My experience working at DHR Health was disappointing overall. While the role itself had potential and the work was meaningful on paper, the day-to-day reality was marred by poor management, a toxic work culture, and a lack of respect from leadership and clinical staff.

Favoritism was a major issue — promotions and opportunities were often given to individuals based on personal relationships rather than merit or performance. This created a demoralizing environment for those of us who were dedicated and hardworking but overlooked.

Management lacked transparency and accountability. Communication was often unclear, support from leadership was minimal, and decisions were made without input from the teams who were actually doing the work. When issues were raised, they were either ignored or dismissed entirely.

One of the most challenging aspects of the job was the culture among some of the doctors and higher-level staff. Many treated support staff, including IT, with open disrespect — speaking down to us, disregarding our time, and expecting immediate results regardless of bandwidth or workload. It created a stressful, thankless environment that made it hard to take pride in the work being done.

While I gained experience in healthcare IT, the overall workplace culture made it a difficult and often frustrating place to work. I would not recommend DHR Health to those who value professionalism, fairness, or mutual respect in the workplace.

Oh, and they don’t pay employees for holidays

As a security guard, you will have none because there is a constant lack of personnel to man posts.

Under the security company contracted to DHR, you have no benefits to speak of.

Job security and advancement
Job security is dependent on if there are hours available for each individual. Some people get plenty, others don't,  and some lose hours.

Management
If you're at the bottom, don't expect to be treated with dignity and respect by most of the staff if you're security.

Overall
Initially, I was enthusiastic about working at DHR as a security guard. After a couple of months, my enthusiasm was dead. DHR staff and management have no respect or appreciation for security. The medical staff looks down at us as if we're nothing. I've lost count on how rude or disrespectful they were as they don't acknowledge you. As for the directors, they spend their time hunting guards to see if they're on their phones. A complaint from them means an automatic write up and being sent home(loss of pay for the day). If you are written up twice, that's 2 weeks unpaid suspension. Punishment through pay loss is a theme here. Guards are paid 8.50/hour, yet management and the company are ok with affecting a guards ability to make a living as form of fair discipline. The guard Supervisors are ok and so are the guards, so you'll be among supportive people. There are exceptions to the staff attitude above, but they are few. If you need a job, apply. If you have options, don't.

DHR Radiology management needs significant improvement in handling internal issues and advocating for their department. Management’s primary role is to protect the interests of Radiology, address concerns promptly, and ensure a productive work environment, yet current practices demonstrate a tendency to defer to other departments rather than assert authority when needed. This subservient approach undermines staff confidence and diminishes the department’s effectiveness, sending the message that leadership prioritizes appeasement over accountability. When problems arise, whether operational, staffing-related, or procedural, management must take decisive action rather than allowing issues to persist or escalate due to inaction. Effective leadership involves actively defending your team, setting clear boundaries with other departments, and making decisions that support departmental goals. Without this, the purpose of having management in Radiology is negated, as staff are left unsupported and the department’s performance suffers, ultimately impacting patient care and morale. Easy job just do your work and trust no one 

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is NO best part, maybe the coworkers. Otherwise, very disorganized company and too much micromanagement. Also, you don’t have any paid time holidays and cannot do overtime. What a joke! 

Not to mention, you are cross trained for everything, overworked and the environment is always hostile.

-Pay is super low

Overall, just take a job here if you don’t any other options or as a temporary option in the meantime you apply to other jobs. Trust me! 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Bad, managers are very mean and always stressed. Hence, the environment is always hostile and not a good one to be working in.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Overwhelming, overworked, understaffed.

This Job for the Radiology Dept. was fast paced and really difficult to get any kind of support on training on how to use software systems or how the job itself operates throughout a regular Shift.  At one point, I did ask for support as in office aid And they denied my request and said that the workload was functional for one person when in reality, I really needed it to other hands to help out with all the paperwork paperwork related to my department. 
The workload itself was very stressful for just one person to input in organize on a day-to-day basis. Phones were constantly ringing. People are constantly interrupting you for information, I found a very difficult to complete my task because I kept getting interrupted by staff or patients. 
This company will throw you in there too learn on your own which is unprofessional, they will  Make you feel incompetent for asking for any sort of aid or help in your department.  

A lot of people I have spoke to about this job position, particularly say the same exact thing and they are overwhelmed and thinking twice of staying at DHR or not and if it’s worth the stress and anxiety. 

Working as a coder at DHR has been an incredibly frustrating experience. One of the biggest issues is the difficulty in getting days off approved. Despite having a legitimate need for time off, management consistently denies requests or makes the process unnecessarily complicated.

Even when days off are approved, it’s not truly time off. We are expected to make up the time we missed, which completely defeats the purpose of taking a break in the first place. This leads to increased stress and burnout, as we are constantly trying to catch up on work.

To make matters worse, we are frequently asked to work on our days off. This lack of respect for personal time is demoralizing and makes it feel like we are never truly away from the job. Overall, the poor work-life balance and disregard for employees’ well-being make this a terrible place to work as a coder.

I tried to advance many times while employed at DHR and the jobs were given to friends of management.

● Management
The manager that I worked under had no prior experience in management. She was hired because she was a good friend of the practice administrator. She has no leadership skills and is a friend to everyone at the office instead of being a superior with authority. She is still currently a manager at ENT Institute so if administration reads this please get her management tutorials so she can serve her staff properly.

● Overall
I resigned from my position at DHR and transferred to another corporation where I felt like I was part of a team. DHR needs to hire managers with experience and who are highly qualified.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Highly toxic, unstable work environment by poor leadership, lack of accountability, and unfair performance management. Management displays signs of weak leadership (blame-shifting, inconsistent direction) and poor, subjective performance evaluation, which lead to low morale and high turnover.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The only good thing are the benefits they offer. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
One of the most stressful parts was managing the front desk for multiple doctors at the same time without enough support. When the clinic gets busy, it can be difficult to check patients in and out, answer calls, and assist everyone efficiently when staffing is limited.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment can be challenging at times. There tends to be favoritism depending on which doctor staff members work with, which can lead to uneven workloads and different expectations among employees.

A pretty decent place to work once you get a hang of the layout of the Hospital. Trash never stops so you always have something to do and the pay is really good compared to other places for doing the same job. If you like walking about 10 miles a day this job is for you, definitely a workout. Unfortunately the job is incredibly understaffed and you have to carry the burden of two people typically. Also most of the housekeeping ladies snitch on every little thing so there is no atmosphere of trust. Overall a good place to start off and get paid above the average, but can drain you out quickly.
