The entire office resigned. Covid surprised and affected every business out there. Corporate's way of dealing with it was pretending it didn't happen. Our jobs became rescheduling all the appointments that were canceled, multiple times. Rather than control the workload and put a pause on incoming requests, we were also expected to schedule new appointments while not knowing when the country would reopen. I was pulled from my administrative duties and not allowed to return to them so when some doctors started seeing patients again, the doctors didn't have any of the forms or medical records needed because I was told not to do that. They only care about putting appointments on the books. Then, when we repeatedly asked for help, we were micromanaged. Rather than help pull records or schedule appointments, upper corporate management basically sat and pointed at the things that needed doing, with no plan of how to get them done. I was told I wasn't performing well because one aspect of my job takes on average 20 minutes to do which means in an 8 hour work day I could complete the task 24 times, mathematically. I was told to complete the task 25 times while doing 3 other tasks. 
My office was amazing and I will vouch and profess admiration for everyone in it. Dane Street does not care about it's workers at all.  On a corporate level, from anywhere in the country, I cannot stress enough that you should run.
If they are allowed a rebuttal, I expect it to say something about this being my shortcomings and how I wasn't able to do the job. This is their culture - come at you to intimidate everyone else to work harder and then replace you with someone else to eat through. May I remind you, my entire office resigned.

As a nurse with firsthand experience, I implore you to heed this warning: steer clear of this company if you value your well-being and professional integrity. From nonexistent communication to questionable practices, this workplace fosters an environment of anxiety and distrust.

The Director's lack of genuine interaction with staff, aside from superficial engagements like fantasy football leagues, speaks volumes about the company's priorities. Unlicensed staff reviewing medical documents underlines a blatant disregard for ethical standards, with management turning a blind eye. Filing a complaint to HR is a waste of time as nothing is done and if something is done they simply tell your supervisor you reported a complaint and then retaliation begins.

Furthermore, the stifling culture of conformity, where dissent is met with retaliation, stifles innovation and growth. Gender biases in senior leadership hinder opportunities for advancement, favoring nepotism over meritocracy.

Quality suffers as unqualified personnel handle critical tasks, jeopardizing both potentially future patient care and professional standards. The company's disregard for experience and expertise in favor of superficial credentials reflects misplaced priorities.

Subpar wages, inadequate benefits, and a glaring absence of work-life balance compound the misery of working here. Coached responses for surveys and a culture of denial expose a systemic rot that puts both employees and clients at risk.
In conclusion, for those seeking fulfilling remote opportunities, look elsewhere. This company is a cautionary tale of everything wrong in the workplace today. Protect your well-being and professional reputation by avoiding this toxic environment.

Dane Street, started in 2008, is based out of Boston.  It's a fairly young company that offers 3 weeks vacations to start, 50 cents on the dollar for profit sharing up to 3%, with vested status after two years, health and dental after the appropriate waiting period, and all the major paid holidays, including the day after Thanksgiving.
DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!  
The NY office started in January 2015.  I replaced the proofreader that was there roughly 6 months, just long enough to get her first weeks vacation, but fired right before this came to pass.  
This is a fairly common pattern among small companies: they offer you impressive benefits that they have no intention of following through with.  There will be some excuse to fire you prior to reaping the benefits that were detailed to you during orientation, and their usual excuse is that you're not doing your job The Dane Street Way.
The first time you hear this, it's a warning that you will be shortly terminated.  The Dane Street Way is not documented anywhere as corporate by-laws, it's just whatever the manager makes up on any given day, and can range from clothing to paper use.   
Ask yourself what small office (my office had 6 full time people - two were managers), that's barely seven years old can afford to give you 3 weeks vacation at the beginning of your employment, including all major holidays, and an impressive profit sharing contribution.  If you say: "That doesn't sound feasible," then you just realized that that's The Dane Street Way!
If you're looking for short term, low paying employment, this is the company for you.

There was an overwhelming amount of work with little support. Expectations were incredibly high, and it is practically impossible to consistently attain goals.

Training is insufficient, and the expectation seems to be to learn on the fly with little to no assistance.

Management was often unavailable to answer questions in a timely manner and resources were not always up to date with the most recent protocols and information.

Workloads were poorly planned and if you do a good job, your reward is increasingly difficult work with no direction and more difficult and complicated accounts, with little guidance or support. There are so many people sending directions and marking things as a priority that by the end of the day, everything is marked as a priority.

The annual raise didn't cover average cost of living increases, let alone reflect performance review ratings .

This job does not care about your mental wellbeing or burnout. Management does not adhere to promised timelines, and will string you along with promises of "just a couple more weeks" without any real change.

This review really does not capture how incredibly stressful and unfulfilling this role is, while working for this company I began having increased anxiety, unable to sleep through the night, constant migraines, and panic attacks. I can't, in good faith, recommend this company to anyone.


Work-life balance
Work-life balance at Dane Street, LLC is non existent. Especially if you are a supervisor or manager. You are expected to be available 24/7.

My pay and benefits at Dane Street, LLC are ok. Benefits were good but never felt I was paid enough for the amount of work and time I dedicated to this place.

Job security and advancement
In terms of job security at Dane Street, LLC, I think there is NO job security. One day you could be their favorite person and the next you are out because you disagreed with their plans.

Management
In general, managers at Dane Street, LLC are not trained properly. Being a manager myself, being thrown in to sink or swim is usually how things go. And then they question your every decision and then if you don’t agree with what upper management wants you are targeted.

Culture
Collaboration with my colleagues at Dane Street, LLC is the only thing that kept me there. The other coworkers are in the same boat as you and they understand the situations.

Overall
My experience working at Dane Street, LLC was a roller coaster. They only like you when you are doing exactly what they want you to do. Even though they don’t know how the day to day business is even working. They only care about the money. They like to manage with fear, intimidation and threatening people with their jobs.

Please do not work here . The pay is not nearly enough to compensate for the burnout , the time , the effort , the precision needed continuously . A typical work day has escalations from within the  system all day , numerous emails , numerous calls , different direction almost everyday it is hard to keep up . Management can’t even keep up which should give you a picture of leadership at this company . They fire you based on direction given by them and upper management doesn’t approve you’re SOL no defending when they are the ones who gave the directive you’ve followed . They complain about missed escalations when management themselves do not respond to inquires by their employees so what should this said employee do ?  At the end of the day this company does not care about you . Everyone is replaceable to them they do not value the work , the sacrifice , the ADHD that it gives you with your attention being pulled a million ways every single day and everything being a priority how can you manage a work day .

Every manager is 25 years old, they have zero idea what management truly means, upon being hired I was promised training, nothing.... never received any type of training, they set unrealistic goals for my territory based on the market. Wouldn’t hear any of my concerns.

Everyone’s a manager but no one makes decisions based on the best needs of the client.

● Overall
Upon being hired I was blinded by being flown to Florida for a same day interview, great salary, only to be dropped high and dry with zero training, it was comparable to speaking a different language. The customer service that worked under me was absolutely horrible. I worked very hard to build clients and have a history of marketing and sales, after several bad experiences with the customer service Staff my clientele was demising... you can only talk your company out of the mud so many times before they see through your story, I lost all faith in what I was selling because it was a lie.  This was a a trying position and I wouldn’t recommend this company unfortunately. I met some amazing people and I am so happy everyone is successful and away from this nightmare.

Working at this company has been one of the most disappointing professional experiences of my career. The environment is micromanaged to an exhausting degree, leaving no room for trust, autonomy, or personal growth. Management shows no regard for employee well-being—personal issues and mental health are dismissed with a cold “that’s life,” as long as the work gets done.

There is little to no opportunity for advancement unless you’re willing to completely overextend yourself. Promotions are less about merit and more about how much of yourself you’re willing to sacrifice for a company that is solely focused on its bottom line.

HR is ineffective and disorganized. They fail to keep track of important matters and offer little in the way of support or resolution. Unfortunately, it often feels like you’re speaking to someone who is unqualified to handle even basic responsibilities.

Even highly skilled professionals, including doctors, are underpaid and undervalued. If you’re looking for a place that respects its employees, invests in development, and upholds basic professionalism—this is not it.


On paper, this company offers great benefits: 3 weeks vacation, health/life/dental, all the major holidays off, even profit sharing with a 50 cent on the dollar match up to 3% of the company profits.  But the trick is that you will never see these benefits because they don't keep employees around long enough for them to get them! Almost all employees are fired just before the six month mark.  All Dane Street managers are hired to multitask.  They can do your job.  If an account is lost, you're fired and the managers move in to do the job, even coming out of state to do so.  And don't be fooled by 3 weeks vacation and outrageous profit sharing incentives.  These benefits cost companies money, and very few companies have this type of financial strength set aside to offer these types of benefits.  A company offering a 401K company contribution plan in with 50 cents on the dollar is usually a gimmick.  Turnover is high with Dane Street because they have no intention of keeping you on to collect your benefits.  If you're looking for a company with growth potential, good salaries and a respectable work environment, look somewhere else!

If you're considering applying to Dane Street don’t waste your time. This place is a perfect example of how not to run a business or treat people. My time here was filled with frustration, burnout, and disbelief at how badly things were managed.
Toxic Leadership: Management is completely incompetent, disorganized, and unprofessional. They lead with fear, not respect. Feedback is ignored unless you're part of the inner circle of favorites.
Zero Respect for Employees: You’re treated like you're disposable. Expect long hours, unrealistic demands, and no recognition for your effort. Mental health? Not their concern.
Unprofessional Environment: Gossip, backstabbing, and micromanagement are part of the daily routine.
High Turnover (for a reason): People are constantly quitting or getting fired without cause. No one stays long, and after working here, you’ll understand why.
This company is a black hole for your time, energy, and career development. You will leave here drained and questioning your sanity. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere—anywhere else is better than this.
