Envision Physician Services

•	Compose standard number of hospital schedules based on the division workload.

•	Coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
•	 Adheres to standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation. 
•	Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules and plans as required.
•	 Prepares project status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.
•	 Confers with project personnel to provide advice and resolve / escalate problems. Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original specifications.
•	 Monitors project results against customer specifications.
•	 Develops and maintains project documentation.

This is a big company with a lot to learn about culture, employee coaching and development, and that success is your people, not your P&L. The culture is ego and hierarchy based and you will not succeed if you don’t play the game. The company claims to want fresh ideas and innovative changes, but the executive level employees are too busy protecting their own hides by taking the ideas of those below them and claiming them as their own. After all, everyone has to show value add. 

The company has many mid-level managers and staff employees who are solid thinkers who want better for the company and its employees. Executive level managers are too insecure to allow their underlings to make too much impact. 

Envision is the marriage of two established companies, but despite the merger annoucement in 2016, the two continue to operate very separately, with the larger company’s policies overriding the policies of the smaller, which unfortunately doesn’t work well, despite a plethora of meetings, workgroups, and data that foreshadowed this well before the actual merger happened.  There has been little to no integration across the two companies, and no roadmap or milestone estimates are shared with the employees. 

Despite the company’s efforts to streamline budgets, VP and SVP level execs spend on everything but investing in their people. Engagement Survey results reflected this, and to date no meaningful changes or dialogues are happening to improve the morale of staff, or to show that the owners and executive operators in Nashville care about anything other than money.

Manager was the worst I’ve had in my career. During my initial interview, I was asked personal questions about my grandmother, not to mention, he drew on the back of my resume and cover letter because he was bored. His actions showed poor training skills with unprofessional skills in the workplace. There is a lot to learn and take in without formal training, or, a team environment. You were expected to learn the job via Email/Lync, short face to face conversations and taking notes on 100 different topics all at once. The resources you need to succeed are not available to you – I asked, several times, for a desk calendar and hanging file organizer, but was told they couldn't be ordered, due to budget issues. In addition, the Scheduler(s), always lagged on having the schedules ready, even though I called, sent numerous emails, even showed up at their desk(s) asking for them. These schedules are what we use to pay the Providers from, therefore, forcing me to process the payroll very fast, resulting in errors at the end. This job has serious turnover, beware if you apply you won't be there long. On my first day, I introduced myself, and asked each employee why they enjoyed working at EmCare, some politely chose not to respond, some gave me a look I interpreted as ''leave while you have the chance!'', and others completely ignored me.

Overall, the management was awful; if you’re not in the "click" you’re not going to last. I was very hurt, I gave the best of myself, but when you don’t bow down to management, they will do all they can to get you out of there.

I have worked with this company for almost a year, and I am surprised that a potentially good company like this is so BADLY MANAGED. You work at the hospital that you're assigned, reviewing hundreds of charts. Don’t expect your day to be any different from your last. Being self-sufficient and able to fix your own problems is a MUST because management is never around nor do they give great advise on solving any issues. They'll have one, 20 minute phone conference call a week that is not helpful. Supervisors are promoted based on personal relationships, with this said, they lack the actual experience needed to lead. Supervisors have absolutely NO clinical experience nor do they have any understanding of medicine, and are always stumped and unable to fix real problems that arise from a clinical aspect. I have clinical experience and I am appalled by what comes out of my supervisor’s mouth when it comes to her suggestions. When problems do arise (and they do very often), I’m able to find solutions on my own when management cant, but then I am questioned as to why I did what I did, instead of a thank you. Supervisors will retaliate and there is clear evidence of illicit activity when it comes to insurance claims and admissions to boost revenue.

The compensation for a CIM with Envision is very poor, you start off making $17.50 with the preference for a bachelor's degree and then you're lucky if you even get a raise. Merit raises are approximately $0.50 and there is no cost of living adjustment raise. After 2 years of being with the company, I make only about $1 more than I was hired at. The pay does not even remotely equate to the amount of work you do, as you will be short staffed, could be the only person documenting for 3+ people, and you're lucky if you get to eat or go to the bathroom during your shift.  There is essentially no advancement in the position, health insurance benefits are expensive and the benefits are worse than what you can find on the marketplace, and there is essentially no-one advocating for the employees that are living in poverty and can barely afford to eat. The company takes advantage of people wanting to pursue a career in medicine and they keep you living in poverty even with a bachelors degree. The healthcare providers are very appreciative of the CIMs but management and the executives do not care that their CIMs are living in poverty, barely able to afford food, and cannot live on their own in the towns they work in. Pay is very poor and the company needs to restructure the pay model for their support roles if they ever want to retain their good employees for a longer than 6-10 months. 

A typical work day varies because you have various accounts that you handle and at any moment you can go from not having much to do to being inundated with work.  I learned how to perfect my time management and organizational skills. Management is far from that they're quick to pawn off work and take the credit. They do not effectively communicate with you and if they have a problem with you it's ALWAYS their word against yours. Instead of hearing the truth about situations, they pretend problems don't exist and choose to operate in a world of dysfunction.My coworkers are absolutely wonderful people from the RM's and other departments. That really is what makes this job doable day in and day out are them. You're guaranteed a good laugh.The hardest part of the job is dealing with the supervisors who think they know everything and refuse to take the time to learn. They fill that being a know it all is how they should manage and take the time to ask questions instead of constantly assuming what they know and do is correct.

A typical day at work would be keying anywhere from over $600,000.00 in charges a day. Which includes inpatient consults, procedures, anesthesia, office visits etc. Our management team is great, but since a change in the last year I believe it lacks in various ways. We do not have the same level of understanding, and communication like we used to. There has been a lot of new people start within the department I work in, which is pain. Besides myself, there is only one other person who still works in my department that has been here for several years. The hardest part of my job, I would have to say some of the tickets that come through my office. We have 2 coders, 1 that has been with the company for 5+ years, and 1 almost new coder. They both code different, which is fine if its coded correctly. The new coder isn't organized, or accurate in her work. The most enjoyable time for me, I would have to say month end. I love busy!! I am a go getter, and if I don't have something to do than I find something. 

This company wants employees to give up their life to Envision to meet their revenue needs. They don’t care about work life balance, whether an employee has time for family or time to heal from illness they want employees to give them constant working if you are exempt. Once you have accomplished structure and have process, they throw you away without regard to whether you have done anything wrong.  Awful company. Run, run, run far away as fast as you can! Worst people I have ever worked with and no loyalty for anything you have done for the company or the people they will stick to the program.  Absolutely no guidance from superior, getting a phone call once or twice a year.  A lot clicks and gossipers work there so beware if you don’t like drama because it runs throughout. I appreciated my staff but most of my staff failed to get recognized appropriately by leadership because they did their work and did not engage in the drama. If you engage with the clicks and love drama this is the place for you.

When you ask questions, he would reply, "I'm not going to answer that." He was more concerned at telling me who he didn't like at the company over formal training. When something went wrong he put it all on me AFTER I DID EXACTLY WHAT HE TOLD ME TO. This job has serious turnover, beware if you apply you won't be there long. I was the 4th Supervisor in a short time frame.

The staff get to do whatever they no call no shows, etc. The thought is they are PT so they are important and hard to come by so we need to "Baby" them....WOW!

You will never be able to apply your skills to this position because the manager wants everything ran by him and done his way. Well he can do it his self NOW...

Company overall is Great.

My manager is wonderful, always supporting me, helps me reach my goals - fights for the team. The workplace culture could be improved but it is not horrible, the management try to create a team environment.  
I think one of the most hardest parts of my job and also the one I have most grown at is having to communicate with so many different kinds of people and different positions and just learning the order and protocols to follow and learning how to navigate the communication with each person.  Normally, I have a call with my boss, then I move right into my daily check-list of the events, what is happening currently, what I will need to do and looking into the future at whats to be planned. Outreach with residents, outreach with physicians and outreach with recruiters. A lot of calls, a lot of emails and a lot of patience. I think my favorite part is cultivating the relationships as well as working with my team - they are great people.
