For anyone who doesn't mind being forever on site somewhere and dealing with blatant favoritism, this is a great job- installers are forever out of town, regardless of anything they may be told during the interview process. Pay is fair enough for the work, and with OT it adds up quickly and there will be OT. Hotels are paid for and selected by the company, you will share rooms. They'll say this is standard; no other company I have worked for requires shared rooms on travel jobs. Per diem is a similar story- 20$ a day regardless of location. It's fine money if you're somewhere cheap, but more often than not you're on sites in urban areas. If you're fine with fast food and  highway food all the time you're fine. There is a very clear division between 'office' and 'crew' and one that does cause a lot of communications issues. They will not hesitate to keep a crew on site longer than originally briefed, especially if the previous crew didn't complete their step in the process and failed to inform anyone. Lots of OT, especially on job sites, 60+ hour weeks aren't unusual. Organization and prioritization of work is a mess, communication is  very poor.

I have worked here for nearly 9 years now and I can say a lot has changed as the company has grown. The culture here is probably the most notable change. When I started it was strictly business causal with next to no company perks. Now the dress code is very relaxed. We get company supplied breakfast every other Friday and you are more than welcome to bring your dog to the office from time to time. We also are allowed to work from home one day of the week and we are allowed to flex our time if we have an appointment or a personal matter. 

The mindset that almost everyone in the office is to treat each other as family even when it crunch time. For myself personally I can say that this company has offered me a lot in terms of growth and progression in my field. 

The company gives plenty of vacation time and plenty of holiday time as well. Our 401k plan has really nice company match as well. 

Engineering is extremely overworked and always behind on their drawings. Told to tell customers that its a 2 week turnaround on drawings, but takes closer to a month or more. When there are no more excuses as to why the drawings are behind, management asked us to lie about the reason drawings are behind rather than expanding the engineering team. I don't mind bending the truth a bit to keep the peace, but i refused to continue to lie to customers over management worrying about profit over producing results . As most companies who are purchased by larger companies, you are just a number and a peon compared to leadership. They prance around patting themselves on the back while asking more and more of their workers. They share none of the profits and the bonuses are a joke. 

This company says they will give a company phone, tools, and charge card; but they give those to you once you have seniority over those you work with on the job site. It is fun traveling and getting to see sites around the US. They company will claim that communication is the key, but they hardly relay anything. They will claim they give you equipment that you never received. 
On he plus side, they don't care how you drove on the road in a company vehicle. One guy paid for his phone bill while flying down the interstate.

If you don't mind long hours, working on roofs all day, sharing, and traveling every week, then this company is for you.
I'm surprised that these guys are still operating.

This is a very fast paced company looking to grow both nationally and internationally. There are now branches in 5 different states all with unique growth possibilities and job scopes. 

Much work has been done to grow company culture with the implementation of EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) across all locations. They've recognized some short comings that needed work in this area and have applied major focus to a more work life balance.  All in all this is a great place to work and I'm happy to be a part of it!

DFP is a rapidly growing company and each division has a unique culture and character. Every company has ups and downs, but weekly team meetings allow for communication with management. This eliminates many of the typical communication-based problems that could result in disgruntled employees. This model has truly made it feel as though employees have a part in the direction their division, or even the company, is headed. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is working closely with people on your team. I don't think this company shies away from open and honest conversations. 

One thing to mention is that you will always stay extremely busy. Expect  that this may be a typical office setting, but with open doors and people who are extremely willing to help out.

Do not, do not work here if you intend to have a family or spend time with your family. You will be gone almost all week days. Will send you too different states for the whole week. Will pay you $20 a day in per diem regardless if the send you to the heart of New York City or to Miami Florida. Everything with management is done via email. Even if it is a really important matter on the job they will be mad if you call them. If you don’t schedule your day off at least two weeks in advance regardless of situation you will be fired. You cannot grow here they will just hire someone else to take over the new position. Etc etc don’t work here unless you want to live work and make ok ish money poor benefits tho, and walk on tip toes.

Daily task included sanding and grinding metal fixtures, Using forklift and shop machines. Pay is every two weeks. Pretty dull workplace, co workers were hit or miss. Some pretty decent, most were unfriendly. Head engineer was engaged almost exclusively via email. Hardly every on the floor with team members. Shop Managers played favorites and decided who was selected for jobs based on personal friendship rather than skills. The ones who weren't ever picked remain on "shop duty" i.e Sweeping floors, Taking out trash, and refueling fleet vehicles. Save yourself some time and avoid this Mom and Pop company. Too much ignorance and not really a trade that can take you anywhere.

This company used to be a good company to work for. But due to leadership change and the purchase of other companies, they completely shifted from treating people like “family” to treating people as numbers. When sales can’t hit their marks, other departments are punished instead of having the sales team take accountability. They push blame from department to department instead of facing the actual issues at hand and working on them. They boast about work/ life balance and having a good culture but there has been a steady decline in both the five years I worked there. 

A typical day at work is arriving on site in whatever state, checking through your material and seeing that somehow most of it is missing, most of it was fabricated wrong, and you start on-site engineering to make it work. You work hard for the next 8-12 hours to get the job done as quickly as possible to get home to your family, and training procedures are almost entirely thrown out the window. The pay is good and the hotels/airlines are taken care of properly. Most of the time, your managers try to look out for you but the company in general refuses to take steps to properly train and guarantee correct material on-site.
