This place has extremely high turnover, which makes it challenging to make any progress. When all the talent leaves to go to competitors, there's no advancement in knowledge, no tenured employees, and frequently repeated knowledge sharing. It has also become apparent that leadership doesn't think this is a problem. 

A quote from the CEO at the last All Hands Meeting: "Sometimes, people leaving is a good thing". The excuses for the turnover went from "Well, it's actually lower than the rest of the industry" to "actually, it's not a problem, it's a good thing". Really? I don't know about that, and it certainly conveyed a message to employees that senior leadership does not care about the individual worker. A Freudian slip with disastrous fallout.  

Loved working for EDP, was a fast paced construction/maintenance job. I learned a lot from my old boss about tools and machinery to use. I was always looking forward to the next job because it was more of a project for myself to prove i could create masterpieces in peoples homes for them to enjoy. if it wasn't for hurricane sandy destroying the business i could of learned so much more.

My day to day activities were but not limited to were get my work for the day in the mail, organize the documents into courts, i filed at sacramento court, family law court and yolo court and also sacramento sheriff. I enjoyed everything about this position and the hardest was the miscommunication between my job duties and managment. I learned so much with this position and did an outstanding job.

EDP is great money. 20 an hour is great for this area. especially for not needing any kind of degree/schooling. The constant drama between coworkers. The managers lack of funding to make work conditions better. There is mold growing in certain buildings where dishes/pots are "cleaned"  PTO doesn't exist and if you call out to take care of family you're considered a bad worker who doesn't show up.

Typical day involved laying pipe for new water lines and water meters. Work also included maintenance to existing water utilities and treatment plants. I learned many things during my tenure with EDP including the operation of large equipment and blue print reading. Management and co-workers had their moments but overall were enjoyable people to be around. The hardest part of this job was the loss of work due to weather.

I took care of laptop and desktop equipment break and fix
serviced a few hundred users in a networked environment 
dealt with users everyday with professionalism and with understanding especially with some irate users but i always seemed to put them at ease and take care of them to there satisfaction.

Responsibilities included monitoring 12 Grid Servers and 350+ Novell servers worldwide and contacting on-call personnel and System Administrators regarding down servers, customer support with hardware and software issues using Nexus ticketing system on Grid project issues. Also, provided daily reports to CLS for review.

EDP is a fantastic company and I am blessed to have the privilege of working in the firm.

I have thrived in all aspects of the job. It is a small firm with excellent people. We have seen excellent growth in new business and our ability to penetrate new markets.

It is a sales driven firm. We are selling every day, all day. The product is dynamic, complex and challenging.

Lane

High intensity position. On call 24/7 365. 4 hour response times and 8 hour on site times. Lot of travel all over the country to different sites.
Good group of co workers.
Best part was meeting new people at the sites and being able to educate them on features of the equipment they were not utilizing.
