I just left DEX Imaging of the Carolinas. I spent nearly 3 years at this organization. I hold no ill will or vindictiveness, this is simply an honest review of my time there. When I was hired on, I was preached that this was a great organization to work for, provided excellent benefits, prioritized excellent culture, and a great working atmosphere for their employees. This was the case until the branch owner left the business in 2018 and handed it down to the "management" who currently oversee operations. Since that time, the business has taken a substantial step backwards. While sales, and profits seemed to stay steady and even increase, the overall morale and culture of the business disappeared totally. There is NO true leadership at this corporation. They care about sales, profits, and staying within their budget and thats it!!!! Absolutely zero regard for employees. Several people left the business for other opportunities. Several of these positions remain unfilled, and the work these open positions left behind were dispersed among employees without any warning or just compensation. Management convenes in weekly meetings and makes decisions without ANY input from employees whatsoever. I have never worked at a company before this where management routinely makes their employees jobs more difficult. Communication at this company does not exist. Several new plans and procedures were routinely changed/put into place without any notice to employees who are just expected to adjust on the fly regardless of how it effects his/her position. Any warehouse and admin positions at this company are OVERWHELMED with the amount of work they are tasked with, some being asked to do 2 or even 3 jobs at once!!!!! In my time at this company, my workload doubled, if not tripled and I was given a ONE TIME $1.00/hr raise. In conclusion, this company is in a crisis situation, currently heavily understaffed and drowning in the work their management refuses to get out of their offices to assist with. If you value yourself as a human being, value your mental health, and value your time and effort you put into your work DO NOT WORK FOR DEX IMAGING of the CAROLINAS. You will be treated like a  peasant, just another number in their organization, and you deserve so much more than that!!!!!!

Welcome back to high school. This place is loaded with clicks and if you don't fit in you'll be sitting by yourself and ignored. Training is... Well, what training? It's essentially people throwing tips over their shoulder at you as you try to get things done. You're left to guess what to do and most of the time you're going to guess incorrectly because no one has explained how to do anything. Don't you dare even think about calling off sick, having an emergency or even taking a personal call during work time. You'll never hear the end of it. As a new person you'll find yourself swamped with a ton of work, most of which was left by the people who had the job before you and just never bothered to finish it or perhaps they didn't have time, because every time I started a task the person who was supposedly training me would stop me and hand me something else to do, so I never actually finished anything I was given. Micromanaging is huge here; no one trusts you to do your job so every 2 minutes you'll be asked what you're working on and what you're doing just in case you're doing something like not working in some way. They have a nice building and a good location, but there's no direction on how to get tasks done and no way of ensuring that you're able to get them done efficiently.

Dex Imaging is not a bad company but there is a fracture in the way the management of employees is administered. The lack of communication is astounding and leads to issues between employees, and between employees and superiors. This job is easy going and laid back, which made it easy to work, however beyond the ploy of a nice workplace environment, management does not do its job. There are several areas that can use improvement, nevertheless communication is at the forefront, by far. 

Aside from that, its pretty tough in terms of compensation, the company works on an evaluative system which is never employed by managers and supervisors alike. Behind the shroud of profit sharing checks, the hard work you put in amounts to a couple cents in a raise, if you can manage to get the review, which by the way is "supposedly" completed on an annual basis. 

The hardest part about working here is definitely having to deal with people who are "in charge" of certain departments because they do not communicate with one another. This companies Pompano branch would benefit from crew resource management training.

Poor management, constantly restructuring and experiments to test procedure. No real guidelines or protocol, not uniform throughout all areas. Management uninvolved sweeping issues under the rug refusing to address and ignore them. Stress due to lack of training structure and systems functioning properly. Technology that doesn’t work and manual updating everything. Departments taking days to respond -you hit brick walls preventing you from doing your job. Low salary and short staffed increased piling more work on top of work. Broken promises and lies year after year being told about possible opportunities that are not real. Only people in Tampa get promoted and usually favoritism or nepotism.  Quantity is more important than quality, management refuse to read anything you send them and whines that they are bombarded and overwhelmed with work themselves. Meeting that accomplish nothing other than checking boxes. Only thing I missed was  the people in my building. 

This job is rough, while there are perks and good things about it. If you want something structured and organized when it comes to your work day, find something else.This is take advantage of fresh college grads, cause they don't know any better and really don't have any worth yet. They capitalize on that and will take advantage of you. All this is cold call purgatory, with no leads just territories and strict outside sales. Also it on your dime, your car, you gas, and its how much searching you do (and its your own personal phone, no company phone). So once you leave the office its roaming and roaming, even with a plan. We are in the south too so its hot, so make 25+ calls in day and less then 10 percent will even be worth the time. They do have basic healthcare from the company but they don't do anything else no 401k, Nothing. So once you get past all the nasty facts of it, decent management they do care, they do help you and they train every day to try and prepare you but in the end its just not enough to want to stay.

I am a fairly new sales executive at DEX, and the following is a snapshot of a "typical" day: Setting meetings and getting in front of prospects and clients. I spend a lot of time in the community at events and just as much time on the phones, much of which is cold calling. While this is usually a red flag when looking into a company, DEX provides you with a ton of training so that you are knowledgeable and helpful when on the phones. I speak to a ton of people every day and never feel like a telemarketer.

DEX has definitely improved my sales skills with mandatory product and sales training courses. Reps from each manufacturer are assigned to DEX to train on products and sales. They come to headquarters for all new product trainings and sales rep orientations.

This is not a company that you will enjoy working for if you aren't willing to hustle. They expect a lot from their employees but compensate them well for their efforts. I am so happy that I finally found a company that cares so much for their community and employees.

Worked with Dex under a different company that had a contract with them.

Worked downtown which means you have to pay for parking, and it is not properly reimbursed (Dex gives you a $75 reimbursement which is not enough to cover what you pay every month) nor is it covered. You can ask, but you will be ignored and/or told to find other means to get to work. :)

The pay is absolutely not great whatsoever, and when you do finally get a raise; it is simply not great at all.

I loved my coworkers to death (and still do), they are team-oriented and will aid in getting jobs done, but there is a lot of unfair treatment going on. Some are closer to managers which means they get far better treatment than others who aren't. Yes, management has favorites. Thus creating a workplace that is not equal for everyone. This is simply just a job, do not come here if you are looking for a career or any other potential growth OR if you can not afford to come to work. Crazy, right?

My day begins with a map of the days activities. Driving to that day's work area and getting in front of customers via cold calls and appointments set via telephone solicitations. 

     DEX has definitely improved my sales skills with product training classes happening often. The manufacturer helps with training by coming to the dealerships for specific training on new products and sales tools. 

     I am on the road and in the field more often than not with little interaction with other team members.

     DEX is in a highly competitive market. Competitors are fierce and though DEX has the #1 product they are still the new kid on the block struggling to unseat long term relationships with strong competitors. 

     The most enjoyable part of the job is winning a deal. When the whole team comes together to win a prospective customer over and add them to the DEX family of partners.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They provide computer and phones without push back.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They only care about sales and getting sales people money in their pocket at all cost at the end of the month causing great  avoidable stress by not forcing sales to work hard at the beginning of the month to complete deals sooner. Dex also makes it very stressful by not paying a fair wage for nearly every role. There is a ton of turn over at Dex, and senior management does not care as long as expenses are kept low.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A lot of gossip and toxic. They don't care about fixing the issues. There main goal and focus is becoming a billion dollar copier company. PERIOD!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8-5 work, work, and more work with as little as training as they can provide and support as possible.

This company has very nice people to work with and has employee appreciation here and there SOMETIMES, but the management is terrible. They do not take care of the corporate employees (especially pay), they cut profit sharing, have a lack of merit increases and even extend the yearly review way past the year. Working this job will have you struggling paycheck to paycheck while the sales reps and execs are being grossly overpaid with lackluster work while the owners roll into work in their Rolls Royce/Bentley/McLaren. Completely unacceptable. This company needs to wake up with the times and actually pay people a livable wage that INCREASES WITH LOYALTY.
