This company is failing due to a lack of structure and leadership (though they will tell you differently) . Daily and weekly the management structure changes, but the same people are always in charge of the newly labeled department. This is ofteb a last ditch effort of any company struggling to remain relevant or in business. The VP of Operations is a complete joke that could be done away with completely and better suit the day to day Operations. PTO is 80hrs a year for the first 5 years. There is no sick leave. The pay vs the hours worked is abysmal. There is ZERO communication between the corporate office and field operation. There is zero training for any position outside of new hire training (if you can call it that). Every day is organized chaos at best. (Typically all organization breaks down before EOD). No one is appreciated. There are no consequences for lack of productivity and there are no benefits or rewards to excelling. This is the least professionally ran work environment you will ever experience. Written policy and procedure are hard, next to impossible, to find and when you do they are out of date or irrelevant. The is no interdepartmental communication. Patients and hospices abhor the company's customer service making operations' work experiences hectic everyday. The hours are long and the work in often aggravating. There are zero resources to offer assistance aside from "knowing a person that's already faced that problem". There is no transparency. No communication. No trust. No appreciation. Corporate and management expects entry level workers to last an average of 2 years before burnout and staffing is a rotating door, and they Perfectly FINE with that. The job will not infuriate you, the company and the poor leadership from corporate positions will. Look somewhere else if you are looking for an experience that you will enjoy. Abandon all hope ye who enter here.

I have been with the company almost two years.  I have ups and downs, but I always use the down moments as learning/teaching moments and grow through that experience.  Most days I am rewarded with the fact that my team and I become stronger in what we do, and everyone finishes together.  We have a sense of belonging and are family.  

Together we achieve more than we could as individuals and we all know it.  This job will allow you to realize and push yourself to find; your frustration level, emotional level and stress level.  You need those Levels to be high or you can become burned out.  

Overall, money is good, but the knowledge and feeling of helping someone in their time of need makes a difference in the peoples lives we touch.  That alone is what keeps us all coming back to do this work.  

Lastly, inquire within yourself and see if you have the qualities mentioned above, if so… I would apply today.  This is a great field to work in, and a great company to work for, in my opinion.  One last thing I would like to add…
I know the 1 star ratings deduct, but let me say this about that… remember those reviews are giving one side to the story.  There are always 3 sides. The individual leaving a one star, the company side (who doesn’t enflame by responding) and the truth.  If you ask, you will be invited to see and come to the knowledge that what was said… may not be true.  It is just their opinion.

I am going to start it off first by stating for the record work life balance is one sided it’s all work no life. The work you going to do is more like a moving company, grief counselor, installer, customer service, and scheduling all wrap in one burrito Messy and hard to digest. All you deliver is beds, Patient lifts, bari Beds that no matter the obstacle you have to deliver it i once had to deliver a bed over a hundred yards carrying it on my shoulder up 15 steps to the third floor because the apt didn’t have a elevator. The maximum beds the said they would give you is 6/DAY some company’s in this line of business don’t even do 6beds in a week. Depends on how many tech at your warehouse you could be doing on call once a month from Monday to Monday then your regular schedule Monday to Friday the following week so that’s 12 days straight possible once a month explain that to your family at home who won’t get to see you. Most importantly the worst part of the job is you work 4 different shift every week is a different shift wk1- 8am-430pm , wk2- 9am-530pm, wk3- 1030am-7pm, wk4- 1130am-8pm. And that’s just the time you supposed to be off you may work overtime everyday 2 to 6 hours over. They make promises they can’t keep because they keep pick up more and more business work the techs until the broken and worn out with no compassion to you need a couple days off because you body sore they pay here don’t match the job it’s a $21/hr job easily but they want to get it done for $17/hr 

The overall job is rewarding. You get to help families in need, you get a take home van, a gas card for the van, and a cell phone. Pay is decent when you start off but that is about it. When I worked there the manager was great but everyone else up sucked. The ladies in the office try to route you somewhat good but there are points in the job you are being sent from one end of the parish to another end of another parish. The hours stuck alot because they tell you that you have a set schedule but you are working at least 10 hours a day. They will send people home because they worked too many hours so they dont have to pay you overtime. When someone is sent home then your screwed because their workload has been put on you. The company doesnt care about if you have a family or plans. You will work till your last ticket and if you state that you couldn't make contact with the family that lives an hour and a half away, they will make you go there anyway. 

Like the title says, this job is great for a person who's single. Not someone with a family. Unless you love being away from your family and love not knowing when your going to get home from work.

Also, you will have to work on call for a week and only get paid 10 dollars a day for it. During on call you will get hospice nurses who are understanding and alot that dont care about you and tell you to go somewhere even though you can probably fix the issue over the phone.

Overall a growing company with ambition.  Great place for single people or people who like running the roads.  This is a stable and secure job if you put the work in.  Since they are growing things are always changing sometimes for the worse and others for the better.  However, the routing of drivers is aweful because routers are not local.  The oncall and travel pay is in the grey area of not being legal for drivers who take calls on weekends and after hours.  Drivers feel like they are owned by the company when they are on company time meaning that you get off when they allow you to get off or you can quit.  There is no thought of allowing drivers to have set times to leave and back at the warehouse.  If you have a second job you cannot work at DME Express.  The VP when I was there has a poor way of running the company.  His virw was if you didn't like it you could quit and he'd replace you.  He was no leader and still isn't because he manages by fear instead of leading.  Lower level management were good peoole but the VP rubbed off some on them but they are atill connected to the teams locally so not as bad as the VP.  Overall the work was straight forward and not difficult.  You need to be somewhat physically fit to handle some equipment.  I would not recommend this company to anyone other than those who like running the road with no family because you will be married to the job first.

DME Express is a fast growing privately held company with strong leadership.  I've worked at DME Express for 2+ years as a respiratory therapist, and I am so grateful I was hired. This atmosphere is so positive, caring, and so many people have gone out of their way to help me. The company truly cares about your career and where you want to go. 

As soon as the first cases of COVID-19 was reported, DME Express was one of the first companies to implement a mandatory work-from-home policy for several of our departments. Full PPE equipment & supplies were & are still provided by the company for their front line employees. When supplies were critically low in the US, DME Express also supported hospice agencies with PPE equipment and supplies. Our health and safety came first, and I felt so blessed our company had the opportunity & resources to make that decision. 

The RT department works as a team.  Teamwork is Dreamwork!  As a RT, I feel valued, heard, and my work means something when I am at DME Express.

In terms of benefits, it's superior.  Our warehouses are fully stocked with unlimited drinks & snacks and occasionally breakfast or lunch is provided.  Definitely, definitely apply

This is a job for a child out of high school and I still would not recommend. The management does not know their roles as managers and they do not want their workers to feel like family within the company. They show favoritism and if you are not part of this click then you are treated poorly. No regards to family or your kids because they do not have any. They do have racial issues. They are violating hippaa laws by having cameras with audio pointing at work stations to listen to conversations within the work area. Management stated no one is there to make friends but they are friends with certain people in the company. They do not want adults to talk as if you are in school in a classroom instead of grown at work. They are understaffed and expect too much for little appreciation. They don’t pay enough for all of the work they throw on you. You get half trained and thrown out to fend for yourself and they get mad when help is needed. If management is reevaluated then the company may one day become very productive and easy to work for. 

Routers are not local, so they dont know the area and will have you going back and forth all over your coverage area.  Will send 2 drivers to the same area instead of spreading the work out.  Highly inefficient.  Management seems like they are out to get you.  Always trying to catch you doing something wrong even if you have given them no reason to do so.  Cant go to HR with your problems because they are friends with management and will do nothing to fix the problem.  They will just tell your manager that you complained which can create problems for you at work.  Will send you to do an order in another warehouse's coverage area and send the drivers in that area home instead of making them do their own work.  This will cause you to work late while the people who should be working in that area are going home.  Routers dont care how late you work because they are going home at 5 every day and will send you enough work to last until midnight.  Company doesnt care about your personal life and expects you to make them a top priority.   Do yourself a favor and stay away.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Cliques exist and majority of those who work here are not a part of them but the mean girls run the show. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come in fix things the other people in the company mess up on a regular basis regardless of how often they are counseled. Take calls from families which is the highlight. Call families if the deceased which can be very emotionally exhausting and be expected to do the impossible for nurses that call “advocating” for their patients ie they didn’t do what they should have and now expect you to save their butts.

I was let go 1 day before my 90 days was up because I made a mistake on a few accounts was what I was told. However , they needed a scapegoat to get some people off the payroll because they lost a lot of their main hospices and work slowed way down immediately. You have some that make mistakes daily but their ticket count is higher because they have no compassion. They sound like a scripted robot. You are dealing with hospice patients and families. They give you no room for errors. The training was a joke and then you are thrown out on the floor with not enough help or support. The workers were nice and helpful. The management was ridiculous. Glorified babysitters. The pay sucks and they stay on you for something all the time but call it constructive criticism. There is too much coming at you at once and you leave every day mentally exhausted. Wouldn’t recommend unless your desperate.
