There are multiple issues with this facility starting with the company itself. The company is driven by money and their bottom line, they do not care for their employees or residents. They constantly cut budgets for staffing, dietary and other departments. They pay the lowest and work you short staffed on purpose. They bring in residents with nursing home needs but expect you to care for them anyway. The executive director has stated how "we are all replaceable", the DON will text you non stop even while off the clock. Nursing staff can degrade and speak to you however. I don't recommend working here or placing loved ones here. Over 10 employees have self terminated this year over the ED, DON and company. 
   As far as the incentives the other commentor left. The free food was soup that our head chef did for us out of her budget. It was kind and thoughtful but it wasnt a "company thing". It's $2 a meal for food per company policy. The gift cards are not always offered and the more you pick up the less you get them. The employee program? Oh, it's a bunch of paper tickets used to replace your gift cards. Basically, you work a shift for 50 tickets and maybe you'll win something at the end of the month. 
    This company is one of the worst I've ever dealt with and I'm happy to be away from it. I could write pages of reasons not to be here but I won't. I will say the nice comments left about Cuyahoga Falls are probably written by the DON and ED. Yeah, they are really like that. Corporate commenting back pretending to care? Don't believe it, corporate was contacted numerous times and nothing was ever done. It's all for show.

I was only with this company for about two months. Administration staff seemed friendly at orientation after that they never spoke again. Low wages especially for STNA. I worked the morning shift, everyday at 3pm for shift change you had to cross your fingers and hope second shift showed up or else they “mandated” us to stay over until they figured something out. Two girls clocked out on break and never came back the short time I was there. At orientation she pretty much let us know that the residents paid so much to live there that what ever they asked help with, even if they could do it on their own we still had to do it for them so basically paid servants.Then there was a huge ordeal with the kitchen crew. The head chef didn’t get along with the aides which made it awkward. A lot of the resident needed more then just assistance. Some were Boyer lifts They have cameras everywhere which isn’t a bad thing but when their constantly trying to catch people on their phones it becomes annoying. Another problem I had was you can not sit down at all. They want you to be on your feet from start to finish it’s against the law to sit down. This place could be a lot better if management actually tried. The food was good. Coworkers like other aides and nurses were nice.

A typical day was unpredictable and often stressful due to poor management and lack of support. While I gained experience working with residents and improving my skills, the biggest issue was leadership. Management, from the ED to the DON to the ADON, was extremely unprofessional. There was clear favoritism, inappropriate behavior, and staff were often talked about or treated poorly instead of being supported. Concerns were not handled confidentially, and attempts to report issues felt pointless because it would get back to management.

The workplace culture felt toxic and uncomfortable, especially for staff who were there to genuinely do their job. The hardest part of the job was dealing with management, not the work itself. The most enjoyable part was building relationships with residents and some coworkers. Unfortunately, the environment created by leadership outweighs the positives, and it ultimately drives good staff away.

I would have given the a zero if there was one. I use to love working at this company but everything went down hill when the decided to change management.  We are always working short, they keep hiring and people keep on quitting,  the Issue is they don’t know how to treat their employees right and you never be appreciated.The funny thing is when decisions are being made  that concerns the employees, they never inform you about anything, and you have to be in their group of circle to get away with everything and I mean everything. I had an incident that happened went and reported it to management which is supposed to be confidential but I guess I was wrong I turn around and believe it or not the so call new DON went told that person everything about  the conversation all because the person in questioning was in her circle. I decided to call corporate, when I say management don’t care they don’t . The person I spoke to acted like she was going to do something about it but that also not happened again if you are in their circle you can get away with anything. But all I know is being health care field is supposed to be professionalism but I guess everything have turn into politics.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with the residents and the FEW coworkers that had the same passion for the job as me.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working with a management team that NEVER held neglectful caregivers accountable for what they did and didn't do. The favoritism of certain caregivers because they had a outside relationship with a member of management. Also coming into work and residents not having clothes to put on because laundry never got done by the second or third shift! Residents just sitting in the dining room for hours without being checked on! 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hostile work environment! Due to the referral program, everyone there was related in some way, so if you had a disagreement with one you had a problem with several other people without knowing! The language barrier, because the majority of the staff was African. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me was, getting my residents up and dressed for breakfast, starting laundry, going through the rooms straightning up, check and change before lunch , and after lunch.

Only from a server perspective and not from the aids or nurses side. In the kitchen the work is easy but the schedule was always posted for the next week on Friday’s for Sunday-Saturday, so there was no way to plan anything. Full time was often 5-6 days (sometimes 7)  a week and weekends were basically always worked. No set schedule at all. I enjoyed working with the residents but the way the schedule was, was impossible to work with. There were also issues within the processes of the kitchen that I tried to address more than once and it wasn’t taken seriously or if it was looking into it never changed. Also a HUGE thing they didn’t accept doctors notes in full and even tho you have one you still get a point. If you call off you’re added to a list to cover for whoever else called off and if you don’t come in you get punished for it. If you ever call off in general it was a HUGE issue because there isn’t enough staff on either side so it pretty much throws off everything and everyone is over worked. It was nice to be able to get quarterly raises but it wasn’t worth the mental drain the place put on me. 

A typical day at Danbury of Mount Vernon was very stressful, due to lack of staff and the amount of residents with high care levels. 
if you weren't already completely drowning in call lights, you'll be drowning in calls and text on the RCARE system from nurses insisting you do something right that second. I learned to be a better aide in this building but not with the support of my supervisors, more from the support of my residents and my few good co-workers whom also lacked appreciation from our supervisors. Although i struggled to communicate with my supervisors due to their lack of care and support, the Excessive Director always tried her best to problem solve; this did not always resolve the problem but it was comforting knowing she was trying. This work place became very toxic as half of the clinical staff was bestfriends with the supervisor, this caused favoritism in the workplace. the most enjoyable part of my job was meeting, caring and learning about my residents, i became befriends with some, a favorite of others and family to most. 

I love it here! The incentives are like no other place. Most coworkers are amazing and care a lot about what we do here but There are aides that work here that make it difficult for others! The ones that have something bad to say are the type of people that are never satisfied. There’s not much more we can ask for in a job! They are understanding, flexible, and try their best to remind us that we are appreciated  The few bad apples usually quit anyways and go make another place miserable. I have nothing bad to say about the way this building is ran. I have never seen management get out on the floor and help like they do here. It can be busy but makes the time go faster. I love it here and plan to stay for a long time. Once the few negative aids are gone this place will be perfect. I love the residents and most of the employees I suggest working here if you really want to be a part of something that makes a difference and really love to care for people! If you don’t like it there please quit so the ones like me who do can have a chance. Love it here

Danbury really cares about their people,  both residents and staff.  This is evident in the resident care and attention to details we provide daily. None of our managers are the type to hide in their offices- everyone is out and about daily.  Little things like all the staff knowing where residents prefer to sit in the dining room,  or staff greeting the regular visitors by name, make our big building feel like a cozy home. 

It's also evident in the little perks we receive as employees- a free meal here, spin the prize wheel for this, find a treat in your mailbox for that.... and perhaps most importantly,  we are thanked on a frequent basis for doing our jobs well.  That may not sound like a big deal,  but at my last job,  that never happened, so it's really nice to hear.   I love that our staff is small enough that we all know each other,  and there's rarely any drama. We have a good team of resident-focused employees.

Do not work for this company.   I accepted the job for a different amount than what I was actually making. I worked for 14 days straight with no appreciation cause there was NO 3rd shift care companion.  I am only supposed to be part time (3 days a week) and yet I worked an extra 7 shifts.  They now do 3rd shift incentives but yet for those 7 extra days I worked I got NOTHING.  The one nurse is very close with management, so close that there are people complaining but nothings being done and everybody is scared to file a formal paper complaint cause whose to say it won’t go missing with how close the nurse and management are.  You are essentially doing 2 jobs in 1 cause they don’t have any housekeeping.  There is no communication between management and staff.   I tried to email corporate all my concerns but of course heard nothing back.   Which should show you the kind of company they are.
