I've had a ton of different jobs in life, but this place is like home to me.  What initially blew me away was one of the owners coming around quite often to check on the little guy and shakes people's hands to let them know that they are appreciated.  Where else can you find that kind of respect?  How can an employee thrive if they do not feel respected, valued and appreciated?  --- Is the work challenging? Absolutely.  
 Are there days that I'm tearing my hair out?  Certainly, but that is indicative of the important work that I'm doing which would be the same anywhere else. 
Although my job is super challenging, I know that I can go all the way to the top if I have a question and that I'll be heard and that they will give me their immediate attention.  One of the beautiful things about this company is that they built it from the ground up.  So they know what it is like to be in the trenches and working hard.  This is not a place for those who do not want to work hard and grow also.  Having worked in a number of different fields in my life, you are going to see that some people want to grow and some people want to remain stagnant and just be there to collect their paycheck in whatever company they work for.  So I'm also impressed with the level of attention DBSI gives to hiring the right candidates.  I've been at enough jobs where I've had to carry the weight of other employees that don't want to work hard as well.  So I greatly appreciate the fact that they place so much effort in finding great candidates because that is going to have a huge impact on the work environment.  So even though some days are harder than others, I would never leave to go anywhere else just based on the fact of how they treat their employees with respect, encourage them to keep growing and continually offer them the tools they need to succeed.  They place a lot of resources back into the company in order to help their people to grow and the company to grow and that can easily be seen by the client testimonies that we receive and the awards that this company has achieved.  Truthfully, if you are just looking to collect a paycheck and not do the work, then this is not the place for you.  But if you are wanting to be respected and treated at a higher caliber, and you are willing to work hard with other hard workers, then this may be the last "job" interview that you ever have just like me.

I have worked for both large corporations and small startups and what I have found is smaller companies take better care of their employees than the larger companies when it comes to work life balance and keeping employees feeling valued and proud of their work, but larger companies often offer quicker advancement and better benefits. There are pros and cons to each side, however I can honestly say that DBSI, Inc is a true diamond in the ruff. They are a company that is locally owned and operated, the owners know each of us and will say hi and ask us how we are doing, and although they are a smaller company they truly value their employees by offering some great benefits (that are even better than some larger companies I have worked for) a work life balance and a culture that is truly astounding to be apart of. I have read in other reviews that it can be hard to get promoted and I can see how that may be true, because most people don't want to leave! To me that is a great problem to have. However you have plenty of ways to expand your skillset and learn new things here. I have not seen a company with as little turnover as this one with an employee base that has so many that have worked here for so long, even 10+ years for some. I can see no cons at this time working for DBSI, I know that through hard work and determination you can really make your own path here. I haven't been here long so I am not worried right now about a promotion to a new role but when that time comes I have solid trust in my management that they will provide the opportunities to expand my skillset and grow within the company. I can not say enough nice things about this company, from the C-Suite to the employees, it truly is a great place to work.

I work hard, my opinion is valued and my voice is heard. My ideas are put into action and become reality. I can choose who I am and what I accomplish here. The only barrier between what I want and what I have, is me. DBSI gives me complete control over my own destiny. I am empowered by my boss, I feel complete support from the management team and I will probably be here for the rest of my life unless DBSI determines a separation. Even if they did for some reason, need to let me go, I would still sing their praises and love this company. I am forever grateful for the opportunities I've been given. The work life balance is great and I have children, which they understand. This purple army is more like a purple family. The care for employees is genuine. Our talent director is warm and relatable, our owner shakes hands every day with all the employees, our CFO is not afraid to get his hands dirty and understands the business, even the day to day which I've not found anywhere else. Our CEO listens to our ideas. Truly and thoughtfully and I have seen so many employees dreams come to life. My peers really make my work day amazing and with the new change of being work from home, our marketing dept has created these really fun weekly events that we can do from zoom meetings, because they care about our well being and our need to stay connected. DBSI is always a step ahead, always thinking about what our clients needs are and we deliver. I can see the impact of my personal contributions and at the end of the day, I feel so good about what we have accomplished together.

The role and company culture were not accurately represented during the interview process, leading to a gap between expectations and reality.
There is frequent turnover, along with unclear role ownership and inconsistent accountability. Responsibilities are often reassigned without clear communication, creating confusion around expectations. 
In some cases, employees are held accountable for duties that were never formally defined as part of their role.
The organizational structure creates inefficiencies, with some roles reporting into departments that are not directly involved in daily operations. Reporting relationships are not always clear, which can complicate communication and decision-making.
Workloads are uneven, and employees are expected to take on additional responsibilities without adequate training, authority, or support. While these are presented as growth opportunities, they are driven by staffing gaps rather than structured development.
The scope of the Service Dispatch Coordinator role extends beyond typical expectations, without corresponding adjustments in compensation or recognition.

I worked for this company under extremely demanding conditions, often putting in 14-hour days while out of town, only to be let go without any meaningful acknowledgment of that effort. While the workload itself was challenging, the bigger issue was the internal culture.

Interactions with office staff frequently felt undermining rather than supportive. There were instances where communication lacked transparency, and it often seemed like discussions were being had behind the scenes in ways that negatively impacted those of us in the field. This created an atmosphere where trust was difficult to build and maintain.

Despite the long hours and personal sacrifices required by the job, there was little recognition or respect shown to employees doing the work. Being dismissed after that level of commitment made it clear that effort and loyalty were not valued.

I hope the company takes a serious look at improving communication, accountability, and how employees are treated across all levels of the organization.


When you look up the meaning of what a dysfunctional company is, DBSI wears the crown with pride!

Poor Communication, Lack of Transparency, Toxic Leadership, Low Morale and Productivity, Extremely High Turnover (someone quits or gets fired at least once a week), Lacks Integrity, Favoritism and Lack of Recognition, Overworked and Stressed Out, No Work/Life balance, No room for growth (unless you’re brown-nosing or know the executives personally).

Everyone in the company knows your personal business, nothing is ever kept confidential. There are so many backstabbing employees working at DBSI… you can’t trust anyone! And you can’t report anything to HR at this company because HR is an absolute joke!

I could go on and on about this company, but the reality is they are aware of the employees concerns and complaints and still choose to do nothing about it. DBSI will continue to lose valuable employees and clients if they continue on this path.


My experience with DBSI has been excellent.  They understand the value of innovation and dedication and they foster creative collaboration, especially in the design and marketing departments.  The company is always pushing the limits of technology and actively changing the fintech experience.  It's an exciting operation to be involved in and people are only limited by their interests and initiative.

It's a fun company that doesn't take itself too seriously.  There are lots of employee fun days and activities to be involved in.  They also understand the importance of family and go out of their way to help, when they can.  If you're driven and willing to put in the work, you'll be recognized and rewarded at DBSI.

Every time the CEO and read a new book the goals and company policy would change. Very family or friend and male oriented not experience or education oriented. 
Got thrown under the bus several times even though I brought errors to my managers attention it became my fault. Liars and inexperience working for family owner. Clueless how to run a business. Advancement opportunities change with every new manager so you go nowhere unless you are a family member or drinking buddy. 
Little to no training. 
Not using advanced software that they own. Inconsistent expectations for people in exact same job duty.

Advice to management:
The company could do a lot more to stand out above the competition in the industries it competes in but the bottom line is all the matters at the end of the day.

They make you feel like a stepchild.  If you aren't part of the family, don't work there.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The stressful part of working for this company is the focus on money.  It has some shady financial principles, and people.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is cult-like.  Everything starts off well and then the true spirit of the company comes out.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fast paced.  Non-stop design meetings.
