparison to the untrained supervisors who contribute nothing but being a body in a position with no real guidance. I can say when she works I had no worries and the environment always seemed to be in control. There is only a couple nurses holding that place together and I don’t see how they have been employed there for so long and still have the dedication they do! Kudos to them because I couldn’t continue that journey! To stressful and always had to work by myself if I worked on a day without the seasoned knowledgeable nurses. 
That place can not keep upper management because the place is always doing shady business. 

This hospital started out on the right track, it had great pt to staff ratio and management who cared. It originally provided a safe and therapeutic environment for its patients. Unfortunately, corporate greed and constant management turnover resulted in a hospital that will fill a bed with anyone who can pay even if unsafe (aggressive jail holds and predators mixed with Autistic, developmentally delayed patients which leads to frequent unwarranted assaults on peers), keeping pts longer than needed bc they have "paid days left", poor pt to staff ratios, and new management every 6 months. The overall lack of communication is the biggest problem. This hospital is now currently run by agency staff who are only there for the contract pay. The patients are constantly dismissed and the staff are treated like a warm body that's replaceable. It's unfournate because it could be one of the best behavioral health facilities in the state. Corporate seems to be the leading cause of this overall environment of employees are just bodies and patients are just profit.

a typical day at work ..is complete chaos up wards 20+ pts  per Nurse High acuity violent pt Jail holds when I was working one hit a nurse and jumped over the fence he wasn't to be out in the yard. slipped out during smoke break. I have felt afraid at work seen nurses punched and hurt over whelmed also seen nurses break down and cry during their shift

management.. no help  their is such a high turn over in staff and they use agency because they can not keep core staff see them keep and lie to pts just to put a hold on them to keep them longer for $$
workplace culture. it is stressful everyone is working in a high stress environment and struggling with Pt care administration  is more concerned with  keeping appearance up 
the hardest part of the job, knowing the pts that need help are not getting it they put in units  overcrowded at times  having adolescents being coed with salutations that are not safe seen pts  sleeping on floors in small  quit room due to they didnt want to give up a pt for $
the most enjoyable part of the job leaving at the end of the day


I started about 6 months ago and it has been rough. A new CEO started at the end of August and he has brought with him a new culture, spirit, and morale to the facility. He has started to replace pieces that have seemed to been ignored for the last couple of years. He’s visible, engaging, and really focused on patients and us at the hospital. He’s what the place has needed. Also as an RN, it’s good to see the new CEO is also an RN. The place already seems better. I am glad I have stayed around to see this change. There is some negative culture that has taken over from the last CEO, but it appears to be changing rapidly. Glad I have stayed and so are quite a few others that have had some struggles over the last few years. It is good to see some of the toxic people are being held accountable by managers. 

Providers are not valued. Administration is forever changing with no real leadership. 3.4 hours of accrued PTO a pay period is TRASH! The only perk as a provider was the flexibility of the schedule. Being able to see your patients and leave. They are working to change this and want to require providers to be in the building 8 hours a day. Rules are not for everyone and only pertain to some. If you don’t have any other options and decide to take the job here I’d recommend continuing to look for another job and getting out as soon as you can. Also DON’T TRUST ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU. Get EVERYTHING IN WRITING. May the odds be forever in your favor because it’s literally like hunger games in this hospital. Every man for themselves.

A typical day is fast paced, with many tasks and personalities. There is a lot of team work and support of one another among the unit staffers. 
Management is approachable and proactive with safety issues.
Yes-sometimes the unit is short staffed. People call in, people go on vacation but for the most part, the units are staffed not only appropriately but even overstaffed sometimes. 
The benefits aren't as good as some I've had. Neither is the pay.
I've had jobs that payed more that I didn't enjoy. (and I'm no longer at)
The core staff are all knowledgeable and welcome new employees.

Improving. New CEO doing the right things. Ratios are improving. Focus on staff, BBQs and celebrating the staff. What a change has been made over the last several weeks to improve the culture of a very demanding and challenging job. Everyone seems to have complaints but no solutions, the new admin team is working hard on those solutions. Some of the bad employees have already left, which is good for a fresh start. It has its challenges, but I’m glad I work here and want to retire here.

I worked at CBH for a short time. I am a pretty well seasoned psych nurse with 10+ years of psych experience. I felt like the orientation process and overall policy and procedure was very disorganized and chaotic. Patients coming in and out were like a revolving door. At times, patient history and previous traumas weren’t taken into consideration for placement. And it appeared that the overall goal was to make more money instead of providing genuine care for the patients. I truly regret my time there and do not wish this place on anyone. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Walking out the front door and not return.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything, no security, 20 patients to each nurse, the nurses station is not enclosed, therefore urses are not protected here. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is toxic. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Handwritten charting with 20 BIRP notes does not allow much engagement with the patients. Did I mention care plans?
