Work, work, work- no balance. No initial training. Client happiness is the only thing that is important. No employee support what-so-ever. The internal workflow documents are archaic with only promises of improvement. Support structure is seriously lacking in skill and care. This branch of the company is a graveyard where people go to collect a paycheck and put up with awful leadership and a revolving door of those that see thru the madness and desire more for themselves and their families.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Worked with some great ppl in my 15-16 years I was there. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Work slows down in the summer. You have to go on unemployment.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very friendly! Great atmosphere.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Filling orders & helping where it’s needed.

The first thing you notice is the bright, friendly workplace. The people all seem happy. The benefits are great and you become eligible more quickly than most employers. The pay is competitive. I'm in a corporate support function, but the product/service the company provides is very interesting and unique (producing trade show environments.) The company is stable and really cares about employee relations.

During my 2+ years with Derse I met and worked with an amazing team of co workers and managers. All dedicated to teamwork and creating a successful product for our clients. It's rare to come to work everyday and look forward to your day, the challenges ahead and to know you have such a strong team behind you.

The people and the culture were the best parts.

Deadlines could be stressful. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was great. Overall, the company was relaxed and laid back.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Go in, say hi to everyone, then get to work. There was usually some function to attend as well.

Good ideas are heard and good leaders are followed here.  Internal processes are getting updated via an injection of technology and aim to make Derse a cutting edge one-stop shop for all our clients' trade show program needs.  Derse will soon corner the market with several digital product offerings to go along with our already sterling reputation as a face-to-face marketing company.

My department was called 'the mean girls', people were cut throat, not helpful and very unfriendly.  Some of the account executives were kind, bur overall, it's a horrible place to work and I would not recommend it to anyone. The management for our dept was two-faced and would blame anyone for a mistake and not take the responsibility themselves but they were ultimately responsible for approving everything!  Long hours, low pay.

Each branch operates separately.  You are at the mercy of the the sales team.  No connection with the corporate office.  Very disconnected.  Not sure how some people have managed to stay there so long.  Not enought people on the production level that actually do the work.  Never allowed over time to get work done.

A very poorly managed division. Their main concern is profitability. The only way to advance is to praise and befriend a manager that does not deserve it, but commands it. Substance abuse is prevalent here.

Working at Derse Inc. was wonderful experience and allowed me to explore and grow as a developer. The work culture was friendly and relaxed. However, changes in management in later years appears to be the demise of their Web Application Developer position. Sorry things had to change, but change opened more doors and growth for me.
