When I first started the job it was great. I felt like I was getting things done and bonding with the clients.  The clients are great but I noticed a lot of issues with staff and management.  
Some staff would leave garbage laying around on the floors or in clients drawers/medicine box. I would come into a shift and there would be dirty dishes on the stove, garbages packed full, dirty bathrooms...ect. 
They hired one staff member that physically couldn't do anything or was too lazy. The scary thing was that she wouldn't be able to help 9 clients if an earthquake happened or some big event. When this concern was brought up to management it was dismissed because this staff could dial 911 and that she was just a warm body to have at the jobsite. This staff would be left alone overnight most night forn2 hours but at the most was 3 hours alone. 
A lot of staff during covid were not wearing the mandatory ppe like masks or the lab oats they said we had to wear.  When brought up to upper management it was dismissed due to the coats being too hot to wear and that as long as I am following the rules it's okay. I confronted a staff about not wearing ppe and they yelled at me about being on them about the still mandatory ppe.
I know there are some good staff there who are too attached to leave or have been there long enough to make a living wage. 
The clients are so sweet and staff keep leaving because this job does not pay well for the amount of work that is expected. The mileage reimbursement is anywhere under .35 cents depending on the gas prices. 
I wanted this job to work for me. But I found out how much the director makes as well as the administrators, and the fact that they can pay them anywhere from $50k to $100k and not pay their employees a living wage until they have been there for 15+ years is upsetting. 


In November of this year , I will have 17 years working here at Educational Programs.  Over the years i have had the pleasure of meeting many different employees and their families. We have then and always been a company that is considered a family based company. Clients and staff have dinners, BBQ's, bowling events, camping trips, casino trips, birthdays, baby showers and just about anything else we can do where it brings us all together. Our company has a wonderful amount of clients who each and everyone of them have filled our lives in one way or another. Just to be a part of their lives and them be a part of ours is so enjoyable.  Management is always available and is willing to listen and problem solve if necessary or to be a shoulder when tragedy happens your way. Management is very supportive ... Very small amount of red tape and politics as expected within any company. The most enjoyable part of my job over the years has been, new and long lasting relationships that i have with my clients and colleagues working along side them day to day.

management is very unorganized, laid back job, if your looking for something more active , this job is not for you. What I learned was home to take more charge, how to work with mental health and hold my patience with the residents. My coworkers were ok, never had a problem with them. the hardest part of the job was tolerating getting hit almost every day. These clients I worked with were combative, and you would never know whats going to happen that day, but the clients are more pieceful and calmed down now. I enjoyed working with new staff, training and helping my residents learn new things.

The company takes really good care for their clients and for the staff too. Happy staff happy client 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Pay period - waiting for 30 days is a long time

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great in terms of training and orientation. There is room for creativity and growth 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clients daily routine, walks and companionship. Charting is also easy on Therap app

I’ve been a long time employee for over a decade. This company fosters commitment, growth, and a strong sense of community, which has made it incredibly rewarding to stay and grow within the company over the years. They truly value their employees. Most importantly, they have made tremendous impacts in the lives of individuals they support by fostering independence, promoting meaningful communication, and creating opportunities for each person to thrive within their community.

Working for this company was by far my favorite job that I have ever had. The owners are really amazing kind people, they are flexible with schedules and hours. I enjoyed my coworkers and schedule. The clients are also really amazing. I learned a lot from working here and would try to work here again if I moved back to the area.

Management is no good, unless you are in the circle of favoritism and of course their family who also works there. and that is who gets away with everything and gets the decent pay or you're out of luck.

Pay & Benefits are not good..

A good place a family run organization. If The pay and benefits had been better, I would have never left. Some ofthe best work, I have ever done as a social worker.

Loved the company, didn’t love the pay. They like to blame the wrong people but overall it was a good experience. They only pay once a month which sucks but they gave out a lot of bonuses. The people in the office actually values their staff.

It is a joy to work with people with disabilities and encouraging relationships, community integration and independence. The pay is favorable and the ability to be promoted is available
