There is alot of unnecessary hype surrounding this up and coming company. Unfortunately, because i was so desperate to find a job I bought into what many other reviewers and the company's website said. Let me break down the major pros and cons that others may not have told you about so that you're fully informed before you accept the position. 

*Interview process- (pro- speedy) The interview process was very fast and thorough. I applied online one day, had and interview with a recruiter the next day and then 3 more phone interviews that same week. By the beginning of the next week i had an in person interview and then a week later a second in person interview and was offered the position within two days. 

*Offer and acceptance- (con- salary and benefits)  I was told by through the job listing and interviews that the hospital where the position would be located required an individual with a RN nursing or Masters in Social Work degree, however the actual job qualifications through Davita were only a high school diploma. This became important when salary negotiations came into play. Despite RNs and Master of Social Work degrees making $55,000-$60,000 salaries within the local hospital market, Davita would not pay me (an individual with a Masters in Social Work and 10 yrs work experience) any more than $40,000 because they said the position qualifications were only for a high school diploma. Despite multiple discussions, including that the hospital would only accept a RN or MSW they still would only pay the highschool diploma salary. Like i said, i only accepted the offer out of desperation 

* Benefits- (Con- vacation days) benefits are sold as though they're a great package. I worked for a much smaller company previously and was offered much better and more affordable benefits. Davita should be able  to do better for their employees. The benefits package starts with 15 days per year off. These 15 days include all holidays, sick days, personal days, vacation days. When you consider that at least 7 of the 15 days are holidays every other company allows employees,  this leaves you with only 8 days for vacation, personal, and sick days combined. This is terrible for a large company and someone working full-time. The health care options are equally bad. You are offered a few plans to choose from. The being most affordable is the high deductible with health savings account. For a single individuals the cost is $40 per pay or $80 per month and they they contribute $600 to your health savings account per year. However if you start working midyear they prorate the amount coming out to about $50 per month. If you have monthly medications, this doesnt really help. Health insurance kicks in after 3 months of employment however they dont tell you that your health savings account will not have money in it for at least an additional month after that. They do not deposit their portion into the HSA until the 20th day of the month after health insurance kicks in. Also very misleading  to employees

*After Hire: So you've been hired and are excited to be working and have the ability to pay your bills. Beware that you will  also be paying Davita's bills for a few months until you are able to navigate your way through frustrating corporate tape get them to stop taking their bills out of your pay check. You are given a cellphone to use as part of the role and are given the option to use as your personal phone if you pay $12 extra per paycheck. I specifically elected to not use as a personal phone, but they continued to take out money from every paycheck for at least 3 months before resolving and reimbursing me. In addition, any expenses i needed to be reimbursed for (their required training, mileage, etc) accumulated due to their expense policy and was owed several hundred dollars that i was not reimbursed for over 2 months. When i finally got through their red tape to be reimbursed, my checks were sent across the country to a center i did not work at. When i called saying i never received checks, i had to wait an additional month for them to cancel the mis-sent checks and reissue new ones. I am still waiting on one check. A month has gone by since i reported it was never received, still nothing. 

* Goofy practices- Corporate tries to build community by goofy practices such as calling the company a village and the CEO the mayor. The only thing that they got right about their analogy is that Davita really is like a village.  A village where the CEO is king and the employees are the peasants who hope for any scraps that might be thrown their way after their hardwork. The only real pro about this company is the available job position to help people as they are going through dialysis. 

I won't be staying with Davita any longer and I hope this review has helped you to make an informed decision before accepting a position with this company. The only type of individual who may benefit from working here may be a highschool graduate that they can use to pay a lower salary to despite them being unqualified for this position.

I have worked at Davita for nearly ten years. When I started the training program was amazing, but a couple years ago they started a new training program that leaves something to be desired. If you get a great preceptor and learn well with online modules, you might think it’s great; if your preceptor isn’t great or that’s not your learning style, you will not be as prepared as you would have been if they still had the old model that was a hybrid of classroom, in unit, and virtual. That isn’t the only change for the worse I have seen in my time here. Davita culture is certainly unique and I don’t disagree when people say it is a little cult-like, but this wasn’t always a bad thing. While it has always been quirky and a bit cheesy, it always felt like it had good intentions. It truly felt like a community where we were valued as actual people, as were the patients. Every change or new initiative that rolled out we could see how it related to an end goal of doing something good (better patient outcomes, streamlined workflow, more visibility to emergent patient needs). Unfortunately, over the past year or so, it has taken on a much more business-first vibe. Of course it is a business and has to make a profit, but for the last year the new initiatives are rolled out so quickly the staff and patients can’t even learn and adapt to one before the next one kicks in. This leads to confusion, rushing trying to just check off the boxes, and frustration for both patients and staff as they feel they never have a good understanding of what to expect from week to week now. Additionally, these initiatives feel less and less rooted in positive patient outcomes as the main goal and more and more rooted in company profit as the main goal. Labor budget has, of course, always been a focus but is now (at least in my division, not sure if village-wide) non-negotiable. If the social worker or dietician have less than 120 patients they are expected to cover a sister clinic as well, ideally managing 150 patients. That’s one person monitoring, educating, assessing, documenting on, and completing multiple care activities per patient per month on 150 patients, MANY of whom need repeated follow-ups per month. The floor staff are expected to clock out based on census, which is fair in and of itself, but they count census drops as the moment the end treatment button is hit and are not willing to consider that that patient still needs to be rinsed back, disconnected, achieve hemostasis, post vitals, post weight, machine and station cleaned, not to mention bio bins being taken out, labs packaged, etc. If the FA is a nurse or a tech by trade, they are anywhere from strongly encouraged to forced, depending on overall unit census and budget, to count themselves as the mandatory "free teammate" in the days direct patient care staff. This would be alright if they were able to actually fill that role, but with anywhere from 3-6 mandatory teams meetings per day, what it really means is the floor is just short that person, leading to more stress for the staff and more rushed, less attentive care for the patients. The home modality nurses might have it worst of all roles right now. There is a huge focus on every patient being a candidate for home and a constant push to convert them, now allowing super high acuity, high need patients, as well as mandatory education for all new patients (this part is fine) plus routine re-education for ALL established ICHD patients. This push leads to patients who require much longer training with a lot more effort from the nurse, but now their hours have been cut and they are not allowed to go over 32 hours and are expected to cover usually 2-3 clinics in that time. On top of trying to find time for all this educating between training new patients, going on home visits, training LTC nursing staff, and routine clinic visits, these nurses are also on a minimum of three mandatory teams meetings per week, and assigned easily a dozen care activities per nurse per unit per week. It is extremely sad to watch a company that always felt special and like it had a heart take such a drastic turn toward corporate greed. 

In the majority of the clinics in the Atlanta-Metro area Dietitians are not provided with adequate support to achieve clinical outcomes. In DaVita people capable of believing inspiring rhetoric and unable to process it’s disconnect from actual practice are supremely happy "teammates." DaVita's CEO is the highest paid in this category of healthcare companies. He is a handsome, brilliant public relations master, and he has an insatiable appetite for applause. DaVita has learned how to use soaring language, megatrons and constant propaganda to substitute for 401K match, for promotion from within, and most importantly, for staffing dialysis clinics well enough to minimize clinical error and allow nurses/Dietitians/techs/Social Workers to do the patient care that would live up to the core values. DaVita abuses the facility managers to the point that the most competent, patient-centered RNs would never take the job, and when they do, they go back to the floor after a few years, realizing the rhetoric was hollow and they are going to be pounded relentlessly to compromise patient care. To stoke the ego of the CEO, DaVita has begun to recruit regional managers from Ivy-League schools who have no medical background or professional medical ethics--giving Kent Thiry (or KT) the opportunity to pretend he's Steve Jobs mentoring tomorrow's business tycoons. KT has a genius for PR, getting flattering profiles published in newspapers, mobilizing employees to vote for him in various industry polls, getting employees to do charity walks for the PAC DaVita used to oppose healthcare reform. People who thrive in DaVita are those who learn to manipulate the rhetoric, either sincerely or cynically, to conform with the themes of upper management. That ability is prized more highly than hard work, intelligence, commitment, and certainly more than concern for patient care. The rhetoric keeps clinical workers, nurses and technicians, off balance--as if the MBAs are the ones with the most rigorous commitment to high quality medical care, and seduces naive people into thinking DaVita is a benevolent organization so that no unionization is needed. The clinics themselves have a brutal, unforgiving pace for employees and facility managers. Since the recession, DaVita's profits have grown each quarter as it cut back salaries, raises, and bonuses and reduced benefits, especially, ironically, health insurance for employees. When challenged about the lack of 401K matching at company rallies, Mr. Thiry is able to cry actual tears reading a letter from a "teammate" who said he could not afford to save in the 401K and so would miss matching benefits if they were available to others. DaVita isn't any different than any other mega-corp. pushing the limits of legality. It's not about the law, it's about manipulating the law's gray areas to extract the biggest possible payout.Check out the current lawsuit the Vainer Drs have against DaVita. I wonder what happened to the core value of integrity there?
People Services (Human Resources) manager for this area is very conniving and dishonest. His sole purpose is to carry out whatever the clinic/group/regional managers want. He covers up management’s illegal, immoral, and unethical “dirt” and kisses their behinds in order to stay in their good graces. He talks down to employees as if they are beneath him. Avoid him if at all possible. If you must have interaction with him do it via email.

I worked in DaVita IT for more than 4 yrs.  This review covers a period of time overlapping the 2010-2013 timeframe, give or take one year before or after.  Keep in mind that the situation and corporate environment could be different or changed at this time.

DaVita is a great healthcare company with a nice culture; it pays well too.  Benefits are ok, but not 5-star; being a Fortune-500 they could do better.

Co-workers: Called 'Teammates' in Davita, I had the honor to work with some of the best teams I ever worked with, learnt a lot from them, people don't slack in this company, great people, great talent.

Mgmt: Good in general, but as in any large org, pockets of bad Mgmt & deviations from general culture can exist.  An issue I saw is way too frequent re-orgs, high-level IT Mgmt seemed they needed to justify they were doing something by coming up with unnecessary and disruptive re-orgs one or twice per yr.  ..and then gathered everybody that was lucky enough to not get kicked out during the re-org to assure them that their jobs 'are safe'.

Hardest part:  In I.T. you work your 'shoulder' off, frequent long nights, and weekends (everybody understands that "I.T. is like that", and some mgrs used this line sometimes) but NEVER in this company I heard a Mgr. or an HR person say that you could compensate your worked night/weekend by taking a day or two off later on.   If you wanted time off, you had to request PTO and burn your PTO time. That was the general policy.  Of course you need to be available early the next day after a night change to provide support for issues, but after that it was just jump onto next project and keep going. So nobody took time off to offset worked overtime, this was unheard of in DaVita.  After several months of this you end up working hundreds of extra hours of your life that were not paid for, and you will never get back.  I worked in different teams with different managers during my time at the company, so this problem was not isolated to a single manager or a single team.
  But to be entirely fair, in "compensation" of your donated extra hours and hard work, we did get regularly free pizza, or a free lunch or dinner, a spamming thread of kudos email from Mgmt, or the occasional pat in the back.  The only thing missing was a happy face sticker to completely evoke a feeling of 4th-grade school treatment.

The above issue got gradually aggravated during my stay by a virtual freeze on hiring of skilled IT staff (ie. people who do the actual work), on several of the IT lanes.  If anyone left the company (or was let go), others had to assume the load and keep the show on.  More than two years of this can mine any team, this went on for at least the last 4 yrs that I was in the company.
   But I did see frequently during same timeframe that IT management positions were filled with people from outside (I even got to interview my future boss once!).   The consequential issue here is that there were not really many alternatives in this company for an skilled IT technical staff to grow his/her career (get promoted) if they wanted too; obviously, facing a sheer shortage of skilled technical staff, these skilled professionals would not be the first ones to be considered for Mgmt positions, or offered many other options to grow because  then there would be even less resources left to do the real work.

I don't know if this situation continues, my guess is it may take several years for it to improve.  If you want to consider this company as a employer please feel free to go for it, keep an eye open, and best of luck.

I was a dedicated worker going above and beyond to help sister clinics, come in on my days off to disinfect and had a great rapport with all my patients. I gave 8 years of my life to Davita and when I became sick, instead of calling in, I showed up to open..reported my illness per the chain of command only to get worse as the day went  on... I was crying it was so bad. I've worked with the flu twice and impetigo where the medical director sent me home himself. Well no coverage was even attempted. So the next day I'm still ill...and ended up telling them yet again I couldn't  work under those conditions. How could I give adequate patient care if I'm sick as a dog? I found out real quick they would rather work their sick employees to stay in "compliance" instead of offer that adequate patient care to the weak, sick, and old whose immune systems are more susceptible if being exposed. And for what?? Labor hours,the budget..your responsible for human lifes and their well being while being treated yet y'all don't act like their livelihoods mean anything. Who cares if the patients catch a contagious illness, especially if it could have been avoided. That's what they have float pools for, for  instances when your short handed there is a source of backup to stay in compliance allowing the relief and coverage to be utilized to help maintain a healthy clinic without contagious employees coughing up a lung, or blowing snot rockets, vomiting or whatever the case my be. I loved my job and was sad to go...but in reality life happens, sickness happens, kids happen, accidents happen and it would be nice if the paper pusher and number crunchers would acknowledge that with the understanding its not being taken advantage of but the situations are being tended to as responsible adults handle their business.Not every day is going to be cake and lollipops...especially in dialysis. Just stop making your employees feel bad for uncontrollable circumstances...we are all human. Bad days come just like the good days. you cant have 1 without the other. So be empathetic,compassionate and understanding because we are all fighting our own demons, trying to leave it at the door and not allow it to circumnavigate into the workplace but as humans we can't always stop it. Be more open minded, yes I no you have a clinic to run but not everybody eats, sleeps and breaths dialysis. My Gah, i hear those machine alarms in my sleep. and it makes you look like heartless, careless piece of trash for treating  your fellow co-workers like their lives don't matter not to mention disregarding the health of the patients. Not everyone can fake a smile daily and there's bound to be a day where God forbid one cries, frowns, breaks down or gets tired of the unappreciated treatment and walks out like I did (except I was sick). Without the techs, clinics wouldn't exist.They deserve the same kind of respect and appreciation the nurses get.Not every clinic is the same, there are some great clinics with wonderful FA's and RN's that actually work and help...this was just my experience. Hopefully y'all don't experience anything quite as frustrating and hurtful. It felt like all my time invested there wasn't even worth a day to them or the effort to find coverage...and they tossed me aside like garbage..

This company used to be a halfway decent place to work for but over the last few years the RN's and PCT's are incredibly overworked and underpaid as the patients are now being admitted to the clinic in very serious condition because they are being released from the hospitals way too early...it's all about the money after all. So here it is, all the problems (cons) you need to know before making a decision to work for Davita because there aren't many pros: One big problem is often times if an employee calls off sick they have no one to replace that person, so everyone must pick up that person's slack making for an already tough day. Time is very limited on how much time you actually have to start a patients treatment, and it's ridiculous as they do not allow any extra time for the techs to properly tend to patients who say arrive in wheelchairs and require special equipment to help them to their dialysis chair, or say if a patient starts bleeding, or has an accident on the chair., etc. This causes a back up, patients get angry and you will be constantly apologizing. You will be constantly rushed, frustrated and reprimanded as they tend to micromanage the employees (management goes through your charting and tells you what to say). You will barely have time to have a sip of water and if they call a meeting it usually goes on and on and the afternoon break gets missed.  The days are long and grueling and the patient ratio is way too high for both nurses and techs to perform the job properly and to their standards. Also there is no Human Resources on site at any clinic and this is bad as management gets away with whatever they want...you have no one to turn to. Management is located in Denver CO! But the RN's and techs do their best and few mistakes happen as everyone is doing their best just to keep their heads above water. If everyone actually did what Davita expects (and the rules are nit-picking issues and they set you up for failure as they change policy and procedure like they change their underwear) employees would in essence have to work probably 18 hours a day, no joke. So employees are forced to cut corners because their demands simply DO NOT WORK! They change management often and no one is really in charge. The RN's run the clinic and try to manage but they have enough on their plate as is. RN's are expected to be omnipresent...all places at once, and they give you time limits on everything. You will have 12 very ill patients that require close monitoring and in any other healthcare setting would be considered a critical care area that often requires one-on-one nursing these people are so sick. They bombard the nurses with all this extra work that should be performed by a clinical manager but they have a hard time keeping this type of employee. Hours are very long... arrive at 4:30 am and often times you don't leave until after 7pm sometimes later because patients transportation is always late picking them up and the RN and a PCT must stay until they get their ride. It was a huge bone of contention that management took little interest in, which was shocking because they hate paying overtime. I've worked several different Davita's and they are all the same. Lots of nepotism and clicks in management. Just a terrible stressful life sucking place to work. If you care anything about your precious RN license DO  NOT WORK HERE! Consider yourself warned.

I am writing to provide a formal account of my experience and the specific reasons for my departure. While I was initially committed to my role, the environment became unsustainable due to systemic leadership failures, unprofessional conduct, and a lack of essential resources.
​1. Unreasonable Expectations Following Medical Leave
After returning from a two-month medical leave , the expectations placed upon me were unrealistic and contradictory:
​Lack of Re-orientation: Despite being away for two months, I was expected to perform at full capacity immediately. When I expressed that I needed a refresher on certain protocols, my concerns were dismissed.
​The Training Paradox: I was told I needed to remain in training due to "poor time management," yet as soon as the unit was short-staffed, I was pulled from training to work independently.
​Unfair Criticism: Despite being pulled into independent work to help the facility during a shortage, I was still heavily criticized for my performance. It is unreasonable to fast-track a returning employee out of training to fill a hole and then penalize them for not being "up to speed" instantly.
​2. Unprofessional Conduct and Personal Bias
The Facility Administrator (FA) frequently crossed professional boundaries:
​Personal Bias: The FA repeatedly brought up my mother’s employment history and her reasons for leaving. Comments like, "Are you sure you'd like this because I know the drive was hard for your mom," were unprofessional and suggested I was being judged by my family's experience rather than my own.
​Dismissive Feedback: When I attempted to address concerns, I was simply labeled as "negative." There was never a productive follow-up; the label was used to silence my concerns rather than address the root issues.
​Inaccessibility: The FA remained in her office during busy periods. Even as a non-clinical manager, there were many occasions where she could have assisted with basic tasks (cleaning or moving chairs) to support the team, yet she remained removed.
​3. Toxic Work Culture and Communication
The culture among the nursing staff and clinical leadership was dismissive and, at times, hostile:
​Contradictory Support: The Clinical Coordinator explicitly told staff to ask for help, but when I did, the response was: "There is nobody out there that can help you, seriously?"
​Hostility: I frequently encountered "attitude" from nurses when asking for assistance. This "sink or swim" mentality is unsafe for any clinician and created a toxic daily environment.
​4. Clinical Safety and Supply Shortages
Most concerning was the frequent lack of essential medical supplies:
​Resource Management: On multiple occasions, the facility ran out of critical items such as bicarb and saline. Operating without these basic necessities is a major safety risk for patients and places an undue burden on the staff’s professional licenses.
​Conclusion
Between the lack of essential supplies, the unprofessional focus on my family, and the dismissive attitude of leadership toward staff needs, the environment became untenable. I chose to leave to protect my professional integrity and my well-being.

I worked for DaVita as a dietitian. The pay + hours (more flexible than current job) were the main attraction. Not that the hrs are THAT flexible...the recruiter said "you can leave at 2 if you have a dentist appt, work the hrs you need to as you are the respected professional at DaVita". I didn't need that much flexibility, but great, good to know! Well, the recruiter lied...the hrs are a straight 8-8.5hrs w/same start and end time each day. Some clinics the RD gets paid for lunch, other clinics they do not get paid for lunch. Since the dietitian is one of the only positions that does not punch a time clock (along w/Social Worker and FA), the dietitian's time in/out is scrutinized by all of the other positions that DO punch a time clock (RNs, PCA, AA, etc.). I was looking for a position in which I could work 8:30-4:30 most days, 9-5 occasionally for school drop-off, etc. It was not flexible. Hrs were either 7:30-4:30 OR 8-4. No different than my current job and ultimately, was not the reason for me to leave the position. You know that bad feeling you get, deep down, that you question whether you should pay attention to it? Well, pay attention to it! I should have. The feeling started during the completely unprofessional interview process (bashing other employees, gossiping, not checking references, etc). If I had listened to my gut feeling, I would not have worked in a place that. ethically, makes me cringe. DaVita does too many blood draws yet at the same time will not check necessary bloodwork all for the fear of the clinics #'s going in the 'red zone'. And that red zone...be prepared for weekly (at times yelling, screaming) phone calls from corporate that put the RD in the defensive. Perhaps that K is so high because he is a heroine addict just doesn't fly. Out-of-range albumin, PTH, K, Phos, Ca++ are our fault alone. The corporate goals were sickening. The clinical goals just as bad. Pts treated poorly by staff while others obviously favored. Providing med samples all day long when it is the MD who should do so. Staff saying "don't eat for the next 3days (when blood draw is)...then you can eat whatever you want for the next 2wks". Bully-ish attitudes "why are you allowing that patient to eat yogurt!?!?!?". Um, I am not the police. Second, if she is 92yrs old and that is ALL she will eat for lunch, well then she can have the 150mg of phosphorus! How is that 150mg different from the 200mg phos-containing pro bars that DaVita recommends? I love the DaVita recipes...make everything with gallons of non-dairy creamer! YA-those hydrogenated oils are just fine for someone with kidney failure. Oh, that is right...we only care about the kidney, not the heart attack! Oh, that low albumin...eat more and more and more and more protein. No...even more protein! But don't go into detail re: lean protein, healthier options...because again, who cares re: heart. And never mind the MANY other possible reasons for low albumin...seldom considered. That patient looks like he is going to keel over....quick, get him outside, less paperwork if he has a heart attack in the clinic. I quit...happily, comfortably...with a pay cut and a smile on my face.

Davita overall for me, was a great company to work for and advance myself and my career ambitions.  My primary outpatient center was a good location that I would gladly receive treatment at myself or with a loved one.  However, it was very evident that it was not always the case depending upon where your primary center was.  The center I was trained in had a very punitive culture and unjust individuals who would personally threaten you if you challenged their perceived authority in any manner.  And while bad eggs exist in any environment, I know that person continued to work there long after I was leaving and felt it safe to finally speak of my experience to my manager.  I could also regal multiple episodes of individual stories from other centers with horrid experiences ranging from wretched environments, to outright unsafe practices.  

I will say though, that my primary center was among the best I had ever worked at (overall having worked at six centers in my career), and had even heard of in my time there.  As with all things, your direct management often makes or breaks your experience, and mine was exceptional.  

Davita as a company wasn't exactly perfect or great, but was definitely not a bad place to work.  Many times I would notice that new policies and practices were aimed at financial gain as opposed to overall best outcomes.  Toward the end of my time with Davita I definitely noticed a trend more toward profit than patient outcomes.  Again, it all depends upon your management, as my manager would often fight for us and the patients to have better conditions than submit to his higher ups and subject us to poor conditions.

I worked at Davita to put myself through nursing school before I advanced myself to become an ICU RN.  In that, I will have to say that Davita was a good place to work with that goal in mind.  They have many programs to assist in attaining educational goals, and internal advancement as well if that is your intent.  

Compensation and benefits has been, and I fear will continue to be a serious flaw with Davita' for many years to come.  It became known that competition in the area was paying new employees with zero experience at several dollars an hour more than what I was making with five years experience at the time.  To their credit, that was addressed fairly promptly and by the time I left I was making relatively fair salary.  Yet again however, that was in large part due to my managers persistence and willingness to overlook the rules and typical practices in my favor.  Expect about 1-3% annual raise all in all.  Health benefits were nothing to write home about either I'm afraid.  Could have been worse, but could have been much better and affordable.

All in all, I would work for Davita again if I was in a position where I wanted to return to dialysis.  A lot of it comes down simply to the idea that it is what you make of it.

I used to enjoy working for DaVita, and the people I worked with were friendly. However, there is a huge problem that lies with the management and upper management. DaVita is too corporate for its own good and forgets that it is a healthcare company. They are trying to manage it as a business entity and not a healthcare entity, which puts patients at risk and makes employees depressed. There are too many unrealistic responsibilities that DaVita keeps adding to each type of teammate (social worker, dietitian, nurses, etc.), with neither a pay increase nor increased staffing. How am I supposed to deliver quality patient care if I am the only dietitian for 60 patients and also have a ridiculously large amount of behind the scenes work to do to satisfy the corporate side of things, as well as required ongoing training every year, all with only part time hours? The patient to staff member ratio is ridiculously high because DaVita refuses to hire more people nor can they hold on to the people they have. I feel that I am being utilized inefficiently and inappropriately. Management only cares about numbers and doesn’t understand the nature of human behavior. This could be said of all healthcare entities these days, unfortunately, but I feel like DaVita is way more over the top than other places I’ve worked. Unrealistically over-the-top.
So glad I won’t be with DaVita much longer, seeing as I am being forced out with no notice due to them hiring a full time dietitian and thus my position is “no longer supported” as a part time dietitian. Um, what? You hired me for a part time position that was supposed to be a permanent position, NOT a contracted, temporary one. If you’re restructuring the clinic, a little advance notice would have been helpful. Now I will likely be out of a job, despite my 5+ years of dedicated hard work (yes, they will work you to the bone) if I can’t find another facility that will facilitate a part time dietitian with my needed schedule and is not super far away, because let’s face it, I’m not going to waste my time driving all over New York City and put wear and tear on my car for them after the way I have been treated over the course of my time with DaVita. This might be the worst place I’ve ever worked, and I feel like that’s saying something. So be forewarned, DaVita will likely slowly drain the life out of you. If you choose to work for DaVita, always try to keep other opportunities on the back burner/always be looking for other opportunities, as they don’t care about you personally, and will not hesitate to kick you to the curb no matter how much blood, sweat, tears, or time you have invested in their company.
