DCA doesn’t seem to care about anyone. Most of the Dentists are great, but everything is about the bottom line. Pay is horrible & benefits worse. There’s no structured training. Promises are meant to be broken, and in this Company you’re told what you need & want to hear but it never comes to fruition. Most employees of all nature work very hard, and employees with degrees or certifications seem to truly love what they do. It’s possible that other locations are run better, or given more but that’s kinda the point; the Manager at this particular location worked there a very long time and got in the door from family being Regional level. This particular individual obviously did something right to be there so long and eventually promoted to Corporate level but this individual avoided patient issues, employee issues, and talked a good talk. I’ve heard pockets were lined very well due to keeping well under certain budgets but it was excessive! No holiday bonuses are given to anyone below Management. The doctors will do something for whoever they work closely with but the Company doesn’t give every employee a bonus. Raises I’ve heard are non existent or very low even if you score high in all areas you should. Moral is generally low, very busy practice but the place doesn’t run smart. If you don’t negotiate or fight for the salary you really want coming in.....FORGET IT, it’s not happening unless you are lucky enough to get promoted. Communication is the worst from Corporate down to practice level. I was with DCA a long time  before retirement and have seen a lot of changes but unfortunately not for the better. Bottom line, put money into the employees and you’ll see a huge difference in every area possible. Lastly, people leave often and come back which always confused me, but I later found out that’s the only way to get more money. People also come back because nothing has changed majorly with software or technologies so people are comfortable. It’s sad because DCA has potential and in other major cities like Virginia things seem to be different than most other locations. Do your homework before signing that dotted line.

I started at this company several years ago and was almost instantly bullied out of the office. The lead hygienist and lead doctor did not like me, therefore they did everything in their power to get rid of me after I had brought to people's attention how they were stealing patients from other providers. I overheard multiple conversations during my time at that office between the hygienist and her husband, who at the time was the office manager, and the lead doctor, about getting rid of certain people who would not put up with their bullying and harassment. When I was given the option to either essentially be fired or transfer to a different location, I transferred to another office thinking that would be the safest option. Instead, the harassment followed me because the office manager from the office I had just left was then promoted to regional manager. Since his promotion he has done nothing but bully the offices under his management, lie, falsify information, and lead by intimidation. Two offices under his management have completely fallen apart with several long-time employees quitting due to being unable to handle the stress and abuse. He has had multiple complaints filed against him but nothing has been followed through on because the people in charge of him are his family. Thankfully, my office manager at the time had my best interest at heart and did everything in her power to shield me from his abuse. At the end of the day, this company cares nothing for their staff or patients. They care about the bottom line and making money. They took away our 401ks, refuse raises to people who have been here for years yet hire people with no experience at several dollars more an hour than their current employees, and do everything possible to make sure you are constantly struggling and stressed in your office. Your concerns and needs will be blatantly ignored, if not mocked. Do yourself a favor and find another place to work.

When I first started out at this company, it was fine. I loved my office manager and our regional manager at the time was amazing. Both were willing to listen and help out in any areas needed. Our regional manager listened to our concerns and would do her best to personally see that the situation was taken care of as best as possible. Then she was forced to pretty much quit and a new regional manager was promoted from office manager due to family being at corporate level. Since he has taken over our offices have completely fallen apart. Several long-term employees have left the company due to constant bullying and stress. He is more interested in throwing his weight and authority around than actually helping the offices achieve anything. Pretty sure he has even gone so far as to tamper with numbers to make certain offices look better and other offices look bad. He has personal agendas against certain employees and plays favorites with others. He oversees the office that his wife is a hygienist at but then has the nerve to come into offices and accuse others of hiring family members and playing favorites. Don't bother trying to voice your concerns because you will be straight up ignored. This company has taken away our 401ks, refuses to give raises to employees who have been here for years yet hires new people with no experience at several dollars an hour more, and demands people work longer hours with no lunches without willing to compensate for that extra time. If you are in the dental field because you genuinely want to help the patients, this is not the place for you. This company wants their money and that's all. Be warned that they will do the absolute bare minimum to keep up appearances but at the end of the day you are nothing but disposable to them. Corporate dentistry should not at all be allowed and this company is an absolute disgusting place to work. Run.

I worked for DCA for a short period of time but long enough to get a good feel for the company. Their offer and HR recruiter made the company and the position very appealing - free snacks and beverages, company events every month, and she, herself was super nice.  Once started the "little guys" were awesome to work with every one was nice and friendly and overall very hard workers. As far as the management... WARNING! The operations dept has one of the worst supervisors I have worked for - gossiping with her employees about her employees, no appreciation for her staff, micro-manager, no regards to the basic HR standards and the list goes on. Later I found that former employees that previously worked in that dept made complaints to HR but nothing was ever done about it - Open Door policy does not exist with this company. Before I left the CEO released a video that all employees had to watch that [to summarize] stated since the company is growing they will provide more training and education but can not consider better pay for its employees bc of the growth - "its common sense" he stated. Pay increases are nickels and dimes (literally) ranging from 10 cent to 30 cent yearly. 
The benefits are not that great - No Paid time off for 6 months, no paid bereavement, only get paid half a day for jury duty, 401K is "okay", no dental insurance only a dental discount at their locations but you pay for that. Those free snacks and beverages in the break room I mentioned earlier were a great idea but they also dont have snack machines so once the "free" goodies run out there are no other options available - not a big deal but just FYI. I enjoyed the people I worked with but not the people and company I worked FOR.

Biggest problem with this company is they hire young office managers with little clinical experience to "manage" providers with collectively more experience than the managers have in years on earth lol. The turnover in these offices in unacceptable for a company that offers benefits that most private practice dentists can't offer, so why are clinical people not staying? Oh, that's right, those "benefits" are too expensive for most every staff member but the doctors to afford- no one in our office had health insurance due to those outrageous premiums! And no assistance with dental problems- no employee dental days, everyone in our office had at least one tooth bothering them with no time set aside to fix those issues! They slammed us with patients, if you want to make bonus you better work through your (not paid for) lunch hour. The doctors are not your bosses in this environment so beware they have no say over who gets favored & who gets shunned. A couple of excellent workers were treated unfairly by our office manager & I personally watched more than one outstanding provider who our patients loved be gossiped about & thrown under the bus to the corporate team by our "manager" then subsequently forced them to quit. Just because they won't go for drinks after work doesn't make them "not a good fit". So don't be too good because you'll become a target of jealousy  & other people's insecurities. I personally feel this corporation needs to pay its employees more, they're losing great people to other companies willing to offer more money & paid health & dental benefits.

This workplace is extremely disorganized and poorly managed. The position was misrepresented from the start. I was hired as an Orthodontic Patient Treatment Coordinator, yet was regularly expected to function as a front desk representative and handle additional administrative duties with little to no proper training.

Training was inadequate and unprofessional. I received only a few hours of rushed, inconsistent instruction, while other staff were actively watching training videos that I was never given access to. Despite this, management expected strong performance across multiple roles simultaneously. You cannot expect excellence when you fail to train employees correctly.

Management lacks structure, communication, and leadership. Expectations constantly changed, systems were not in place, and accountability was pushed entirely onto employees. On my final day, only one computer was functioning, yet I was still expected to manage several tasks at once—many of which I had never been properly trained to do. When things inevitably fell apart, blame was placed on the employee instead of on the obvious operational failures.

Compensation did not reflect the workload or responsibilities being demanded, and concerns raised were dismissed rather than addressed. Feedback was not constructive, and support was minimal to nonexistent.

If you are looking for clear role expectations, proper onboarding, fair pay, or competent management, this is not the place. High turnover makes sense here. Proceed with caution.


When I was hired, I was told this company had used offshore employees to cut costs and having made that mistake, they would never do it again. Then came a new financial manager and that all went out the window. Increasing amounts of work went to India and that became a flood once Covid-19 hit and they prepared to send us all on furlough. Accuracy of work became an afterthought, both in the shoddy efforts from offshore and because it became more important to never criticize younger employees who just didn't think following protocols or accuracy (even as simple as spellcheck) were reasonable expectations. In the time following the new management, I witnessed over two dozen valuable female employees quit specifically due to this one awkward and often very angry man. 

The company does make an effort to create "fun day" activities but don't seem to give much thought to the logic of them (bowling day fun but driving 40 miles away to swelter in a tiki bar every summer not at all). 

The company is so focused on adding more offices (300 and counting) that fair compensation for employees suffers. After what they termed a "bad year" for profits, we were given 1% raises. Annual "town hall" meetings repeatedly expressed a feeling that employees in the support center do not matter because we did not generate paying patients (though we handled all documentation, billing, and collections for said patients). 

Do not, I repeat, do not apply for a position with this company, especially if you spent decades in the private office sector with proper management training. The extreme and baffling lack of staffing, communication, organization, training, direction, oversight, control and honesty is shocking. 
If you are seeking an administrative position, be prepared to burn the job description because 80% of it is false. However, if you are content to spend your days and not much brain power  answering the telephone 60 times, checking out folks and occasionally presenting treatment to MCD patient's, knock yourself out & don't say I didn't warn you.
The salaries are slightly above average because they are pretty desperate for employees. Turnover is high, as in most practices, DSO or not. The stress level is out of control due to ineffective management and untrained employees who are leaving in droves.  The hygienists are extremely overworked, clinical staff is always shorthanded and the front desk... I've never, in 20 years, seen such an utter disaster. You never know when/if employees or the manager will show up. When they do, everyone hangs out in the kitchen gossiping, eating and complaining in a foreign language.  Even the docs seem miserable. The office is not "run", it just exists because of a prior, long-term patient base. That bit of luck will run out, I assure you.
Know that whatever your position is called, you are a front desk person filling a chair and that's all.

I work at this Hollywood location a couple years ago and this had to be the cringiest and most inappropriate office I have ever worked in. The dentist who hired me there back then was the most inappropriate person I had ever worked for.During the initial interview he kept focusing on my age and kept referencing my race in regards of my age as if it was unusual that I look young at the time for being 30.  Kept saying you look good for your age. While his wife/office manager just stood by and trying to reassure me that this was just his humor almost trying to make him stop talking.I walked away that day feeling a bit embarrassed and confused with how incredibly disgusting this all was. As ridiculous as this all was he still went ahead and hired me . And after getting hired it only got more stressful and very non inclusive office dynamic that made it seem like they had never had a black hygienist or any kind non- Hispanic black person work with them. And if they did it had to be a very long time ago. Aside from that the actual work came down to how fast you can sell products and clean teeth. Had weird dynamics of coworkers who were too catty , cliquy and passive aggressive. Not to mention how inappropriate the employer employee boundaries were, and the  worst of it was that they  had no sense of boundaries in terms of over sharing and gossip.

***IF you want to get paid Several Dollars Less than what the Average Person does for that Position...Then this is a place to go......
***You do your job so well they give you more duties that is not in your job description with the Same Pay....Then this is a place to go.....
***Give you an advancement to a Higher Position WITHOUT a PAY RAISE.... Then this is the place to go.....
****Makes promises of advancement, pay, pay raises then give you the duties but don't pay. All employees are being treated this way...... Then this is the place to go.....
****Forget Yearly Performance Evaluation and looking forward to get a pay increase.... Try a SLAP in the face 15 cents...... Then this is the place to go.....
**** Bottom line IF YOU WANT A JOB TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND HERE ALL THE DIRECTORS AND CORPORATE JUST COMPLAINING ABOUT MAKING MONEY.....WITHOUT GIVING YOU THE RESOURCES AND INVENTORY TO SUCCEED...THEY CARE ABOUT MONEY IN THERE POCKET AND CARE LESS OF THE HARD WORKING, dedicated EMPLOYEES THAT WORK THE BEST TO SUCCEED....... it's all about them and nothing of good honest hardworking employees....We are expendable!!!!  Constantly Letting good hard workers go even ones that's been there for ages.
****Ever heard of Happy Employees and office makes a successful office. take care of the ones that help you.... Then as a business you will succeed.
****No job stability, morals or values....
****BOTTOM LINE THIS COMPANY IS GOING DOWNHILL DUE TO GREED!!!
