The coworkers there are great we have a very friendly environment and accept new people very diverse environment and has been a learning experience. The residents are pretty great sometimes a little impatient but that may just be a generational thing. They are very generous and building connections with them is very rewarding especially when they make it a point to get to know you and memorize your name. Management has changed since the beginning and definitely has improved we are much more organized and to a certain extent listen to servers. The uniforms are a pain because of how strict they are about looking presentable even in places where the residents can’t see. It is very routinely and fairly easy once you get used to it we might have a rush but by the time you look at the clock all the residents have left and you can finally process. You do get food whatever the chefs want to give you you can not bring it home. 

The job I had was easy and not very time consuming on a normal 11-8 shift you work about four and a half hours with the rest being prep and simple small jobs to get ready for the next meal.
One downside is that some of the management was incompetent and had no business telling others how to do their job. The hardest part of the job has to be that some of the residents are going senile and taking their orders and bringing their food can be difficult at times, sometimes they forget what they ordered or what the specials are and it takes patience when dealing with these residents. The best part of the job is also dealing with the residents they almost all really nice and they love to talk with the employees, they are polite and are generally great to work with.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Your training is done by several people and sometimes confusing. The front desk job is hard because there is nothing to do. Staying alert for an 8 hour shift with minimal calls and transfers is difficult. If there were other tasks to maintain alertness, that would have been better.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lots of sitting! Assisting visitors with badges, sorting some mail, taking maintenance calls for residents, transferring incoming calls, answering resident questions.

The only thing that has kept me here all these years is the fact I know everyday that I show up I make a positive difference in the residents lives. No one in upper management could care less about anyone but themselves and their pockets and it’s very sad to see, it wasn’t always like this. I’m fearing that even I can’t stand to be here much longer. Everything has gone very down hill and it seems it’s picking up pace. Every time I try to use my voice to make a difference here I get in trouble and /or not taken seriously. I can definitely say any place would probably seem better than here at this point.

I enjoyed my time here. There was always a nice fun vibe. We were almost always understaffed but that wasn't really a problem. I could take off when I needed, pick up shifts whenever I wanted or switch shift and they paid overtime. However they didn't offer holiday pay which I didn't find out about until almost half my time working there. Management didn't always hold onto their words. The employees all got along pretty well didn't know of any bulling, harassment, or just anyone not getting along we all talked and worked very closely with each other. Even with employees from different parts of the building.

My role is amazing! It’s a mix of recruiting, handling employee inquiries, supporting staff, and ensuring a smooth workflow. I’ve learned a lot about effective communication, problem-solving, and how to maintain a positive work environment. Management is supportive and always open to feedback, which makes the job enjoyable. The workplace culture is collaborative, and everyone works together to create a positive environment

The residents  are wonderful.

The toxic work environment. The Upper management does not have the residents best interests at heart.

Do not currently work there. Most of the people who tried to make a difference have made the decision to leave.

Best company I’ve ever worked for! The staff are all amazing and the residents are lovely! Management and scheduling team are fantastic and everyone in the office are very friendly. The pay is pretty good and the benefits are nice but the management and supervisors are terrible from the director of food services down through the chefs and sous chefs.  Proper staffing is not a serious priority and essential positions will go unfilled for over 6 months.  The culture is highly unprofessional with rampant workplace harassment.  If you really need the pay and benefits you can try and gut it out, otherwise I would explore other more tolerable options.

The Management is not held accountable for mistakes. Blame game to keep heat off themselves. Managers Will act like they have concern for your well being and completely hang you out to dry with no actual care for you or your character.
Check you selfworth and value at the door. If you enjoy rude management who have poor people skills, you will fit right in.
