I HAVE NEVER WORKED IN A HOSPITAL SETTING WHERE NURSES, MGMT, AND ANCILLARY STAFF WALK IN AND OUT OF ISOLATION ROOMS ESP TUBERCULOSIS ROOMS AND LEAVE THE DOORS OPEN. THE ALARMS ARE CONSTANTLY GOING OFF AND ARE IGNORED BY STAFF. THE MEAL TRAYS ARE THE SAME FOR ISOLATION PATIENTS AS THEY ARE FOR CLEAN PATIENTS. THERE ARE NO DISPOSABLE THROW AWAY TRAYS. THE STAFF PLACES CONTAMINATED TRAYS WITH THE CLEAN TRAYS, THEREFORE, THEY ARE ALL CONTAMINATED. THEN, THEY ARE CARRIED TO THE KITCHEN WHERE THE FOOD IS PREPARED. THESE TOXIC GERMS ARE EVERYWHERE; THE CDC SHOULD BE INFORMED ESP NOW SINCE EBOLA IS A RISK. 

ON ANOTHER NOTE THE NURSES ARE BULLIED BY THE CHARGE NURSES WHO SPEAKS TO THEM IN A DEMEANING TONE. THE SADDEST THING I EVER WITNESS, THE NURSES SEEM IMMUNE TO BAD BEHAVIOR AND DO NOT STAND UP FOR THEMSELVES. THE NURSES LACK THE SKILLS NEEDED TO PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF PATIENTS AND MOST OF THE CNAS ARE LAZY. IF YOU ARE A PATIENT FORGET ABOUT BEING TURNED EVERY TWO HOURS IF YOU CAN NOT MOVE ON YOUR OWN YOU ARE SUSCEPTIBLE SORES AND INFECTIONS. IN ADDITION, GET USE TO LYING IN YOUR FLUIDS AND FECES BECAUSE THERE IS A CHANCE YOU WILL NOT GET CLEANED UNTIL THE END OF EVERY SHIFT ( EQUIVALENT 12 HOURS) UNLESS YOU HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER AT THE BEDSIDE. THE PRESENCE OF YOUR FAMILY AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFIES YOU FOR THE QUEEN ELIZABETH TREATMENT PACKAGE. SEE YOUR ( THE PATIENT AND INPUT FROM FAMILY) SATISFACTORY SCORES = HCAPS SCORES=  PERFECT SCORES = FULL REIMBURSEMENT FOR HOSPITALS. IF YOU ARE NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED THE GOVERNMENT DEDUCTS MONEY FROMTHE HOSPITAL. SO IF YOU CAN NOT SPEAK OR WRITE YOU WILL HAVE DOG PRIVILEGES AND HAVE A HIGH PROBABILITY OF ACQUIRING HOSPITAL ASSOCIATED INFECTION AMONG OTHER THINGS...IN LAY TERMS LEAVING THE HOSPITAL IN WORSE CONDITION THAN WHEN YOU CAME IN. GOOD LUCK!

When I interviewed for the position, I got along with the staff so well, that I was still smiling when I left. I looked forward to my first day working there.

Well, things went downhill almost immediately. 

I consider myself very computer savvy, but I had never worked with the software they used at this hospital. It was like trying to learn a whole new language! 

Just imagine if none of the familiar Windows-based icons or commands were available. You have to use function keys for everything; there were no icons. You couldn't hit "ctrl-B" for "bold," you had to hit "shift-F1." You could only use arrow keys to get through data entry fields (instead of using the tab or enter keys). It sounds easy but you try to stop your brain from doing what it has done for 25 years!

Instead of letting me concentrate on one thing at a time, the supervisor immersed me in everything all at once, so I couldn't remember hardly anything from one day to the next. 

The supervisor thought I should have been an expert by the end of the first week. Since I wasn't, they lost faith in me. I was considered a lost cause because I "wasn't picking up on things quickly enough." I was breaking down in tears at work. I ended up quitting in less than a month.

The funny thing is, I use the same crazy program at the job I have now. It did take me awhile to learn, but now I *AM* an expert. If they would have given me a chance, I would have succeeded at the job. 

I see ads all the time for my former position, so it's obvious they either can't find someone to take the job, or people quit right away.

I joined the Welcome Baby Program at Emanate Health after leaving an extremely toxic work environment at my previous employment. I was pleasantly surprised, and still to this day, shocked at how welcoming the staff was. This group of hardworking individuals at the Welcome Baby Program is truly a team and a work family. I enjoyed the work flow and day-to-day in the job- it is a slower pace than bedside nursing. I was able to share my opinions on matters and felt heard in staff meetings. Management was very supporting and personable in my experience. Our clinical supervisor was on leave most of my time there, but upper management/program director stepped in and made sure each employee felt supported through the changes in staffing. I've never experienced a workplace where you get to know management on a personal level, but here at the Welcome Baby program management is present and interacts with staff daily. I am a full-time grad student pursuing my MSN and ultimately I had to step away from this position to focus on school only. I have nothing but amazing things to say about my experience working for Emanate Health Welcome Baby Program. If I had to name one con it would be not receiving benefits as a part-time employee due to the number of hours worked per week; as a bedside RN part-time employees receive benefits, but in this position you do not. The best part of this job was by far the people and the work family vibe. 

Let me just start off with, it’s not a bad place to work at, just that the management makes it unbearable to enjoy working there. You are over worked at times, lots of micro managing, doesn’t seem like you can move up in management. They have SOME shift leads and supervisors that don’t really understand how to work their roll right. At times it can be overwhelming if you are not prepared ahead, which seems to be the culture in the kitchen. (Say your off for a few days and come back to work your position they do no leave anything prep to make the day easier and smoother for you). They seem to think that it’s ok to overwork yourself by scrambling to make things come out on time for the customers. I am not on here to shame Emanate Health for their work environment/ culture. I am putting my individual experience while working their. It’s a great employer with some Good benefits, and work experience. Is it somewhere where you can grow..???? Maybe not. Also I feel you cant really have a work/ life balance. Since every week your schedule MIGHT change, you can’t really plan to do anything with family.

I came in with no industry experience but I knew I was more than capable to do the job plus more, and they saw my potential.

At previous jobs everyday I woke up it just felt dreadful to have to get ready for such a cruddy work environment with little compensation.  At Emanate, I wake up energized and excited work with everyone.  Nothing but positive vibes and encouragement to help you succeed.  If there's anything you don't understand in any department, everyone is willing to help teach you regardless of position or title.

If you want to be happy about going to work and be compensated for what you're worth, then Emanate is definitely the place to be.

Was hired for Part time graveyard shift but was trained on the day shift.  Fast paced environment which I do enjoy as my patients are my top priority.  The people that trained me have been employed there for nearly 20 years so I imagine that they have trained a fair number of people. They complained to my manager needlessly about my work performance becoming angry directly to me in front of patients.    It proved to be slow, tedious process to distribute the Meds in my opinion.  The computer was old and outdated as well. I have been in my my profession for over 10 years and have trained people myself.   Patience is required to train employees- not making the job more stressful than it already is.  No wonder people do not stay for long term.  I found a full time job that will suit my needs. I will say that the DON is a consummate professional as well as most of the other staff.

Due to my per diem status, I may work in the acute setting one day and with outpatient services the next. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and provide a light-hearted yet professional environment. I have learned many valuable tools and thought processes working in the different environments and from the different physical therapists. Management, as well as my coworkers, are a pleasure to work along side. The hardest part of my job is dealing with the extremely difficult cases of patients who no longer can benefit from physical therapy services due to end of life care or inability to perform out of bed activities due to health concerns. The most enjoyable part of my job is the dealings with different patients in a variety of settings and seeing their progress from the hospital bed to the outpatient setting.

Performed physical assessments, administered medications / IV fluids, titrate drips
Provided total care to 1-2 post operative surgical patients; this included CABG 
Monitored intake and outputs, inserted Foley catheters, Nasogastric feeding tubes and   Hemodynamic monitoring
Monitored lab and test results, updated and/or notified physicians of clinical changes
 House supervisor, monitor ER beds, schedule emergency surgeries during the night.
Supervised all staff during assigned shifts; including responsibilities of coordinating and maintaining quality for patient care
Accumulate administrative decisions, to include notifying the Director of Nursing of any unusual occurrences and provide appropriate problem solving to any staff by utilizing the nursing process to resolve issues.

My experience there was an unforgettable experience.... the ladies there were very friendly.... the office was very organized. my only issue with this office is the MAJOR CONTROL!! that was placed and warranted by their acting director..... it was so intense that I literally had stress within my 2nd week of working there..... and the ladies were not very happy with the controlling part but felt that they had to take it because they needed their jobs. 

Sadly in all my years of working in a medical staff office I have NEVER felt micro managed like I did there. it was a beautiful environement yet a pressured department. 

NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO WORK LIKE THAT.

God removed me before I could remove my self because like the ladies I needed my job.

Began as a Clinical Care Extender (CCE) volunteer and worked myself up to a leadership position as a Quality Management Coordinator (QMC). The leaders and staff in Citrus Valley Health Partners (CVHP) were overall very friendly and provided opportunities for the volunteers to learn and participate in patient care. I believe I was able to excel and enjoy working along side healthcare staff members because of my assertiveness as volunteer and leader. As a QMC, I was able to speak with the staff, volunteers, and patients on what we as a whole can do in order to improve patient satisfaction. The most satisfying part of my role is when I see positive comments and results coming from the patients because I know the hard efforts to improve patient care made an impact.
