This is a excellent company to work for. They are very Efficient, fast, and Provide excellent customer Service. Very professional, opportunities for advancement, and excellent benefits.
Pay raises leave more to be desired max raise is 40 cents a year with no errors, complaints within that year. 
communication in the departments could use a little work. between coworkers and between management, things can be easily misinterpreted. 
as for HIPPA and other practices this company is very compliant and works to keep staff up to date on all policies to help protect patient information.   
working environment is very inviting. all departments seem to get along well. 
the most enjoyable part of working with the job is building the friendships with clients, co-workers and facilities. what i learned working for this company is just be careful how you say things because things can sometimes be misconstrued.

The pros-the majority of the phlebotomists you work with are amazing people

Cons-
Management is horrible. Supervisors talk down to you and make accusations that when are pointed out to be wrong you get no apology.

Covid swabs are processed at local branches where no proper training as been given. I actually watch the phlebotomist label the swabs without wearing gloves

Coworkers not wearing masks

Hiring new employees when there are seasoned professionals still at home on furlough. Not sure if that is legal

Human resources never returns phone calls or email

Text messages at the Crack of dawn telling you to go to a different location when you are not an on-call employee. If you ignore that you get yelled at

Locations closed with no notice and you're expected to become an employee in a different state

Driving 1.5 hours to a job location when you are not a float.

Did I mention poor management? Because they are really bad

Low pay.



Worked here just before the pandemic and left during. Prior to the pandemic, I was in college and I worked mostly part time. I picked up full time towards the end of my schooling. The specimen processing dept was always busy, and there was always work to be done which is a good thing but it could be exhausting going non-stop and working 2nd shift was until 11 or 11:30pm. I wouldn't recommend this position as a career, but it is okay if you are between jobs, trying to gain experience, or going to school. I did feel at the time that this role was severely underpaid given how much technical information you had to know and how many moving parts there were. I appreciated my coworkers and immediate supervisors but felt that anyone beyond those positions did not really care.

Just like any other job, there are pros and cons.  Everyone as a team works really great together.  I've been very fortunate to work with such wonderful people.  One of the greatest issues is how understaffed most departments are.  Seems very difficult to get people in the door and to stay.  Pay wise, tends to be on the low end.  HR was always very difficult to reach and took a very long time to return calls or emails.  Management has its moments.  Some do need to learn how to speak to people in a much more professional manner, and not talk down to them.  Everyone wants to be treated like a person, not be treated as if you are beneath them.  With a couple tweeks here and there, this could be a really great place to work for.

On a typical day I would open the satellite laboratory and make sure all supplies are readily available. The first two hours are usually the busiest. I would register the patients and order the tests that are checked off on the requisition. If the patient was having blood work, I would take them to the drawing room, assess their veins and use the appropriate needle and tubes to receive a specimen. The hardest part of the job is making the patient feel at ease with the procedure. I usually have much success with that. The most enjoyable part of the job is the rapport that you have with the patients. They look forward to having a friendly, trained phlebotomist.

On average, we see 145 patients per day. Some have rolling veins, collapsing veins, very thin or very large veins. I've learned how to properly draw various types of patients in various veins located between the anticubital and hand. Geriatric, pediatric and handicap patients are among the high volume. It's great to work with others who share the same passion and compassion for our patients and our positions.Though iIt can be challenging to have to draw someone who has a great fear of needles and blood, it is more rewarding then anything when you are ale to talk them through the procedure and receive a thank you at the end.

I currently work here and let me tell you, it's not that great. We're always understaffed so everyone is taking on extra work and they try to make people stay past their time in order to finish everything. Also as another reviewer said, it's like high school. If they don't like you, they really nitpick what you do. Some of the people here are also very unprofessional as well. The pay is also low for the work (I make under minimum wage) and honestly, it's not worth it.

I cannot say enough good things about working for East Side Clinical Lab! From the moment I joined, I felt welcomed and valued as part of the team. The leadership truly cares about the employees and goes above and beyond to create a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Patients were wonderful. They treated you like family.

Management not so good. Lies, manipulations and lack of respect for employees. 

Company thought of patients and employees as numbers. No initiative to stay.

Terrible pay with no cost of living increases or increases when minimum wage increased. Benefits were good before the company was purchased by Sonic Healthcare.

If you worked over time Mon to Thurs you were told you had to take a longer lunch so they do not have to pay.

Poor management team, that care more about themselves and tell lies to protect themselves.  Leaving employees to pick up the pieces with fewer and fewer staff
Unattainable benchmarks are set while management is out of touch with reality.  Also its just a matter of time before this company is investigated for medicare fraud.
