First let me say this I truly loved my job; the residents and families were the best part of my job, However once the change of new ownership/management happened it was pure chaos, transition did not go smoothly at all. Several things occurred during the transition that should have not. As working in the business office there is a lot of to do besides answer phones, you try to satisfy families with concerns as well as dealing with  deliveries, staff and 1st responders when needed. We also had specific duties that needed to be accomplished during scheduled work time. Sometimes families would drop of items such as food, gifts, and clothing for their loved ones. If no one was available then I would step away from the front and take to the residents personally. At times this would cause phones to be unattended. I always let a nursing staff member or coworker know that I was stepping away for a moment. I know that that was a big complaint that phone was not being answered. Also, CNA's were always understaffed so sometimes  other staff members would help out at meal times.
There was big  lack of communication with staff and management as well. 
You are also not compensated for longevity or given acclimates for a job well done. The biggest issue as I stated before though was communication, some of management staff was rude and condescending. That was the main reason I left my position abruptly. I did exactly as I was asked then was verbally reprimanded for my actions.

There is never a typical workday at this organization. Each day is filled with chaos and uncertainty. The turnover rate for Administrators is incredibly high, with a new one coming in every 2 weeks to a month. Unfortunately, there are no paid holidays, no college tuition reimbursement, and no opportunities for skills training. When employees inquire about the company's policies and procedures, they are met with evasive responses or questioned about their motives. Additionally, when staff members attempt to address grievances through the proper chain of command, there is a lack of follow-up and resolution. The management seems unable to handle the issues created by the business office and administration. The company shows little concern for maintaining high standards for its residents, as there is a severe shortage of supplies necessary for proper care. It is clear that the company is all talk and no action, so it is important to be cautious. It is advisable to seek employment with a company that values the growth and well-being of its employees and respects their professional licenses. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is not a best part overworked and understaffed almost no raises...management is poor on patient and staff care...No appreciation at all!!!!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture is ok...except if diversity of foreign patients is there no one speaks foreign languages. An I pad or goggle translation was used. Work supplies are few and far between because they are locked away from the workers... 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I no longer work there and I haven't since the beginning of the year. I worked 3rd. So I would have to come in and begin rounds on my patients beds and clothes would be soaked from urine. ..

The time I have worked for this company had its ups and down. My big issue was the lack of team work from coworkers at times, and always being short staffed. There was times when I had to worked on the floor with just me and one other CNA and nurse on a unit that typically have 60 patients. This left me being overwhelmed to have to provide care for about 30 patients. Since the pandemic, it has got worse. I have worked for this company for a couple of years, but I felt like I finally had to leave because the amount for work I had to do was not fair for the pay. Also this condition was not fair for the patients at all, because they could not receive the proper care that they deserve. Some of the coworkers I worked with was nice, as well as the residents which made some days enjoyable to work.

During my career at Powder Springs, i tackled many obstacles. From major remodels, to freezing pipes, and water lines. My skills as a Maintenance Director grew, and i excelled at any challenge that i was faced with. Many of my co workers were incredible to work with and, the most rewarding part of my job, was to make the facility a better home for the residents. I interacted with family's, and residents to provide the best possible home for our residents. I approached every project like it was challenge and learned and grew as a Director. I am well versed in most aspects of a nursing home and I look forward to the future and growing with another company.

There is lack of communication in regards to staffing, admissions, and discharges. There is so much drama and talking behind other people’s backs, a lot of days you feel like you cannot rely on coworkers to make the u it flow smoothly. The sub-acute/rehab unit is disorganized and sometimes floor nurses also had to do multiple roles (unit manager/CNA tasks) and the LTC unit is full of people who don’t want to work, care for the patients, and just want to start drama for nothing (again there were a few staff members that genuinely cared for their patients and did their work) Other than that there were a few staff members that were willing to work and cared for the patients and DON is super nice.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I wouldn’t say working for the company has any perks other than pay. They make management clock in and out and micro manage everything from a corporate level.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They expect you to pick up slack of other employees that quit-whether it’s just one other role or five. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic environment. If you’re not “in” you’re out. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?

Not focus on patient care. Their focus is on keeping their finances down and their profit margin high. They make unethical and illegal decisions to falsely make money for care.

If you want to work for a company who will expect you to do 5-6 jobs for barely 1 income, then this is the place to be!! They don't appreciate the good employees who go above and beyond their job to make the company (appear) to be a decent company to the incoming guests, family members, and residents...they are ready to drop you in a heartbeat in hopes of finding better for less!! They have even been through at least 5 directors over the past few years with the most recent being the most uninvolved and incompassionate person I have ever known personally!! 

I've had the privilege of working in the long-term care industry for a long time, and I must say that the Empire truly stands out. Their commitment to providing exceptional care and support to residents and staff members is commendable. The staff here goes above and beyond to create a warm and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being of our elderly residents. I've witnessed firsthand their dedication to adhering to CMS regulations and maintaining the highest standards of quality care. It's a pleasure to be associated with such a caring and professional organization.

The facility has a family like environment. The staff work together as a team and has made some great accomplishments in 2021. The facility had a deficiency free annual survey in August of 2021. The facility also won the American Healthcare Associations Bronze Quality Award for Quality of Care in 2021. The facility also achieved a 4 star overall rating from CMS in 2021.
