The turn over rate on second floor is the highest I have witnessed in all my years of employment there due to the hostile work environment.  My co-workers have tried numerous times transferring out of that department, but the management writes every one up, using the excuse “at the discretion of management “, so they are unable to leave, ultimately being stuck in a hostile work environment. The current manager made a grave mistake on one co-workers very last write up, and another manager let her transfer as she sited it was a hostile work environment. Had she not made this mistake, she would not have been allowed to transfer and she would have ultimately been fired. She now flourishes in her current department and we receive positive comments from her current manager about how she goes above and beyond what is asked of her.  If you are interested in employment at Enloe, because there are great people and benefits, just don’t apply/transfer to second floor.  There are truly SO many honest, kind and caring managers elsewhere. I know, as I have worked for them, which is why I have been employed as long as I have. Best of luck in your employment search.

I Worked at Enloe behavioral health for 4 years. The Staffing department and management are spiteful, incompetent, and only care about lining the pockets of the administration. The quality of care provided by the floor staff is limited by the insufferable and clueless management. inappropriate Patients who would not benefit from the program were continuously admitted to the unit simply because management was more concerned with keeping the census up. Sadly, many unstable patients were prematurely discharged without adequate inpatient mental health care or provided outpatient resources. Everyone wanted to pass the buck. The unit was understaffed, thus causing staff to be overworked and incapable of providing quality care, no matter how hard they tried. The low morale can be attributed to the micromanagement of incompetent superiors who are clueless. Admin and management disregard the safety and well being of the staff and patients alike when it is convenient and/or lucrative.  

I worked in DDC as a Medical Assistant and for the most part loved my job. My patients drew me to work everyday and so did my wonderful coworkers. I unfortunately did not feel supported, or think the department was properly managed . It was very hard to focus on staying positive at this job after witnessing situations of lack of coverage, excessive gossip, and poor attitudes at times.. This is not the place for you if you do not work well with being micromanaged. There was many ongoing situations brought up to the managers superiors that nothing positive ever resulted from.  All and all besides management it really is a nice office to work in and the doctors are amazing to their staff. Everyone works hard and gives their all to the patients (8/10%) and helps you if you are not sure how to proceed with something. Also, the office has outgrown the building they are in and needs to move to a bigger space to accommodate the number of employees. Enloe as a whole is amazing to work for and I definitely recommend .

I love my current position. i do not feel like i get the amount of hours i want from a clinic.
I do not feel i was given a good amount of training, the person that showed me around didn't seem to know much and the LVN corrected the situation showing me the right way. i had been moved to the front counter to help since we are short on people up front. I had about 3-4 hrs total and it was throughout a few days and i kept getting pulled from it, then left up front to figure everything out.
i don't mind i just wish i had been shown, i love all the different levels of experience. i have been shown so much!
i do have a mental disability that doesn't show and i have not felt up to telling management about this due to passed employers treating me different. wish i had more one on one time.
Yes, i could see myself here for a long time. if i decide to stay living here at Chico
short staffed but great place, needs more training time for employees.  2 months here so far 

What is the best part of working at the company?
This is the most efficient hospital in CT, I’ve ever worked at and they’ve addressed about %98 of every complaint all other hospitals have complained about and it was like walking into a miracle, is how I like to describe it! Simply fabulous! I work one on one with the trauma surgeons and trauma staff which keeps you on your toes and allows you to realize how much we each participate in saving people’s lives all day long, each day! The staff are absolutely phenomenal! They should win best places to work award! :) 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The number of traumas you see and the number of people in motor vehicle accidents and/or strokes. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fabulous teamwork makes the dream work! 
Great communication between departments. Everyone is on board with providing the best quality care possible! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy with multiple traumas and teamwork!

Through the 9+ years at Enole I have seen many changes and a lot of them for the better. The patient care is excellent and the coworkers are great as well. The problem I've witnessed personally is how management wont listen to its employees. One department particularly has been asking for 12 hour shifts for years with all but 1 employee wanting the change. The request for the 30 employee department to switch to 12hr shifts has fallen on deaf ears. The employees of that department have gone the extra mile in proving the cost benefit of 12s and the new schedule structure, yet years later no sign of 12hr shifts in sight. The moral of said department is in steep decline and everyone feels 12hr shifts would be a huge moral boost. Besides the poor management in certain departments Enloe is great to its employees although recently it seems the company is running out of money and cutting back on things such as anual caregiver gifts and Christmas bonuses.

I enjoyed going to work every day because I had a since that I was accomplishing something that was absolutely necessary for the hospital and its operations. I learned that we take the little things for granted such as general housekeeping, for a hospital, this is an important part of everyday operations; it isn't just to make the hospital "look good" but for infection control.  I enjoyed working at Enloe Medical center because everyone that works there always displayed an air of professionalism, including my coworkers.  The hardest part of the job is when something goes wrong and you have to stop what you are doing to fix a major problem such as if a water main was to break and makes a huge mess.  The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to know the hospital staff and their expectations.

I started at Enloe in April. I got my interview in February, that went great, got a call the next day with my offer. They only do the hiring process once a month. I didn't get my background check done in time for March so I had to start a month later, but they understood that it was out of my hands and saved my spot. I have worked here for a few months now, every single day is different from the next, I have only had one day where I felt defeated, but it was just a long and hard day, but we all got through it. I have been taught so much here, and so quickly. If you tell your preceptor the things you want to learn, they'll do their best to show you before your training is over, it's two weeks long of training. Overall, I love this place. I drive an hour and a half from where I live just to work here and have this opportunity to learn for my future as nurse. 

Getting to care for patients was incredibly rewarding, however some of the CNAs are very lazy and hard to motivate. They would rather sit at the nurses station and spread rumors/indulge in workplace politics. The work culture was also semi toxic with lots of cliques and irrelevant drama that slowed down productivity. 

Pros: rewarding work, some genuinely caring co workers and decent pay, lots of room for advancement within the hospital

Cons: Can be a toxic work environment. If you’re scheduled to work with a lazy co worker, consider their contributions non existent for the week. 

Here’s a tip for Enloe. Don’t be so lenient with the lazy workers that abuse their leave of absences and do nothing but hide in the coves to ignore their call lights. Disciplining these workers might actually make a difference in their work ethics. 

I was a first-rotation Intern in the Diagnostic Imaging department. Many of the staff didn't have a lot of patience with first-rotation interns and I had no other student(s) to work with so felt a little out on a limb. The staff who did help me learn were very good and I am grateful for their help. The culture of Enloe is a little difficult in that there was not a lot of cooperation among different departments. I attribute this to the leadership (or lack thereof). The equipment was very good and well-maintained and the staff were given ample opportunity and support in learning new equipment when it was installed. I gained a lot of valuable experience in a trauma hospital setting.
