Working at DRB has been a mixed experience. On the positive side, the support from direct supervisors has been solid. They’re approachable, helpful, and quick to take over if a call escalates. Most customers are understanding and polite, which isn’t always the case in tech support. The company also puts effort into hiring more people to reduce the load, and that’s been noticeable.

The facilities are surprisingly nice for. The break area is clean and comfortable, and you have access to a free soda fountain, and there’s a decent on-site gym. These benefits aren’t just for upper management, so everyone gets access, which makes you feel a little more valued. Pay is average, but fair for someone starting out or without a degree.

That said, the job definitely comes with challenges. The call volume can get intense and some days you’ll go hours without a real break between calls, which can be draining. While new hires are constantly brought in, the training they get is short and shallow, so they often make avoidable mistakes or pass off simple tasks that could’ve been handled. That puts extra strain on everyone else.

There’s also a sense of instability above the call center. Leadership outside your direct supervisors changes frequently, and it doesn’t inspire much confidence in long-term direction. Culturally, the workplace leans toward a “good old boys” club so if you’re not part of the inner circle, it’s easy to feel overlooked or left out.

Performance monitoring is constant, with regular audits of your calls. Feedback tends to focus on what went wrong more than what went right, which can wear you down over time. And having to work weekends is expected, which may not work for everyone’s schedule.

In short, DRB is a decent place to start your career in tech support, especially if you’re looking for a foot in the door and can handle a fast-paced environment. Just be prepared for a heavy workload, some internal politics, and a few growing pains.

I have worked at DRB Systems for almost 3 years, I started out as a technician and worked on specialty teams. Within the past year the work environment went from what I would describe as the best work culture I've ever been a part of to the worst. Virtually every position now is overworked, given way more responsibilities than one person can handle and employees are even being punished for not having morale or being burned out. I would say that DRB is a nice place to work if your looking for something temporary for up to a year but anything after that your only going to be used and abused and then tossed out like yesterday's trash. Also I would advise to say no to the first offer because they will offer you another dollar extra after that. Which leads to the next problem which is that if you have been there for 3-4 years new hires are probably going to end up making as much as you because starting wages increase but we have almost nothing for annual raises. DRB also does not do raises if you go to ask your supervisor for a raise even if you can justify it, it is well known that asking for a raise will get you nothing. The only way to make more money is to apply to another position and move once a year to get anything from $0.50 - $1.00 an hour raises. Lastly we have had almost a dozen people who have been at the company for years that have either found new jobs or just had to quit due to the stress and of the few people close to retirement most of them got laid off recently.

If you look on the boards you will see some negative reviews from employees who have left the company or were unfortunately let go from their position due to performance. What you don't get to see is the amazing reviews from the employees who work here. DRB does not ask for reviews or incentivize the team to post glowing reviews. That would be unfair. I came into this company at a coordinator level and less than 1 year became a Manager. Our employees work very hard and are given some amazing benefits (compensation, 90% employer-paid health care, 401k company match, 1 month of paid time off, education reimbursement, gym reimbursement and even a company-wide bonus program). DRB has given me the opportunity to get to a level that I never thought possible. Would you like the opportunity to do the same? I know I would!

do not bother here. no matter what "part" of DRB you get into, its a catastrophic debacle pile of uselessness. Inter-departments STRUGGLE to communicate on anything. HR and CEO seem to change every year or so.. proper management does not exist. you are expected to "pick it up and start running" with your new job. there is no job description for a project coordinator. they made up the job one dayand then 2 years later they cancel the job position with zero warning. they make promises that are never meant to be kept. forget about compensation/bonuses -all your work/extra efforts of going "above and beyond" go to the corporate wallets. they will continue to cut the jobs and increase your workloads and not increase your pay. they know what kind of work ethic everyone had during "COVID", so now they are back in that mentality ready to exploit the human workers. 

Unless you are at Pickle Rd, and/ or answer phones, you do not exist.Productive labor employees are steamrolled early and often by middle management in an effort to find someone to sacrifice for their own systemic failures. Unfortunately, a very common show that claims another hard worker, unaware of any wrongdoing(due to the fact that there was none on their part) and the manager continues their rudderless command into the abyss. The lies are the best form of Corporate entertainment. Memo after memo. All designed to mesmerize the reader with tall tales and flights of fancy."The growth we have seen is amazing."  Somehow, the company has over 400 employees.Wait.No.Under 200.Wait.No,maybe less than X ?    It does make for some good old fashioned wholesome head shaking.
 There are plenty of much better places to work folks. Truly. Don't fall for it. The employees here are awesome.The management is terrible even on their best day.

The company is a great new company for people getting their feet wet in the IT realms. If you are an adept learner, you will be able to excel in the first year you are with the company. The problem, is what you do after you excel. 

DRB internally promotes a lot, but will lock you into a position for a year once you accept a new position. The issue is, that these new positions will rarely pay well enough to justify that hold time. If you work in the Knowledge Center, leaving can be very tough. There are many opportunities for promotion within, but all KC jobs pay middling wages. The jobs where real money is made, opportunities are rarely offered in house for. A great job if this is your first experience in IT, but once you have experience, you should be looking elsewhere. 

I enjoyed my work here and liked the team I was a part of. My manager was the best team lead/manager I've ever had in my career and the work was engaging and fulfilling. I enjoyed working with the customers and assisting them with their issues. I was promoted quickly and the pay was good. Overall it was a fantastic place to work, and I would have liked to continue working for DRB and developing my career for many years. But the COO decided to layoff several employees including myself, which has ruined me financially and caused setbacks in my financial goals. 

The layoffs were a cause of upper management believing in a bad product and overinvesting in it, which caused the company to have to make an overcorrection by sacrificing people's jobs. Great place to be if you can survive upper management's poor leadership choices.

This company is very cliquey and plays a lot of office politics. Because recruitment is driven by a lot of recommendations, you'll often run into a group of high school buddies or old coworkers who prop up each other and keep others down. There is a lot of favoritism all around.

if you are applying for an HR or Marketing position you will most likely not be hired if you are a man. If you get a job in support you will not have much room for advancement. 

They have monthly pie days and hand out free food all the time but then will be upset we do not meet health goals.

your managers will talk about how bad it was to work at their previous company but not realize 90% of our management hires are from the same company they hated.

Tech support for 6 different Point of sale systems.  Shifts are long and stressful. Weekend shifts are severely understaffed and always very busy and stressful. Swing shift every week, scheduling is rarely consistent. Sometimes in a 14 day span you will have to work 13 of those days. Job was nice at one time but a series of poor decisions from the old and new CEOs and upper management have made it terrible. 

I love the team I work with. And I really enjoyed my work for the first couple of years. There isn't room for job growth and the pay is low if your a qualified experienced IT. But for starting out with zero experience it was decent. The benefits are the best I have ever seen when you enter the position. Compensation stays at the lower levels while minimal yearly increases increases require extreme work dedication. I would recommend for a beginner but would warn someone with high knowledge and experience to keep looking.
