ECi is a great place to work if you can manage a high degree of details either without tooling or with not-the-ideal-fit-tooling.  That being the case, each individual employee is left to devise those methods on his/her own, and a LOT of cross-functional expertise is not well leveraged. 

If you're well organized and self-motivated, you can survive and thrive within ECI.  But that is a two-edged sword in that if you're well organized and self-motivated, your job is unlikely to involve new challenges that you must carve out for yourself, but more work to contend with because you're so darn good at what you've been doing.

Improving corporate culture has been a big push in the past few years - with internal systems being implemented to "share the love" with one's peers.  The challenge comes in where you are so embedded in your own department or silo (by design), there's not a lot of cross-team praise being handed out or received.  Occasionally this points system is used as bribery to get assistance from someone else (which I find a bit underhanded, "hey, I'll give you 500 points if you'll do this for me"), rather than just being a good corporate citizen and doing it anyway because it's the right thing to do for the right reason.  

Cross-team communication can be a boondoggle at times.  You can ask, or email someone who reports up another food chain, and they may respond, but that doesn't mean it's a response of any real value.  It often takes someone at a director level or above to become engaged to generate that value.  In other words, it takes the director to say "this is the right thing to do for the right reason."  In many ways, I really wish that aspect of ECI was different.

The ECI Employee Social Committee rocks at what they do to bolster an environment of great people.  From bingo games (with a split pot of cash for the winning employee and a charitable donation), to spring and holiday social events, to monthly birth-aversary treats - these folks are the glue of the ECI family.

Lastly, if you sense a tad bit of sarcasm in this review - that's probably the most wonderful part of ECI - for the most part, you get to be YOU.  I've worked places before where you had to walk, talk and chew gum like everyone else in the organization, and if you didn't, you found yourself one of the first to be let go at layoff time.  You won't find much of that at ECI.  There are a number of quick witted persons who may have missed their calling as comedians.  On those days when you're at your wits end, one of them will cross your path and remind you - it's a job, not life and death, so don't take it so seriously.

My first year started fully remote (covid lockdown) then I had to go into the office as my stats didn't fit the work-from-home quota. Which is near impossible, you'd only reach it if you NEVER socialized with your co-workers. 
This is my first corporate job so I do have to say the environment is very friendly but also very professional. There are a few perverts to keep aware of. Many people do enjoy their jobs and that help makes the work environment go better when having to communicate with different departments. 
The work environment is very high-stress level, especially when you are wanting to work remotely; it is very easy to do though if you want a good-paying job and customers/colleagues that care about you once you start to open up it is a great place to work.
An (overall) typical day consists of 300-500 inbound calls a day, 500-800 emails, creating cases for every single call, transferring cases to the correct queues, and acquiring detail of troubleshooting and product information and lastly transferring customer calls to departments (the last one is highly not encouraged). The meetings are weekly if you are a person who does not like change or doesn't handle change at a fast pace, this department is not for you something changes every week, or even the information given in the meeting is later rescinded and 5 emails will be sent out to correct it. 
Management does express the best intentions of career advancement or provides tips to improve in your choice of career. Benefits are ok though the deductible is rising. 
The hardest part of the job is feeling like you belong, since management has changed the environment of being very welcoming and helpful has diminished. 

This company loves its meetings. There are a lot, although number drops as you go lower on the ladder. ECI strongly and often commends managers, sales, and bottom line successes, but rarely gives kudos to successes in other departments and non-managers. I think there is an art of schmoozing in this company that only management level employees get to exploit as they are the only ones who have the ears of upper management. I guess this might be true for many companies; I’ve just never worked at such a corporate-type company before. 
They are flexible with work/life balance as long as you are on time producing quality work. That’s a very nice deal. The benefits are average to maybe a little above average. The salaries seem to be largely the same. 
So I guess overall I feel completely invisible and sometimes almost forgotten, my work needed but not really appreciated; but I am fairly compensated and I appreciate the work/life balance ... that maybe can be attributed to my invisibility rather than a corporate policy? I don’t know. 
I’m not happy and charged to go to work, but I’m also not unhappy. It’s like a very neutral place to work. It’s a job.

I was terminated for no reason in less than 90 days.  They claimed it was performance.  I was doing great and once a new VP of sales came on board it is manage by fear and intimidation. They claim a supportive culture.  NOT TRUE.  They give quota while your training so totally unattainable.  They are not honest and my direct report did very little to train me.  Still,l I built a solid pipeline.  Average sales cycle is 90-120 days and I closed my first sale in 45.  Had another one to close too.  Something is up because I did nothing wrong and performed very well.  Don't believe this company.  They have no honor or integrity is what I found out.  If you do get hired. Do yourself a favor and keep looking for better employment.  They may back stab you like they did to me for absolutely no reason.  They also have lots of unhappy customers because they have been treated very poorly.

As part of an acquisition I can say it has been a truly awful experience.  There was zero transparency while making changes to policies, procedures and compensation packages. 

The company prides itself on its culture.

You will see a lot of corporate congratulatory emails about various customer rollouts.  And then the inevitable Reply All emails from various department heads to second the motion. 

Job responsibilities include handing out High 5s to your coworkers for a job well done.   Points are given along with the accolades and when they add up you can get yourself a George Forman grill.  Unbelievably, a lot of time and resources is spent on this activity. 

Everything comes off as disingenuous and a bit of a joke.  Unless you are new to the work force and need the experience I would look for a company with a touch more class.  And a bit more seriousness.

If you work directly under the CEO or for HR it doesn't seem like a bad place to work.  However, their business model is to acquire other companies, and then force them to use a few of their softwares as well. Management is overworked to the point they can't train properly and as soon as there is a dip in clients they layoff a lot of workers and then rehire when work picks up again. This causes a lot of stress as well as consultants don't qualify for bonuses. So you travel a ton meanwhile making no more than those who don't travel. The best part of the job was the ability to work remote. At most I would use this to get experience, and continue searching for something else in the meantime. Also, if you interview with them clarify if you're negotiating salary or total compensation as well as what percentage is commission. This was VERY unclear. 

ECi is a great place to work, no doubt about it, the culture, people and the pure support they offer in terms of personal life and issues that may affect day to day life is excellent. 

I would no doubt recommend them to anyone for a place that I looked forward to working at each day.

Improvement could definitely be made in terms of expectations of an employee, though.

Struggling on some aspects of the role and asking for genuine help after trying to figure out the issue alone (because of poor documentation/ training documents) was one of the hiccups I had during my time there and I was criticised for not trying to figure things out individually?

Otherwise Id recommend ECi depending on the role as a lot of people enjoy their work and you can tell that off the bat

ECI is by far the single worst company I've ever worked for.  The pay is the lowest in the industry that I've seen and the work life balance is terrible.  

A significant change was made to the pay structure of my entire department.  My concerns fell on deaf ears.  I never even received an email pretending to care about any of the issues I pointed out.  Non beneficial changes are forced on both the employees as well as customers with no reasons given.  

ECI does a lot to put on the great show of best places to work with plenty of theater but little substance.  

If your company has been acquired or is in the process of being acquired by ECI, start getting your resume together now.  They'll ether make your life so uncomfortable you want to quit or after they've got all they need out of you, they'll lay your entire department off.   Run.

This place is a multi product and multi service provider for an industry. There is allot going on, in many different directions, all focused on the industry. There are excellent corporate assets at our disposal but at the same time it does not feel like the corporate office is leaning on you every day for every decision. Everyone who I have worked and interacted with across the wider organization has been  excellent from individual personality to professional knowledge and support. There are some negative things that could be said, but what company does not have those negatives. We keep it above the line and know that anything not ideal today is just something that we can work on to make better in the future as a team.

The management is extremely poor, the work/life balance is terrible, and there are unnecessary meetings. These are common complaints among all employees at the company.
