I worked as a Biller at DCI and found the experience to be far more challenging than expected due to a lack of structured training and support. New employees were often expected to learn complex billing processes with minimal guidance, and it frequently felt like questions were viewed as inconveniences rather than opportunities for training.

The job itself can be interesting if you enjoy insurance verification, claims research, and medical billing, but the onboarding process made it difficult to succeed. Documentation and training materials were often unclear, and expectations were not always communicated consistently. There were times when I was expected to complete tasks independently before I felt adequately trained on the processes.

Communication and management support varied, but overall I felt there was a lack of mentorship for new hires. Several employees appeared frustrated or overwhelmed, which contributed to a stressful work environment.

I would not recommend working here, especially if you are new to medical billing. The training and onboarding process were extremely lacking, and new employees were expected to handle complex tasks with very little guidance. Questions were often met with frustration rather than support, making it difficult to learn and succeed.
Leadership was one of the biggest issues. Instead of coaching and mentoring new employees, management often seemed impatient and dismissive. Expectations were high, but the training and resources needed to meet those expectations were not provided.
The remote work aspect was convenient, and the job can provide valuable experience, but the lack of support, poor communication, and sink-or-swim culture created an unnecessarily stressful work environment.
I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a supportive place to learn and grow in medical billing.

I learn to followed my instinct when it come to a company that come in and purchase a facility and will half train you but expect top tier performance; only concern is about getting paid for patients getting dialysis treatment. Increasing patient census but not concerned about having adequate staff to cover the unit safely.
Most enjoyable part  of the job ensuring patients taken care of appropriately and most were very appreciative. And the staff worked well together.
Management was expected to function as part of the staff basically doing two jobs but getting paid for one. Spent more time on the unit providing coverage than doing managements duties. Staff allowed to call out without any reprimanding which made if hard for the unit and facility to thrive.
 Micromanagement from Corporate Office Lead members,  Human Resources that follows everyone work hours day to day not taking into consideration the facility must be cleaned, patient stations cleaned and machine disinfected; IT team half fixing things, patients not happy with new tablets because no one informed of program patients can utilize to watch tv during treatments, monitoring everything down to charging each employee out of a monthly fee to print or make copies; Director of Operator basically should be the manager of the entire clinic when acting as if they knows what is best for the unit, staffing needs, and will pacify employee just to hush them up when voicing concerns like anyone sitting lower than them do not know anything, but they are never available to assist with covering the unit when short staffed; higher up making all kinds of decisions but not one time enter the building to work the unit or see how it flows just sitting behind a desk in a office making all kinds of decisions.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I love my co-workers & especially my patients.  Even in high stress times we all come together as a team & help each other out. Our building as a whole is a pretty cohesive unit. You can get days off you need. Our manager is always available if I need her. I can call her at 4am & she will answer her phone. Our patients are great. Raises don't come easy. You are lucky to get your yearly 3%. For the most part, I really like my job & thr people I work with.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
We were short staffed last year for a couple of months but we all came together & helped out as a team. We have times when it is fast paced & hectic, but we do our best & get through those times. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The patients come first & their care is first & foremost. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start of the day is at 5am. We have 10 patients in the morning we have to get on to the machines. Assessing, meds, charting, monitoring, all during their dialysis session. Then we do it all over again at shift change. Some patients get off at the same time so prioritizing is a must. You have to be quick during these times. A lot is going on all at the same time. Second shift is around 830am- 10am. Then sometimes we have a 3rd shift. We work MWF. Last patient of the day is off by 5pm. We normally stay over to stock, catch up with charting, set up for the next day, & we try to pick up stuff we have dropped or spilled on the floor.

I have had the pleasure of watching this company grow and evolve over times. The accounting team and it’s leadership have overcome many challenges that come with rapid growth and has cultivated a positive and professional environment while also keeping the department close-knit ensuring that each individual knows their value and contributions to the company.

This is one of the most diverse and inclusive group of professionals that I have ever had the pleasure of working with and my expertise has been steadily growing the more my role develops. The ownership, led by our CEO and Chief Medical Officer, are very knowledgeable, accessible, and communicative. Our VP of Finance and Controller and also very knowledgeable with very positive open door policies that help the team work together and meet deadlines with much more efficiency than they had been able to in the past due to transitions from a small company towards becoming a large company with many clinics throughout the nation.

I have worked for Dialysis Care Center for over a year and after working for less than stellar companies my experience has been nothing but exceptional.

My decision to join Dialysis Care Center was based on the opportunities that they would provide me in my career. After leaving a fortune 500 company, I've found value in being apart of a smaller rapidly growing company. They offer the opportunity for my voice to be heard encouraging input and for me to build on my current skills/strengths while learning along the way. 

Like any newer company, there will be growing pains and some adjustments but the company continues to put their patients and employees at the heart of everything they do. At no point have I ever felt like just a number. 

Management over the last year has been collaborative, flexible, and encouraging. They ensure a great work-life balance and that my experiences are positive. They hold all employees to a high standard and expect nothing but 100%. You definitely get out what you put in and I appreciate that management and the executive team acknowledges the efforts that are put in.

Upper Management is very involved with the day to day activities but do not have an understanding for how long in depth research, analysis, and even financials take to furnish but the direct managers are  buffers and down to earth. They are experts and very clear with expectations. 
During the pandemic, the department went through a spate of temporary employees who did not function well within the department and left a rash of poor word of mouth that should not be taken to heart.
Our Controller, Accounting Manager, VP of Finance and some of the long term Sr Accounting employees are all very experienced and provide a lot of support to the department that has many challenges as the company grows. One Sr. Accountant is particular has always been especially helpful and accessible providing support and advice which made becoming a part of this company and team feel very natural. 



Work-life balance
Work-life balance at Dialysis Care Center is like any other unit for dialysis.  It is long hours and they don’t care about your family or your health.  So unless you plan to work and never have a emergency or any other problem then they are the right fit for you.

Pay & benefits
My pay and benefits at Dialysis Care Center are good.  They pay higher than any other place I worked in dialysis and the benefits are decent.

Job security and advancement
In terms of job security at Dialysis Care Center, I think I felt secured at first and then new management came in then we were threaten with cutting hours and our jobs.

Management
In general, managers at Dialysis Care Center are bullies.  They don’t care about patient care or employees. It’s a money game and that’s all they care about.

Culture
Collaboration with my colleagues at Dialysis Care Center is good.  I had no issues with the other staff.  We all got along.

Overall
My experience working at Dialysis Care Center was good at first and I loved my job.  That turned into hating to come to work and high anxiety due to bullying and job security.

training/communication terrible.staff do not work as a team and this leads to a very unhappy/toxic environment. Staff Gossip a lot (Managers included).this clinic is very disorganized and lacks structure and consistency.management lacks professionalism. There is only 1 clinic in Ohio so managers usually fly in to do training and it’s not enough. The benefits are not good. They lost 5 employees on less than 3 months. 3 nurses, 1 tech and the social worker. High turnover/high burnout. The nephrologist feel as they can speak to you in any manner. You cannot trust anyone.  not a  environment in which you can thrive. There is no room for upward mobility for social work. The last social workers left in the same manner both quit without notice. This location is not a good place to work. They make it seem that way but it’s a horrible
Environment .


I have worked with Dialysis Care Center for several years. I was mentored by a knowledgeable group of nephrologists who are dedicated to patient care and staff education. This is a unique program structure that demands a high level of commitment from their staff. We combine home health with traditional dialysis and have worked hard to make this culture fit into a work/life balance. Sometimes we succeed and other times we do not.  I have seen a lot of great staff members leave over the years for various reasons, but the team that has been built along the way is cohesive, hard working, and dedicated. We are the voice of our patients and at the end of the day that is what makes my job meaningful no matter how challenging it may be at times.

Management is awful and dismissive. Emails will be ignored and concerns will not be addressed. Our cleaning company doesn't clean the facility, just sweeps the floor, and management decided to keep them despite patient and employee complaints. They forgot to pay two clinics power bill. Attempts were made to contact the person in charge of payment, but they ignored emails and didn't answer the phone. The power was turned off resulting in patients missing treatments. Their performance review for a raise is terrible. You get 1-3% raise contingent on how long you've been there and what your rating is which is based on a 5 star scale. The problem is management (people you've never worked with) tells the clinic managers to change ratings to lower ratings, so regardless how good you are and how hard you work, a 3 star is on par for them which will only get you 1% raise. Patients will go without certain medications because DCC will not allow and extra purchasing, so if there are supply chain issues the patients will suffer.
