What is the best part of working at the company?
Paid on time they make sure they have your paycheck on time.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The hospital I worked for breached the contract claiming they let me go because of low census. When they really wanted me to work in another department other than what was in the contract. I reported it to my recruiter on what the hospital was doing. But this agency never had my back. I’ve been unemployed for 2mos not even being able to draw unemployment. I will never advise anyone to work for them   They don’t care and will leave you homeless 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Run far.  This company will not give you your full stipend and if the hospital lets you go they still taking away your stipend 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Worst travel nursing company I have ever worked for.  Sometimes you can’t even get your recruiter when you need them

I would not recommend this company. Communication is spotty with all parties within the company and mostly done through text. I like my recruiter but she can be hard to get ahold of. The contracts will not guarantee 36 hours and generally greatly benefit the facility rather than advocating for the nurse. The biggest reason that I would not advocate for this company is their payroll department and pay structure. The payroll department is shady and unfriendly. They do not explain what they are doing well, that's if you can get ahold of them. In general I don't feel valued by this company at all. I have been made to feel generally unimportant and expendable. If you would like to be valued for the hard work that you do as a nurse, I would recommend you go with a different company. 

My experience with Emerald has been amazing. I was initially assigned to a Nursing recruiter who struggled to help me, but I was reassigned to an AMAZING Allied Health recruiter who takes amazing care of me. She helps me make choices that are good for my career and supports me when I have a problem of any kind. The different divisions work well together and communicate well with me. Even in an emergency, I have always found my team at Emerald to be responsive and solution-oriented. 

My ONLY complaint is that the MEC insurance they changed to is horrid. Hopefully they'll change back. 

Management lacks support and fair judgement when it comes to advocating for the RN. I have been in situations where my licensure is at risk due to out of staff ratio, job not aligning with skill set or experience, and they have repeatedly chose the hospital side. They simply do not understand what the RN is responsible for. I was pressured by recruiter and management to continue the assignment or else.....I moved on.

Can’t say as I’ve never visited the company site, but seems staff collaborate well

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Normal and supportive as needed

Make sure to contract RN's from the start so that you have a healthy beginning in this company. You will be assigned a "mentor." Emerald doesn't tell you, but the mentor takes a cut of the nurses you have on weekly billing. You will become independent once you are billing over $7000 weekly. If you are not billing over $7000 weekly within a year consider yourself fired.

I learned a lot, and very quickly at Emerald Health services. It was a very challenging environment and constantly changing. Although it was a staffing company, it was one of the pioneers of the "We're a technology company" that every company has or must adopt today.

Company lures nurses in with promises they cannot keep. Pay is weekly but it always incorrect. Missed meals and missed breaks on a regular and never paid. Very unethical company. Upper management team does not follow the laws and are not qualified to have the title they have.
