I was hired in the middle of 2013 in an operations role along with roughly 30 others. For the year of 2013, sales missed the marketing targets by roughly 100 million. The thirty head count that was picked up in 2013 was chopped at the beginning of 2014.

While at the functional level people like to have fun while at work, management is unfortunately not competent enough to know how to use their resources to make projects move forward in a timely manner nor is there any clear direction.

There was no indication that the company was in for layoffs until the day that it happened and management gave no indications that this was coming.

During my interview in 2013 I was told that 2013 would be the turnaround year and that things were finally to a point where the company could take a breath and keep things moving forward, in my line my manager was let go as well as the director above him...who all fed me the line during interviewing that "all was fine". At this time Cordis is not stable and I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

It was a company where empowerment was offered to each employee. The company actively pursued to enrich a team effort culture through all levels of command. Not only full tuition was paid for workers enrolled in college/university but also the teachers were brought to the company if enrolment for a particular class was above 5 students so workers do not need to spend time traveling to the educational facility.
Free Lunch and breakfast (of your choice) was provided when there was a need to work on Saturday. 
Every month there was an information meeting where latest advances and company goals were shared with employees and free foods and drinks of all kinds were offered.
All employees have the opportunity of participating in a 401 K where every dollar invested was matched 1 to 1 up to a 6% employee salary contribution.
No doubt all the above mentioned made the company a work place where everyone care for everything as being of his own.

Cordis was an excellent manufacturing of Medical Device company, It  had extraordinary personnel, excellent employee's treatment as well as benefits. I learn a lot of different thing apart of manufacturing, like 6's, Lean Manufacturing culture, Yellow Belt certification and knowledge in Green and Black Belt, JDE program certification and usage, between a lot more that gave me vast knowledge to seek for a  future job.  We made a product that gave me plenty of satisfaction because it saved lifes around the world.  We, as employees, were always heard and can make our on contribution to the company in many ways, as the Employees Ideas program Team, in which I was a member.  I was also a member of another important team, the Recognition Team, that recognized the hard work of employees every month. I can surely said that working at Cordis was a enriched experience, professionally and personally.

One day on the production line was to arrive early, do the cleaning of the area, disinfect, make the configuration of the equipment, check the status of the pending lots and verify the priorities of the day, to begin the tasks. Each work station had its qualities and characteristics, and it had to have been executed to carry out the task just like each of the work stations. The workplace was a moment in which production and delivery were required in the performance of the tasks that caused errors in the process. The hardest part in itself was what was required to perform tasks at the last minute when it could have been prevented. The most successful part in which the product that was made was to save lives and improve the quality of life of patients, in addition to an orderly lifestyle, due to the continuous use of procedures, makes our daily life also follow orders for a desired result.

Cordis was orginially at Johnson & Johnson Company. J&J sold Cordis in 2015 to Cardinal Health, and the company went down hill from there. First they moved us from Fremont to West Milpitas, and most people's commute became an instant nightmare. Plus the Management changed and did a full turn. I was originally a Clinical Research Coordinator when we were under J&J, but when the sale occurred they did not have that job title, so I was thrown into another pot "Scientist II" which was nothing like what I did. My VP and Manager were going to change my description, but the VP went on Maternity leave and the Manager left for another job. I was then put under the Medical Director who had no clue how to manage people, and was unwilling to work with me and not interested in making any changes to my description. I left as soon as the opportunity arose to do so.

• Developed production schedules using Lean tools, based on customer demands.
• Prepare outgoing shipments to customers.
• Monitor work in progress via daily report and stock component inventory accuracy.
• Maintain cycle time reports to measure improvements and perform weekly cycle counts.
• Investigate and resolve component inventory issues in stock room and manufacturing areas.
• Generate Engineering Evaluation Request and supplying needed materials.
• Interaction with Production floor to maintain high level of communication.
• Participate in supporting new product development.
• Communicate purchase order status to customers and follow up on delivery dates.
• Handle customer demands directly to reduce back orders.
• Achieve lead time reduction by setting up an optimally efficient schedule

•	When compounds were test, I will move to the Flushing testing to check for particles inside the product.

A professional can appreciate the diversity in opportunities inside the Johnson and Johnson family of companies. At the location of my employment, we interacted with many of the other companies to develop products using common technology and test methods. 
I appreciate the proactive effort to keep the workforce from stagnating through career planning. 
A typical day started with protocol review and lab work on a team of varied skillset colleagues from operators to physicians to regulators. One will never tire of the opportunities available in this customer-focused organization. I will always treasure the experience.

The work environment is disorganized and there is a lot of bullying and manipulation, it is stressful when you work with people that don't understand how human and work organization help individuals reach their potential

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
stressful and disorganized from the start of the day to the end of the shift

A typical day at work we work with different type quimicos and with microscope doing inspection. We learned a lot of documentation mathematic calculation and we learn how to make decision and learned to be leader. We all opportunity to be team leader organize paper work production schedule and give training and work under presser and have a group of person responsible to work with. I think that there wasn't any hard to do if like your job there not thing hard just do it wright the first time. The part enjoyable is to now that we have been doing product that saved a lot of person lives
