My day typically starts with a cup of freshly-ground coffee.  Mmmmm!  I then go through faxes to label them and collect ones that pertain to my area.  I then create a triage list of which referrals to focus on first--the more severe cases will need to be seen earlier.  I also review my list of follow-ups--labs or outside records that I've requested, and request them again if I have not received them.  I then start creating charts for the new referrals, ensure we have all of the records the doctors would need, then call/text the patient to schedule.
The workplace culture is one of cooperation and encouragement.  I can send emails and chats to my Clinic Manager and co-workers and receive positive feedback and acceptance of requested help.  It builds trust in the team.
My manager is very supportive and encouraging, and tries to make life easier for all of us while also maintaining a forward motion.  She has an open door and is easy to talk to.  She is sharp and smart, focusing on solutions rather than problems.
The hardest part of my job is staying out of my own way--the referrals are multitudinous and it's sometimes hard to not feel discouraged, or invalidate my skills as not good enough, fast enough . . . enough.
The most enjoyable part of my job is speaking with these new patients and offering them a calm harbor to dock amidst the rough seas.  
I have found that the overall culture of DNA is like this, not just our office.  When the weather is forbidding, they take care of the staff by offering work-from-home, and offering patients televisits.  This is very comforting.  I am deeply appreciative that I have found my port in the storm.

I’ve had the privilege of working in many environments over the years, but none have moved me the way this organization has. From the very beginning, I felt something different here, a sincerity, a compassion, and a commitment to both patients and employees that is truly rare.

There are days I step back, look at the people I work alongside, and feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. We’re doing meaningful work, with people who care deeply, in a place that sees and supports us. That’s not something I take for granted.

While no workplace is without its challenges, what we have here feels incredibly special. The purpose behind our work, the compassion that drives it, and the impact we make in patients’ lives, it all adds up to something truly fulfilling.

I've generally had a positive experience working at this company. The culture is very family-oriented, and there's a genuine sense of camaraderie among teams. I really appreciate the flexibility in work hours when needed—it's clear that work-life balance is valued here (although the employee must make that a priority for themself first). There are also a wide variety of benefits offered, including a great amount of time off and lots of supplemental benefits.

My manager is understanding and empathetic, which makes a big difference, especially when things get busy (which they often do). The workload is consistently full but manageable, and I feel like I’m constantly growing in my role.

One area where I think there’s still room for growth is in communication from upper management. While there’s been an effort in the last couple of years to be more transparent, there are still times when important decisions or changes aren't clearly communicated to the broader team. Additionally, when multiple employees raise similar concerns, those frustrations aren’t always acknowledged or addressed as seriously as they should be.

Overall, I’m happy with my position and the company as a whole. It’s a solid place to work with good people and a supportive environment.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It's a rewarding experience, particularly for those who value a "family-like" culture and a strong focus on patient outcomes.  As one of the largest nephrology practices in the country,  it balances a large-scale clinical impact with a surprisingly close-knit internal community.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As a large practice with dozens of physicians and multiple locations across DFW, DNA presents a significant scope for our IT staff. We currently manage numerous areas of operation and are responsible for protecting multiple networks across the organization.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day is highly structured but punctuated by unexpected technical challenges and patient care support.

My role at DNA can be a little chaotic at times, but it’s truly my favorite place I’ve ever worked. The culture is amazing, and I always feel supported and secure in my role. People here really care about what they do, and it shows in how dedicated everyone is to the company’s mission.

Because employees tend to stay for so long—thanks to the great environment—it can be hard to see a clear path for advancement. That said, DNA does a great job of offering programs and opportunities to help high performers continue to grow.

Since the company is so large and spread across North Texas, I can only speak from my experience working in a corporate role, but from what I’ve seen, it’s a place full of passionate, hardworking people who truly care about their work and each other.

Responsible for the general operations of the accounts receivable department including the custody and maintenance of patient account records & A/R reports, the training and supervision of accounts receivable personnel as well as coordination & training of personnel in regards of billing and collections. Oversees Account Receivable procedures and policies including the efficiency of paper flow and processing of customer service and accounts receivable and collections department. Responsible for computer input, updating information, data integrity, computer summary printouts, and supervision of monthly reports. Also administered the payroll for 40 employees.   Monitored collector’s productivity and efforts. Identify problems on claim denials and find implementation and solutions. Interview applicants and decide on new hires for collections personnel as well as coordination and training process of billing and collections department.

Pros
Dallas Nephrology has the best work culture I’ve experienced in any of my previous jobs. The company truly values its employees and consistently treats us with respect and care. Incentives often come when you least expect them, which makes you feel recognized and appreciated.

One of the highlights is the award system, which allows employees to give each other shout-outs for support, accomplishments, teamwork, and more. Every month, we’re given funds to award to colleagues, which fosters encouragement and positivity across the team.

Another testament to the company’s culture is the loyalty of its employees—many have been here for over 25 years, which speaks volumes about how well this organization supports and values its people.

Not enough great positions to go around which makes it slightly competitive due to limited openings.

Micromanaged. Lost to do things at the last minute. Poor communication. Terrible leadership 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The very direct Patient care staff like nurses are great but anything higher up I think people genuinely dislike their jobs are overworked and underpaid. Very punitive culture. Lots of two faced tattle tell drama among all levels including providers. Very poor leadership. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Literally all over the place. Different every day and changes last minute

Dallas Nephrology Associates strives to encourage teamwork and individual growth to give nephrology patients the best care possible. Though I don't work with patients directly, I feel like a contributor to the company as a whole. Quarterly town hall meetings led by the President and by Human Resources are always helpful in keeping everyone on the same page. My manager is always available and helpful in prioritizing tasks and answering any questions I may have. My team works well together to meet our deadlines. There is support for ongoing training. 

DNA is a local group of nephrologists that truly care about the kidney health of both the patients we serve and our community. I've worked in a related field and known them for over a decade seeing their integrity firsthand. Since coming to DNA almost 3 years ago I've learned that they treat their employees the very same way and have "the culture" I was looking for. We are a busy practice and there are a lot of initiatives going on that can take significant time & effort but they are always strategic and intended to help CKD and Dialysis patients. I'm honored to be a part.
